  1. I would like to see Cody in there. Put him in there and use his strengths: QB runs, zone reads, speed options, and play action passes off zone reads.

But I'm not sure it matters who you put in there at this point. Our offense is broken and can't be fixed by changing QBs.

You really think these are his strenghts?????? I almost threw up reading that........Our Quarterbacks are not very good and I dont just mean Zac Lee ,dont you really think if Cody was better he would be starting.Everyone wants to point fingers at the qb,maybe their are more problems than that.As far as i can tell we dont have a wide receiver with a pulse, and the offensive line play against Texass was really offensive,I cant wait for the bowl to get here and overwith,,,,,,,, Then we wont have to hear any crying until spring ball!!!!!!!!

  2. Cody Green might end up being a wonderful QB but at this time I'd rather see Latravis get some snaps than Cody he needs a year to redshirt and give the game a chance to slow down for him,As bad as Zac has looked at times hes basicly managed the games well and done what the coachs have asked him to do..... I understand everyone wants to see Cody get some playing time but imo hes not ready by a longshot, you might not like it but Zacs the best we have right now

  3. Our offense will be better off with Cody Green starting.

He looked real good yesterday didnt he.............your parents let you get on the computer today, they must be at work <_<

CG looked horrible for the short time he was in there yesterday. Granted he can run better, but he doesn't have a better arm. My problem with Lee is when he decides to run it's like he's surprised he's running and he hesitates to make the decision. He's taken some shots this season though and gets back up.

I hate to think about Cody starting against Texas,I just get tired about some of the constant bagging on Zac,He might look bad sometime, but he gives us our best chance of winning right now.........GO BIG RED

  4. It will be exactly like the OU game, except Texas will score a lot more and we will score 10 again.

Our offense will need gift wrapped red zone turnovers to have any hope for scoring 10 or more points.

Did any of you watch the TU/TA&M game last night? A&M moved the ball all over the Longhorns and I don't want to here how freaking much better A&M's offense is than ours, THEY SUCK PEOPLE!!! A&M has been the whipping boy for pretty much all the Big 12 south this year. I think Texas has shown several times this year that they can be very suspect and not the Goliath that some make them out to be. After watching last nights game, our D will give McCoy and Co. major fits next week. TU's defense was very susceptible to a good running game and our O is getting better. Either way, we almost always play them very close even when we were way down (07). I am hearing more and more commentators say that the Huskers have a legitimate shot at winning this. At the half of the Cinci/Illinois game they were talking about it and said that the Huskers could pull it off, especially after watching last nights game.

aTm skill positions on offense >>> NU skill positions. No way to spin it sir . . . A&M's QB and WR's are wayyy better than ours.

If aTm has such good skill positions how come their record sucks??????????

  5. We must win the TOP battle. Keep the horns offense off the field and we'll have a shot at an upset. Big plays (Mc-to-ship) and missed tackles will kill us.

For the love of all things red, don't make Lee run!!! HE'S NOT A RUNNER!!

Absolutley must take advantage of any opportunity at a turnover. We're going to need at least two, maybe even +3 to be in this thing.

We win TOP, get a couple of turnovers, and have a better than good day of rushing, we're in this thing.

    GBR

PS: Screw the buffs. I hope we shut them out and hang 24 on em. :laughpound

I hope we dont see Cody Green have to run either

  6. Should an offense be running Option plays if the QB is not a running threat? Absolutely not. Do you see teams teams using the Option if their QB (Daunte Culpepper for example) is not a running threat? Absolutely not.

So why does Nebraska's current offense run the Option? We do not have a running threat like Tommie Frazier or Eric Crouch

You're serious right? You have been uncovered as a unthinking Husker bashing troll time and time again, but yet keep regurgitating refuse that bears not even a glimmer of rational thought. By any other standards, it doesn't even rise to the level of using the  , :wtf , or :lame smileys.

You mean the very same Daunte Culpepper, who was beating the 1997 National Championship team 17-14 at halftime Sept. 13, 1997 in Lincoln? You mean the very same Daunte Culpepper, who rushed for 59 yards and a touchdown (Scott Frost rushed for 58 yards and a TD that game), then threw the ball for 318 yards for two more touchdowns against the Blackshirts? That guy?

Back then, Osborne was quoted saying if Culpepper had gone to a more prestigious school he would have been a candidate for the Heisman. He finished sixth for the Heisman in 1998.

