  1. [My wife and I took the bus - about an hour each way. But better than trying to find a place to park. Plus - it only cost us a buck apiece each way.

The bus was about half huskers and half tigers. Good conversation each way - no trash talk at all.

Sat at the game among both tigers and Huskers - no trash talk at all.

The only bad part - the endless rain. We sat near a drain - and the water was non-stop. Stood in a river for 4 1/2 hours.

But . . . once it hit the 4th quarter - we never felt one bit wet. What a great quarter for the good guys.

  2. I agree with that. Last MU-NU game I attended was in Columbia during the Solich era. A bit of rain - and we could not handle the punts. It was ugly.

We are coming in from Florida for the game. Forecasts seem to indicate some rain. Sure hope it is not a repeat of my last game in Columbia.

  3. I thought it was about 60 - 40 Clemson. As mentioned, their upper level was pretty empty and I couldn't see our upper level from our seats. Both teams were well represented and we had a lot of good conversations with Clemson fans....very gracious after the game......a few even stopped by our table at the bar to congratulate NU.....I'll root for Clemson, unless we play them again.

I agree with the 60-40. Would have been a bit easier to guage if it had not been an orange-vs-red comparison.

And also agree about the Clemson bunch. 100% classy. We were sitting right among in - on the Clemson side. They were nothing but hospitable - perhaps disappointed, but never taunting or bitter. They were also very complimentary when a play went our way - or a Husker made a big play.

  4. Gameday being tomorrow I would like to invite you all to stick around and find a home here. You have respectful and classy fans and we would love to keep you here..

Just got home from the game. We sat on the Clemson side - amid all that orange.

But - a great bunch of fans!!! Enjoyed spending the afternoon with them.

  5. Dear Lord what a game! Most exciting one for us ALL season. Congrats on a terrific win and if I had to choose who we had to lose to, its to you Huskers and you fans.

Wow- now for some heavy heart meds...

Just got home from the game.

whew - worn out from those 4 hours - WHAT A GAME! Could very easily have gone the other way.

Sat on the Clemson side - amid many Clemson fans. Very cordial - enjoyed sitting and trading good-natured barbs.

  6. Hello all a quick update from myself and HANC

We are staying about 10 miles north of the landing and this moring in our hotel lobby was about 20 husker fans we are BSing with. Last night down at the landing I would say the fans were about equal in attendance. Clemson fans have been awesome, you guys are not kidding how you hate South Carolina to funny. A guy asked us who our rival was? I said you got 10 minutes and said CU, KSU, MU, OU etc. etc. etc.

This morning we are heading to the beach were the huskers are staying at. Then we are heading off to the landing for the NU pep rally :cheers:cheers:cheers:cheers

Update later after a few drinks

Well - I woke up this morning about 80 miles south of our 1/1 victory - thankfully in my own bed.

Will be leaving about 8:00 - getting there about 10:00. Get the brats cooked. Chat with some Huskers. Then head into the warm stadium to watch our next victory.

  7. Not only are you born with it, but you die with it. The loyalty never leaves you.

You can travel all over the world with it, and it's always with you. And you inevitably meet somebody, somewhere, who is "one of us". There are hordes of us in every state, north and south, east and west.

    . . .

Got that right. I left Nebraska half-way through 6th grade - returning only to visit family. I have remained loyal to the Huskers even through grad school at USC.

    Nothing like Nebraska football!
