  1. p.s. hoyamannn, the wr who was at the co game w/ mcneil was maclin (from kirkwood, mo & teammates w/ mcneil), who is a soft verbal to ok, & who now is slightly interested in UN, & may set an upcoming visit to UN

for those debating if the CU win will have a positive effect on recruiting, if this is in fact the case, this is proof positive that there was an impact...regardless if it pans out, it bolstered a recruits interest level.

  2. my predicitons

    rose-texas vs usc

    cotton- texas tech vs alabama

    holiday- oklahoma vs oregon

    alamo- nebraska vs iowa

    ind.- colorado vs south carolina

    houston- isu vs tcu

    champs- missouri vs clemson

    fort worth- kansas vs tulsa

nice job on this. I would love to see NU v. Iowa! I think we'd roll 'em!

  3. Nebraska Unfazed By Bluffs In 30-3 Beating Of Colorado

Coach Gary Barnett said he was “dumbfounded” by the way his overrated protégés got hit – and didn’t hit back.

Note to Barnett: Why’s that?  Your boys showed up to show off. They were looking forward to a patsy. They foresaw an afternoon of mean-spirited epithets, finger-pointing, chest-thumping, taunting, and prancing around as if they’re jock straps were too tight. By the way, coach, based on their play, some of your boys probably didn’t need that particular bit of equipment.

  4. I think the biggest impact my be from high level recruits seeing players, with what they perceive as lesser skill than theirs, flourishing in NU's WCO. For example, a top WR recruit may watch that game and see Peterson and Swift catching balls left and right and say "Imagine what I could do in that system!"

I don't think anyone would argue that Friday's effort hurt NU's recruiting, but there is a possibility, albeit slim, that a recruit on the fence may have been swayed by what they saw.

As far as CU's recruiting...I think that was definately harmed.

    JMHO.

  5. I know we have had our problems with announcers but I think Tirico is one of the best in the game. For not announcing the Husker games this season he was pretty knowledgable about the happenings. I know he screwed some thing up, but he did his best to smash and hammer the CU Buffs fans. Good game

Agree 100%. Tirico did a very noce job. Now if we can just somehow lose Jim Rose. I listened to KFAB for about 15 minutes while taking my sone to a b-day party. About put a bullet in my head.

  6. "Outcoached, outplayed, out-everythinged by Big Red, Colorado (7-4, 5-3 Big 12) lost its second straight game and might have watched its trip to the Big 12 title game go down the drain, too. The loss left the door open for Iowa State, which will earn the spot with a win at Kansas on Saturday.

CU would back into the game against No. 2 Texas if the Cyclones lose. But really, after watching this complete dismantling -- an embarrassment not only to the program but to many of the trash-throwing fans, as well -- the words "Colorado" and "championship" simply don't seem right coupled together."

    and

"An embarrassing season that included their first loss to Kansas in 36 years now looks much better for the Huskers. Their bowl destination certainly improved and a program that is already thought to be putting in place a great recruiting class surely wasn't hurt with this performance in front of a national TV audience on the day after Thanksgiving."

  7. We could of easliy quit when TT rolled up 21 points on the score board but we DIDN'T!  Coach Coz and Callahan kept those boys focused for 4 Quarters!  These Huskers battled it out until the end.  That is all you can ask for!  Remeber folkes these are kids that are playing.  Not NFL Pros but Teens for the most part.  Like I stated earlier...I am DAMN PROUD OF EM!!!!!!!!

    Me too. Frustrated, but proud.

LeKevin did provide me a nice teachable moment for my 7 year old son. I told him (after I quit sobbing), "See what happens when you try to be a show off"

  8. My point is, let's revel in the positive news for a while before we come back to reality (or Lee Pukenecht quazi-reality). Sports is about fun, I can got to work and be miserable. Some people are just so jaded they can't stand to have a light at the end of the tunnel feeling. Others, like me, rather enjoy taking the "glass is half" fill approach.

  9. I can't stand stories like this. Hate it, hate it, hate it. There's been so much Husker bashing this year, and it felt so good to see positive news after positive news coming out. The OWH can't let us live a blissful life for a couple weeks before it puts out a story meant to temper the fans excitement. I mean come on fun haters! There's very little to root for this this state, we basically have one big thing...the Huskers. Let us have our fun before you poop in our collective punch bowl.

I personally would rather look through rose colored glasses for a few weeks (at least) than have some jackass for the wierd herald jam reality down my throat.

  10. I'm so glad for all this good news. I am/was so sick of all the bashers out there. It's amazimg how many FWF's (fair weather fans) are in husker nation. Go Big Red, and congrats Coach Calli, et. al.

  11. One bit of good news for the Spartans on Tuesday was that one of their highest-ranked commitments, Justin Tomerlin, a four-star tight end/defensive end from Butler Community College in El Dorado, Kan., said he remains firmly with MSU, although he is planning to look at two more schools.

Tomerlin said he will visit California and Nebraska.

"I was talking to my parents and they just want me to take them," Tomerlin said. "But I know what those schools have to offer and it's not what I'm looking for. I'm still solid with Michigan State."