Culpepper also set an NCAA record for single-season completion percentage at .736, breaking a 15-year-old mark set by Steve Young (.713) and accomplished a feat equaled by only two others in NCAA history when he topped the 10,000 yard passing mark and the 1,000 yard rushing mark in his career. He finished his career sixth on the NCAA's all-time total offense list for all divisions with 12,459 yards and was responsible for 108 career touchdowns (84 passing, 24 rushing). That guy?

Do us all a favor and save yourself an embarrassment of these idiotic posts.

Eat your turkey, and go to sleep.

Well said this dude wears me out

  7. I doubt you will see anyone getting rested for the Texas game this Friday. Bo is not going to send a message to the team by sitting Helu for a week. I would rather see the Huskers well in control early and a lot of Green and Burkhead in the second half.

I think you'll see alot of Rex but dont think you'll see Cody the rest of the year unless Zac gets hurt or NU goes up by 35

  8. What an Uninspiring Thread

Yay. Another thread griping after a victory. Yippee.

Seriously - this is another frustrating thread to read. I don't know if it's the writing or the topic or the poster, but goodness, this is not a good thread at all.

Sorry to be a sour-puss, but this was a pretty unsatisfying read. Is there anything that can be done in the next two weeks to help this thread?

Otherwise, we are going to have to read drivel like this over and over, or something along those lines.

We've been listening to it all year .do you think it would change just because we won.People will still be crying dedhoarse

  9. Not to bash Lee, but I've been thinking for awhile now that we should try using Green inside the 5, especially on the designed running plays. Kind of like when Florida used Tebow when Leak was the starter. Could also mix it in the middle of drives...normally have him run, but every once in a while throw a pass in to shake up the defense. We keep hearing both will likely see the field, I keep taking that as a dual qb system not, you will likely see the back up if the first one fudges up enough times.

If Lee keeps improving you might not see Cody untill 2011.........Cody is doing just fine where hes at, on the sidelines

  10. After watching the offensive lines of Oregon and Kansas State tonight, I am seriously questioning whether Cotton is the guy for us in the long term. I certainly don't claim to know anything about playing or coaching the offensive line, but the end result after a year and a half is just way behind what should be expected.

Oregon ran mainly from shotgun, often with the zone read play, against a USC defense chock-full of talent, and had the following results:

49 carries for 492 yards (8.0 yards per carry), 4 TDs

Kansas State ran a more traditional running game, mostly from under center and often with a fullback. They played an outstanding OU defense that came in ranked 3rd in rush defense (70 ypg). Their results were more modest, but still impressive considering the talent differential:

29 carries, 149 yards (5.1 yards per carry), 3 TDs

Both of these lines were getting better as the game progressed, wearing out the defense and eventually getting large chunks of 10-15 yards. They were actually pushing people around and opening up nice run lanes.

Nebraska played a Baylor defense that was ranked 100th :dumdum in the country in rush defense. They have very little apparent identity. They seem to actually get worse as the game progresses. Here is what they accomplished:

38 carries, 145 yards (3.8 yards per carry), 1 TD

This is just staggering. It's hard to blame it on the talent, considering our linemen are probably ranked higher than KSU's and on par with Oregon's. I just don't see any possible way to excuse this. We should have rushed for 250+ yards and 6 ypc against this Baylor team. And we didn't even come close. Something is just not right with the way this offensive line is failing to make any significant improvement throughout the season or throughout individual games.

If we could find a running game, OU proved they can be run on, KState can be run on, KU can be run on and CU can be run on.

If we could just find a damn running game, we will win the Big 12 North.

If we had a healthy group of running backs..........

  11. Boy I am glad you came....out of the closet! :clap

I was never in the closet. I just call things the way I see them. I've followed the Huskers for a lot longer than you might think. I'm not a husker hater. I just don't care about them now that they're worse than mediocre. Their decline started about Frank's 2nd year. I'm just saying huge changes need to happen before the Huskers are an ass kicking team again on BOTH sides of the ball. Osborne is a great guy but he doesn't understand the game and Pelini is not head coach material. An awesome defensive co-ordinator but not a head coach. Speaking of closets, nothing will change until the University cleans out the football closet from TOP TO BOTTOM.

Redgixxer is not worth wasting your time on hes a troll
