  1. Have I missed something. Aren't there a lot of freshmen and JUCO's coming into the fall camp. Maybe Mr. Lucky may assist Porkchop and Brandon have a 2000+ rushing total this year. Hey the frosh at OU rushed pretty good and Lucky is supposed to be that good or better. Why start all the same rhetoric.

From what I have read at Huskers.com the offense did pretty good and ZT did better than JD did today or last year. Who knows maybe JD will gel and set the WCO on fire. He is a good enough athlete and smart enough. Anyway, way too early to start flaming the board. But I think by next December there will be some quieter people.

  2. That's what the team needs. More players with a fire, with P&V (piss and vinegar). Anybody that doesnt think this team will go to a bowl game(more than 6 wins) should wade around salt creek without shoes and no antibiotics. :)

  3. I assume the Constitution of the US does not apply to people charged with a crime and they play college sports. This might be different from the Incognito case or maybe not. I dont believe BC will keep him on the team if circumstances warrant it. IMO

  4. I just read on yahoo news that some senator from Colorado is asking the CU Regents to fire Coach Barnett. That's pretty bad when your state government has to write letters asking the University to terminate the current coach.

The current controversy of FS vs BC is nothing when you look at what CU is continuing to go through. And then Rae Carruth surfaces to appeal a murder conviction when it rains it pours. :wtf I wouldnt wish that on any NU opponent. Way too many legal issues and not enough football

  5. I definitely think this offense can win a championship. BD, TO both played offenses that worked for them and the players and took what they could. BC is just installing a system that will utilize what works for any given team both offensively and defensively. Will we win overnight or even next year NO. When he has (hopefully)recruited well consistently the wins will come easily. yadayada beat a dead horse. WE WILL WIN A NC within 5 years IMO.

  6. Great article and a lot of truth in what he said about what the team needs. We havent had a great pass rush since the 97 team that handed Manning his posterior. I am confident we(the team) will show marked improvement over last year. Mainly because of all the things stated on other threads: recruiting, JC and such. Glad to hear FF hasnt changed. Keep it up I like the obvious ploy of repeating all the same old rhetoric. Its a free country.

  7. Since I grew up in the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's oops havent stopped. No I feel that the OU rivalry ceased to be an annual tradition when the Big 8 was changed to the Big 12. The only way it could have continued is if OU was part of the Big 12 N division. IMO

Now I think there is more rivalry between CU and NU. JMHO

  8. Cops have a job to do. Do the crime u know the rest I dont think u can call that profiling but the chances that a LPD unit rolls up to a house on campus chances are real good the party may have an athlete or twenty in attendance. The normal students that get busted dont make headlines.

  9. I am curious as to how everyone feels about instant replays. The Big 10 tried it for a season and now the ACC is going to give it a shot.

There was the 83 PSU game it would have been great to use and I can think of any number of other games where it could have made a difference.

  11. hoyamann,

I like the way you think and keep the faith. Optimistically speaking, IMO 7-4 or 8-3 would be a great start to cap a great recruiting season and to start another. I have to agree with IRISH also. We could go 6-5 but it would be an improvement and get us a bowl game(anywhere in Ca :) ). I would love to see GBR kick some righteous butt and go 8-3 then again who knows maybe 10-1 :cheers By the way TT gets a new QB but the same receivers so I dont think they will post 60 on us unless we put in a QB to throw 5 TD passes to the wrong team

  12. The 70's were the 70's, 80's= 80's, 90's etc. Those great D's werent just about LB's or D-line. They had it all. The 90's with out a doubt had some of the greatest D ever, especially TEAM SPEED. Tomich, Wistrom, Peters', etc. Not just LB's or Dline or CB,SS or whatever.

This year with the JUCO's IMO the D becomes more effective with pressure from several points. The line and LB speed. The D backs are the big question and the Jucos and Frosh may have to be men right away. Doesnt matter. The D will be better and the O wont fold as quick IMHO Damn aint I brave, nah just another fan with optimism!!!

  13. Most people dont realize why the colleges recruit more in certain areas. Where I live in So Cal. there are more people in this county than in all of NE. Just by population alone the odds that there are more good people playing out here is justified by numbers. If NE had 20000000 people then they would naturally have a larger base of talent to draw from.

Just dont forget what else comes with that. More smog, crime, gridlock, etc.

NEBRASKA truly is the good life. I miss it daily. So I get back there whenever I can.

  14. Yeah

I never could have played D1 ball either I was too small but I made up for it by being real slow :) (Robert Duval)

I remember seeing guys in HS who were stars(Lincoln and Waverly) and went to NU and were average at best. D1 is a whole new ballgame: remember Maury Damkroger fantastic HS player but wasnt a fantastic D1 player. I know ancient history. Sorry
