  1. I can't beat up on Beach for defending his team, I'd do the same if I was in his shoes. I'm not going to sit here and say that CU will never make it to the Rose Bowl. I don't have a crystal ball to be able to tell the future or I would've won the PowerBall a loooonnnng time ago. All I do know is that if our paths cross again in the future it'll be fun to watch and you know it'll be a hard fought game. Talkins will be gone after this season and who knows who CU will end up getting.

Thanks BRI, good to hear from you again. If we are fortunate enough to get to the Rose Bowl one day I think it would be awesome if it was indeed against Nebraska, at least for me, just like I know some folks here would love to see an OU/NU bowl matchup or maybe now a NU/UT bowl matchup. We all have our favorites....

  2. I don't see how you all can have buyer's remorse, your move is a great move and a stroke of geniusness by Osborne to usurp Mizzou. Your brand of football is better suited for the Big 10 and you get to get away from Texas which for some reason seems to be the target of all that is wrong in some of your lives. Your road games I think are now a step-up from some of the road games that we all share now plus your BCS tie in bowl is the Rose which I think is a better trip than the Fiesta. If I was a Husker fan I would be tickled to death for this move, as I am tickled to death for Colorado to move to the PAC 10 and for many of the same reasons.

the two great rivals of the former big 12 block (the big 12 really is similar to the soviet union, except the big 12 does not care to hide its evil intentions) has survived and came out better than could have ever imagined. kudos to us.

    AGREED!!!!

  3. I understood what you meant and point proven, just like ya'll need to be able to take on ISU and Texas Tech before assuming victory in Columbus, Ann Arbor, and Happy Valley and then perhaps one day, for old times sakes it would be fun for a Rose Bowl matchup...

This is why Nebraska Fan has no respect for Colorado Fan - because there's none given, and there never has been. The difference between Nebraska and Colorado is this - we've been bad as often as Colorado has been good over the past 50 years. Yet despite this 90/10 split, all we get from y'all is a pointing out of our flaws.

Colorado never learned humility, and the respect for their betters that humility brings. Had they ever learned that, and based their rise to prominence on that, they may have been a team and a fanbase that Nebraska could learn to appreciate as a rival.

Since that proved too hard, all Colorado ever came across as was a bitter group, forever destined to hate what they could not become.

I won't miss Colorado in the least, and it'll be a cold day in hell before they ever sniff the Rose Bowl.

    Bring a jacket...

Sorry, didn't know I had to keep bending over without being able to fire a few shots back...

  5. They oughta focus on beating teams like Toledo and Colorado State before they start beating USC and Oregon.

Agreed, we do need to take care of those teams and ya'll can take care of Iowa State and then perhaps in a few years we can meet up once again, would be fun....

Pardon me for not finishing, what I meant to say was "They oughta focus on beating teams like Toledo and Colorado State AND THEN winning more than 3 games, before they start beating USC and Oregon.

Only problem for you and sCUm is that Nebraska will have played in the Rose Bowl on several occasions before the Puffs even get a sniff at it. But then again you can always watch it on tv.

Hawkins giving anymore ten win predictions this year?

Fortunately for me then, everyone still has to play their games. I don't know what Talkins is predicting for this season, what matters now for me is 2011 and someone else will be at the helm and just like Bo was an upgrade for Clownahan for you guys, I expect that we will be able to take advantage of moving into the PAC 10 with a new man at the helm and with the potential of a new tv deal, we should be able to compensate someone appropriately for their talents.

  7. Air Force is quite capable of beating most teams in the Big 12 and BYU has proven in its history of playing with most folks as well. Although I would be shocked if this does happen, mainly because of the exclusion of TCU, I don't think it dillutes the conference enough to keep it from BCS status.

  8. Just a guess, but I imagine CU fans are hoping UT stays out of Pac. They are finally where they want to be and would be bummed to continue trips to Lubbock and Stillwater over Berkeley and LA. chuckleshuffle

I don't care if Texas comes, but not the rest of the south division or the rest of the north as well....

  9. for a network whose full function it is to cover sports and especially college football, ESPN looks like a bunch of nubs in covering this whole thing....One minute Texas is leaving, the next they are staying, they are headed to the Pac 10, then the SEC, then the Big 10, then back to the Big 12 and so forth, they have as much clue as anyone of us here.....

  10. Colorado has a deal with the Pac 10 where they start competeing out there in 2012. We are not going to play the Big 12 schedule in 2011, so what will the Buffs do with their schedule to fill that hole? This could very well be a problem for other teams that have an agreement to move conferences for 2012, but who can't fill their schedule in 2011.

the answer to that question will have to wait until we see what Texas does and who goes with them, it is possible that the entire conference folds by the following year...

