He is a pretty good article that tries to explain oversigning. Miami signed 33 yesterday! link
Good article. Thanks for sharing.

I am not sold that the "press" conference is a definite bad sign......... although he has never actually decommited, he has visited other schools, and this is widely known..........He may possibly want to make it official in front of his friends and teammates that he will be attending NU....I would assume that most of the local kids want him to stay in LIncoln, so they will be excited and cheering....yes, a little bit of an ego thing......
If he announces Stanford, I think some students will "boo"........so why would he set himself up for the "bad press".........
Just a thought...........
I hope they would not boo if he picks Stanford...can't blame a student going there. Hell, I probably would if I had a chance!

Mike Matya from Rivals had a great article on Compton but since it is premium info, I will try to summarize
First of all he said the chances with Compton are much better then most people think and he said the "tide is turning" Nebraska's way. According to his mother Will is only considering schools with a wrestling program, which eliminates Notre Dame who has no wrestling. The reason why is because of Will's brother Cody. Cody is the #5 wrestler in the nation. NU's wrestling coach Mark Manning is recruiting him very hard. Will's mother also says he is defintely her favorite wrestling coach out of all that are recruiting him. It says that Will and Cody want to go to the same college and it is a "major factor". Will and his family were "very" impressed with Bo in the National Championship game. Both Will and his mother are very excited for this weekends visit
I hope this helps you guys out
Thanks...at least it give me hope.

I hate to see Harper de-commit. I seem to recall there were some great articles about this guy and his situation. Callahan and his staff had done good work getting him to commit to Nebraska -- so I believe he really was a guy that was committed to a staff. Best of luck to him, but I wish he was still N.
-
As for Kuli, he probably would have decommited no matter who the coaching staff is here. Remember, even if Callahan was still here and had a successful season, four or five commitments would not come here anyway.
This part I do not understand -- Kuli commited to Dr. Tom -- not Callahan.
-
Judge Bo Pelini by his '09 class, not his '08 class.
Agree, but I still am left scratching my head on a couple of these recruits.
Kuli is the one that I understand the least. He appeared to commit to Osborne and Nebraska. Why has he gone soft? Is it second thoughts due to location? weather? other players? new coaches? These things happen, but the way he talked about Nebraska after he commited made me think he was sold on NU -- not Callahan or his staff. He knew a coaching change was coming (everybody did), so has one of the new coaches rubbed him the wrong way or what? Just seems odd compared to the other commits...
-
I know its part of a needed coaching change. but it still sucks. moler is gone and it seems like hoch, givens, compton and williams wont be around to much longer....
We are best rid of these future Callacancers...Bo can replace them with his own brand of recruits
in the future. Many of these would probably not pan out anyway--just like so many of the past
Callacruits, nothing but a bunch of unproducing stars and pretenders. I feel many of these "commits" were given the opportunity to remain Huskers just out of courtesy. So $ee yah and good luck
with your future teams.
What about Kuli -- he seemed to commit based on a conversation with Osborne, now he is wavering. He would be a big loss. Why are we having trouble with him?
I expected to lose a few recruits, but it seems this is going to end up being worse that I thought it might. I am sure in a year or so, it won't mean too much, but I hate to lose so many...
-
He is now listed as a 'soft' verbal...this would suck if we lost him from this class.
-
I think it will be Barry Sanders at number 1 and maybe Billy Sims at number 2. No Way they put Tommy on the list -- they gave us Johnny Rodgers already.
-
But wasn't Wandstandt PUD's first choice here?!? When he turned us down he then tried to get Nutt and others before he finally found Billy C.
-
Umm..I think font matters, and probably version of the OS...
Some programmers joke regarding Bill Gates and Windows I am sure...
-
By my count they need two more...it's my guess that the strength coach will replace Dave Kennedy, thus leaving room for one more on the defensive side and a runningbacks coach.
I think we can only have one more assistant...I seem to recall hearing yesterday on 1620 that we are limited to 10 coaches including the head coach.
-
Maybe is was not so much Dr. Tom telling Pelini who to hire as much as Pelini discussing the people he would look at for his staff. Maybe Pelini said, I liked working with Brown or Cotton or Gill or whoever and discussed how these people would work in his staff.
When Dr. Tom talked to Grobe, maybe he said here is my staff and Dr. Tom just asked about other coaches that might hasve ties to Nebraska in the past and Grobe did not know these guys or did not want to take that path.
I do no believe that Dr. Tom told Pelini who to hire, though he might have had some input based on Pelini asking for input. Grobe is not a bad guy for not having that mentality and he did not get the job...no harm and nothing against him.
After all, Brown did say that Pelini told him back in 03 that if he was the new Head coach he wanted Brown on his staff. Pelini is following through with things he talked about back then...I am excitied to see the changes and I truely hope this tunrs out good for Coach Pelini and the team. I believe it will.
-
Excellent decision to get Coach Brown back. Great man, great coach, great hire.
-
Damn -- Bo is going to have some pretty high expectations to live up to if this keep up. Like the guy, but the LOVE on this thread is obsessive.
-
Already being announced. Ron Brown, Marvin Sanders, Barney Cotton, Shawn Watson so far...
Where are you seeing/hearing an announcement?
-
Does anyone have a clue when they think Bo will announce his new staff. I am very anxious and excited to hear who he brings in and I am just curious how long it will take for him to assemble and announce his staff. I hope it is soon because they don't have much time to get out there and bring in some recruits and try to keep the ones we have.
I got the impression from the news conference yesterday that we would hear something around mid-week.

Here:
I kind of like that...

If LSU wants to complain about having the number 3 defense in the nation for 3 years in a year...well I say have fun with your new DC. That is about as good as it gets on D. Maybe you should look at your Offense...
apparently it does get better... like 2 spots better j/k
and if you ranked defenses on the last 6 games... lsu wouldn't be in the top 15, much less top 5. all of what made us the "#3 d" was done early, and took people like osu and usc a while to bring their averages down... while we brought ours waaaayyyyy up. in the first 3 games we gave up 14 pts and about 500yds give or take. but once we got into serious sec play... through the floor. look at what ole miss did to bo/our d
going for it on fourth down got you guys to the NC game
fixed it for you

I heard on the radio(?) down here that if the Cheifs Offense continues to struggle that he may be a canidate for KC OC. I hope not, but also saw in various rumor postings that Gruden may hire him in Tampa as OC.
Thanks man!
That is hilarious about that commercial; That bank is probably keeping that commercial up in appreciation for the huge sum of money BC just deposited.
I am surprised as that commercial has not been running for about six weeks. Wonder if some cable station was re-running a show from September that still had some old commercials queued? Kind of like when you see a Christmas Sale commercial in the second week of January on SciFi...

I just want to watch it as I think the game has the potential to be one of the more entertaining games this bowl season
