I am just saying, I don't know that any announcement will happen today. An announcement naming Bo would be just that - he would not be up here till after the SEC game. And there is no sign of Turner in the area. The only hint that it could be Turner is the delaying of his weekly press conference indefinately. It will be interesting to see if anything comes out today, but I am not counting on it.
Whoever it is, I will give my support to the new HC when he is announced.
Dang it! They need to make an announcement so we can all go back to work and be productive.

Or it could be that Pelini blew this interview as he has blown others before. Overconfidence can kill you in an interview. And after the interview TO and HP decided to go onto Atlanta and see what the search firm had found.
Just a thought in view of the fact that the NU job isn't the only one out there.
It could be that Bo said No thanks. After all, Miles appears to be headed back to Michigan and with Bo's rep in Baton Rouge, he may already be a shoo in for that HC job, especially if they take the SEC championship and their bowl game.
If Pelini turned down the NU job, it wasn't to become the LSU HC. As someone else just stated, LSU fans are very unhappy with him and there's speculation that he could even be fired if NU doesn't hire hiim. That's an encouraging thought, eh?
Why because FANS think that he will be fired?
I don't know how closely you've been following all of this, but it's been talked about on the radio numerous times. I heard a Baton Rouge journalist interviewed the other day who said this was a very real possibility since the LSU fan base and administration feel Pelini has vastly underperformed with the talen he has this season. If you look into it you'll find plenty of talk on this. But I'm not saying this will definitely happen, which is why I used the word "speculation." But the fact that there is speculation about Pelini getting fired after this season suggests that LSU probably won't promote him to HC (and if you remember, that was the original context of my post).
Maybe this is why Miles says he would recommend Pelini to any school looking for a coach -- saves him from having to fire anyone.

I don't know if I'm really thrilled with any of the candidates, now that I think about it. I would probably be just as skeptical of Pelini being hired as I would be with Gill.
I could get behind either, but I would do so very cautiously and with low expectations. What a terrible season this was.
Neither of these guys are a shoe in to win (either is Kelly, or Grobe, or even Dr. Tom if he came back), but they both bring good experience and traits. Regardless who is hired, we need to support the new coach!

"Postponed indefinitely" seems somewhat significant. Of course, it could very easily mean nothing at all.

At least add a little substance to the rumor like...Gill's normal Tuesday PC was rumored to be postponed until Wednesday -- then it was postponed indefinitely.

supposedly our new coach tomorrow at 4 pm. Im positive about the meeting. Not positive about the new coach but why else would there be such a quick meeting called with the players??

No offense to you but how the hell does this guy know if either of these guys have even been contacted? At this point in time all these reporters are doing is speculating. It's their job to do so. Besides today is only the first day of the work week. I have a feeling TO isn't done with his interviews on Day 1.

I actually think Dr. Tom will be done with interviews either today or tomorrow. He is only going to interview 4-5 people, and he has already completed two (maybe even three). If he finishes today or tomorrow, the offer goes out and we have a press conference by Thursday.

Just something to note. It's the end of the 3rd period LSU vs Arkansas. The game is tied at 21.
Bo's defense has given up 265 yards rushing.
People here like to get all crazy about the suggestion of Houston Nutt coming here (Not my preference). Everybody wants Bo. I'm not saying anything. Decide for yourself. LSU has given up 265 yards rushing to Arkansas with 15 minutes left to play.

Don't think he is saying that...but Bo's defense is getting run through at the moment. In the end, LSU will still win though.

I think that he would benefit from one more year. He has another 1000/1000 year and he is playing on sundays for sure.
I agree. I believe Marlon has grown up a lot this year on the field and is just starting to show that he is a good runner (see the holes, wait for the blocks) in the last few games. His ability to catch the ball is not in doubt, but is he has a similar year like this next year (maybe 1200 rushing, 800 receiving), I believe he is a late 1st rounder. At this point he probably is a 2nd day draftee.

I think this guy is a poor coach for us (maybe anybody), but I also do not think this man is an a-hole. He has done a lot of charity work for the community.
He may suck as a coach, but I would leave it at that...

I would be, but why tell people to check early? and why give a timeline for a decision and announcement?
I understand that Dr. Tom does not want to steal thunder from the UNO playoff game or the BB game, and
I know it does not say the decision will be tomorrow, but you have to wonder.