  11. Colorado WHO? :laughpound

They always considered themselves our rival (laughable in my opinion), wonder who will have to put up with them now? I wonder how other PAC 10 teams, and the Texas teams are going to like their flippin' student section and drunken behavior at their games? Amazes me how CU was the first one brought in...but I have to wonder if that wasn't because all the liberals out at Stanford and schools like them wanted to add the liberal philosophy that CU brings to the table?

Good riddance. What a wonderful marriage!!

    :LOLtartar

Laughable as in all the threads on this site of trying to figure out how to create a rivalry with Big 10 teams? Another question, how many games do you attend annually in Boulder?

the difference is that those teams (especially Iowa) want a rivalry with us, so it would be mutual. reciprocity is what always was missing for the cu/NU 'rivalry.'

plus, aren't the colorado boards blowing up? you seem to be here just to criticize our potential new rivalries because we never respected CU enough to consider them a rival.

Not at all, I think the Big 10 is a great fit for Nebraska just as I think the Pac 10 is a great fit for us. I am only commenting with respect to rivalries per all the definitions that have been given to me over the past few years on this site and how the discussion of future Big 10 rivalries contradicts some of the discussions I have had over here. Whether or not some people consider CU/NU a rivalry game or not is pretty irrelevant, especially now more than ever. I have never subscribed to this notion of respect to define a rivalry anyhow, Oklahoma may respect Nebraska but they don't consider Nebraska their true rival, they consider Texas their true rival and they hate them and do not respect them at all and vice versa. Like I said though it is really irrelevant now anyhow and I wish you all good luck in the Big 10. It was a masterfull stroke for Dr. Tom to knock off Mizzou and take their spot, kudos...

i do agree that most of the rivalry talk is ridiculous, except for with iowa. i think the rivalry with iowa will become legit. personally i did think of CU as a bit of a rivalry because they played us hard and they were usually good games. i also think colorado is a good fit for the pac 10. a lot of people here have extremely strict definitions of rivalries, but i think they can be a bit more broad, it is just a lot of semantics.

I cannot agree with you more....

  12. Will Terrel Pryor be a senior the first year you guys are there?

He will prolly go pro, but if not, no worries. Anyday, Anytime, Anywhere!!! We aren't running away from play Jake Locker on the road this year.

I was curious because I think it would be a treat to see him play live before he leaves OSU..

  15. I really believe that it is the liberal leanings that the academias have - perfect match. They will be sorry once they experience a game in Colorado though...can you see those Stanford higher ups getting beer thrown on them?:LOLtartar

I was at that game, Stanford vs Colorado 1990, great game...

  16. I doubt it, one of the remarks that I keep hearing during super-regional coverage and the reason why Omaha has the WS is because the players and teams regardless of schools get treated like royalty. So even though there may be a hangover from the Big 12 Football Title game how does that really affect baseball? Who are you really pissed about the 1 second thing anyhow, Texas or the Refs? Mack Brown didn't have the power to add the 1 second even though the conspiracy theory nuts out there want to believe that because Brown is a more public figure than the referee that put it there.

  17. Too bad there won't be one last game in Boulder, I wanted to go out with a bang. Endless stories of piss bombs, grandmothers getting beer poured over them, overturned burning vehicles with Nebraska tags and so forth, if you have to go out, go out with style!!!! lol

On a serious note though I wonder how many Husker fans will actually be just a little sad when they see Ralphie run for the last time come this Thanksgiving?

Count me in. I actually hope we cheer when our former Big8 bretheren enter the field this last year regardless of any true, or perceived, past acrimony.

I am with you, if this is it, then really what difference does it make, if UT was playing in Boulder and not joining the Pac 10 then I would want to see Bevo, same for OU and the Schooner, I want to go just to say I went to see CU/NU in Lincoln, but that's just me...

Let me know if you can make it this year BB. I gaurantee that T_O_B and the Captain's Crew will be there to help show you a good time. You bring the shrimp and I'll bring the Baby Back Ribs. The TG may be so good we forget the game.

    T_O_Bm

    :cheers:wasted:cheers:cheers:wasted:cheers:cheers:wasted:cheers

If I can swing it I will hollar at you...

  19. I would be surprised if OU scheduled any OOC games with Nebraska any time soon, I just checked out some future OOC games they have scheduled and they include a home and home with Notre Dame and Tennesee...
