  1.

PS - Can anyone help me out with embedding videos? I'm not familiar enough with this bulletin board system, apparently.

It's the link. It has to be a full youtube URL, not the youtu.be shortening. I edited the post above and it should work now. Some YT videos won't embed no matter what, however. It can be a setting.

    Ah, great! Thanks much :)

While I'm at it, here's another video:

  2. Hey folks! Let's compile a list of the best fan footage from last night's game. There's a lot of good stuff out there, but I feel like it's in a million different places.

I'll start. Here's a great sideline video of the last 5 minutes of the game, with an additional 5 minutes of celebration:

Here's a unique one of the marching band (with timestamps for specific plays):

Alright, now it's your turn...whatcha got?

  3. Welcome to the board, hucksker! I'm with you. This team needs our support, win or lose, and especially this season.

I'm cautiously optimistic about the game; I think it helps that the Huskers are playing at home with a little bit of momentum. In a lot of ways, I think the team is ready to put the first half of the season behind them.

  4. Personally, the 11am kick is an annoyance for me. I'm at work until 11, so I'm going to have to DVR the first part of the game and fast forward through commercials to catch up with everyone.

This is a weird week. I think the initial OMG IT'S FOOTBALL SEASON excitement has worn off for a lot of people...we're about as far as you can get from it before the playoff / bowl season anticipation really starts to ramp up.

  5. In situations like this my knee-jerk reaction is to say that the player should take more time to heal. Hopefully if Nebraska's medical staff is giving someone the green light, it means they're actually healthy...not always the case in college football.

I guess we'll find out on Saturday!

  6. Addressing the initial question: this season will be played in the shadow of Pelini, there's no getting away from that. If we were 3-0 right now, people would be talking about how Riley is a superior coach in every way because "even with Pelini's recruits he can get the job done." Unfortunately at 1-2 we're on the less fun side of that discussion...

I do think, though, that four years is far too long to give Riley. I don't think it's unreasonable to ask for significant improvement in year two.

  7. Hey folks! I promise not to constantly push my podcast here (I didn't post anything about the new episode last week), but for those of you who have the time to listen, I'd love some feedback on our latest episode. I feel like we've yet to "hit our stride," but we're beginning to feel out what that might look like.

So far, each regular season episode has used the same general format:
Recap last week's game > Preview next week's game > Get to know a new Husker coach > Huskers in the NFL

The type of feedback I'm specifically looking for is:

    - Are there any lulls in the conversation for you? We're trying to shoot for a half hour or less to keep things moving pretty swiftly, but I feel like maybe some segments still begin to drag on. Is there a moment where you "check out" in the podcast?

    - Are we achieving a good balance between being entertaining and being informative?

    - Is there anything you'd like to hear a podcast like ours address? (For instance, we recorded a segment about Lewis' Twitter outburst for this episode, but we scrapped it and kept only our discussion about the penalty. Would you have liked to hear more?)

Anyway, thanks to anyone who's already checked us out. It's a labor of love - we have no sponsors and no intent to make a profit (in fact, I'm about $50 in the hole already). We're fans just like you!

Here's a link to the podcast on iTunes:
    https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/husker-football-fancast/id1037575833?mt=2

And here's the episode on libsyn in case you want to listen from your browser / non-apple device:

    Thanks again :power

  8. Dude, how long did you play for Pillar? I saw them at Lifelight Festival like 11 years ago, and now I'm in a band that plays there!

Anyway, nicely done on the song. I like that it sounds like it could stand on its own...sometimes fan songs come off as way too gimmicky, and yours is an exception :throwdabones1:

  9. My problem with the all-whites is that they resemble Wisconsin's traditional road uniforms. I'm sorry, but if I'm cheering "GO BIG RED!" it just makes sense to have that teams main color scheme be prodominately displayed no matter if it is the home or away uniform.

If you want more information on the history of Nebraska's uniforms you can find it here ---> https://sites.google.com/site/nebraskafootballhistory/uniforms

You just confirmed for me that when I think of the Huskers, my brain is stuck in 2001.
