Start connecting the dots guys. ALL the way back to post iowa last year. All the tweets today about tressels interest last year. No word from tressel. Kelloggs appearingly trolling tweet about tressel touring facilities snd campus so often over the past year. Tressels agents weird "no contact" comment. The dynamics of coach search and hirings. Eichorsts tremendous display of swagger and confidence andcrelaxtion during the presser. Many have said ge appears as a guy thats already got his man. Eichy even slipped up and said "we have a tremendous leader in place..." HAVE.

Connect the dots folks. Its not as nuts as you think.

    I concur...

Throw in M. Roses mom's tweets about Tressel being the next HC...etc...too much smoke to not mean something...Tressel has a role in all of this.

This is the first I have heard of this tweet. hmmmmm

Peeps... it wasn't a tweet. It wasn't Instagram. M. Roses' mom posted on her Facebook timeline, not too long after the firing of Pelini. She mentioned not being happy about Pelini being fired, the way the players were informed, and then she suggested that Tressel was being hired. I'm in the midst of confirming if the post is still on her timeline.

    twitter. facebook. instagram. chive.com. pornhub.

    it's all the same.

I didn't seem to find any news relating to football on pornhub. Still searching, though.

Are you sure? I'd be willing to take a look too and help out, lots of "info" on that site to sift through.

Nah. This is a job for one hand.

    I mean 1 man.

I visited there at noon and typed "frost" into the search ..................... WOW !!

  2. So! After a fruitful day at work I decided to check the twitter machine (I thing I am often wont to do during a spare minute in the bad boy lifestyle) and I stumbled across this little chestnut.

    attachicon.gifimage.jpg

Now a common theme round these parts lately is that Nebraska is 6-1 (true) there is a spark of optimism that this team won't lose four games for the first time in over a decade (also true!) and most importantly, and those who say I have nothing positive to say need to take notice here, there seems to be an attitude of looking towards a greater goal. A good thing.

Until we go rip a wound open.

For Christ's sake let it go. He doesn't play here anymore. He played hurt and didn't complain to the media about it. He's the other part of most of your td catches.

In short, Bo could drop a twitter ban again any ole time.

If I remember right, we opened 2010 and 2011 at 9-1 and 7-1, respectively, so don't anyone think things can't cahnge in a hurry. TA still needs as much work as TM did.

  3. And just remember ................. Auburn played for it all this year while starting the season unranked and unrespected. I'll get my giblets in an uproar when NU goes 11-1 or undefeated next year and doesn't make the playoffs. I guarantee you anywhere from 1-3 teams will be left out of legitimate contention with this particular style of playoff formatting. Even with Dr. Tom on the selection committee.

  4. I think 82 and 93 might have been championships as well if played on a neutral field. The 82 team was arguably the best in the country and probably had a better defense than 83. The shafting at Penn St cost us a shot to play them again. 93 with different refs and away from Fla could have been a great game. Looking back it's amazing how many times we were in the discussion and failed to get the brass ring.

Only the Atlanta Braves of the 90's would have had a more hapless record of "lost opportunities" in championships.

  5. It doesn't seem to be a secret that Nebraska has had a lot of....unusual or just unique circumstances surrounding our program or our media coverage over the last decade or so. There was the second put back on the clock against Texas, the Taylor Martinez flame out, the move to the Big Ten that was unprecedented when it was announced, The Big XII's gracious sendoff, Bo's sideline tirades, the completely unexpected curveball against Wisconsin in the CCG, that 'reporter' that attacked Bo because he didn't allow a former military member to call a play that he supposedly promised, Team Jack, etc. etc.

Not saying we are special or anything like that, but there have just been weird and uncommon occurrences going on. And yet it continues:

Has any other team ever only played in 3 bowls over the course of 6 bowl games?

Gator Bowl twice in 2008 and 2013

Holiday Bowl twice in 2009 and 2010

Capital One Bowl twice in 2011 and 2012

Taking it one step further, has any other team ever had to have rematches not even a year old in two of those games (Washington and Georgia)? A lot of people keep talking about fan apathy and acceptance of mediocrity... well with circumstances like this, it makes it really hard to continue with passionate optimism.

As others have stated, we did play in a long string of Orange/Sugar bowls a few years back.

As for unique circumstances, to quote another thread in another blog sight ............... "Auburn has a 1st year coach and a brand new quarterback.....and they are playing for the NC. How did they do that?"

All this consternation disappears by winning, and not losing, football games. Even the occasional loss gets appreciated, i.e., Orange bowl versus Miami 1984.

We must get past the "mediocrity" of this program and get back to being relevant and win games.

  6. You guys all realize none of this will work in time. We don't have eneough time to turn this program around. As you all know, the powers that be will be forced to eliminate football because of head injuries. This sport will morph into something totally unrecognizable within the next 5-10 years. I don't know why anyone worries about these issues of strength conditioning and forward passes, and turnovers, etc. It won't matter.

  7. You're all missing the point here. This is a "conspiracy" between Bo and TF to motivate the players and the fan base. Secretly, it has been recorded that Bo and TF are best buddies and they hatched this "plan" to win out the rest of the season, and win the MNC next year with another QB named "Tommie", or is that "Tommy". Doesn't matter. Tom Osborne approved the covert operation. It seems to be working well.

  8. I'm confused with the ejection part of the rule, but in the video above it is clear that the defensive player came in high, after the ball was released and made helmet-to-helmet contact before any other part of his body makes contact. Knowing the rule going in, he could have just as easily dropped his shoulder and taken the QB out at the waist. His hands didn't even go up to try to block the pass. He just made a beeline for the QB's head. By definition, clearly flagrant. I just don't find it severe enough for an ejection.

  9. Haha, I caught the six-pick, too. Thought it was a funny slip-up.

I think back to last year, and even though our defense didn't do us a ton of favors, there were quite a few games where our offense took a long time to get settled. Penn State and Wisconsin 1.0 to name a couple. Some of that has carried over. Personally, and as I mentioned above, I think quite a bit of this falls on the o-line. First drive of the game for Nebraska was two AA rushes for five yards, and then (IIRC) a failed pass play that resulted in a three yard rush by Martinez and a punt. While I don't remember the exact extent of the third play, five yards on two rushes (and one of those only being for a yard) wasn't very good.

Then, our first drive in the second half was a AA rush for minus two yards, a Martinez rush for no gain and then a pass that gained seven yards. Punt followed. Both drives started with two rushes, those rushes were lackluster and put us in third and long. Unable to convert.

So, I'm certainly not trying to blow this out of proportion. We have been playing pretty well, but given the level of competition and what we have on that line, I just would've expected a little more consistency on their part and ability to impose their will a bit. Moving forward, I'm still not very worried about the offense. I think they're going to do what they have to do.

I think some of this will present itself this weekend. If I'm not mistaken, a number of offensive players have mentioned that once T-Magic actually starts controlling the game calls, they operate at an unbelieveable uptempo that will have the "D" on their heels. I don't think any of this has been revealed yet. I hope their right, and once TM has control with a reliable game plan, DONU just keeps pounding, and pounding, and pounding away !!!!

B-Smith goes off and people start taking notice.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

BeaverPoke is right .............. B-Smith goes off on a stretcher right after an incredible smack down sack from Randy Gregory. Clowney "snippet" is replaced on ESPN by the shellacking Gregory lays on Smith. People take notice.
