  1. Is the Ron Brown situation slowing down Aarons LOI, or his he signing it later in the day?

Per Rivals, he has already signed.

    :bonesflag:chuckleshuffle:corndance:koolaid2::hellloooo:nanalama:worship:wasted:horns2:clap

Where? They haven't put him in the "signed LOI" category on the front page yet. He's still listed as committed and unsigned.

  2. Kid was on Schick and Nick, and was pretty dang funny.

Will grades or qualifying be an issue? I hope not, we really need some guys in this class for the WR/DB positions.

When asked if Bo was a down-to-earth kind of guy, Davie said, "He used our bathroom, so that was pretty cool." Also, when asked if he was tempted to call NU and tell them he was having second thoughts and might need to negotiate, he responded, "Nah, I'm no Mr. Cam Newton."

    Nice.

  3. Signed as per rivals website

Confirmed by the following tweet from the NU athletic department.

    Huskers Nebraska Huskers

    Next 2 #NLI are teammates from Spring, Texas. David Santos, a 6-0, 200 lb. LB & Charles Jackson, a 5-11, 180 lb. U.S. Army All-American DB.

  4. Not suprise. Figured this is where he would end up. The bigger shock is that he let the cat out of the bag to Rivals, talk about taking the air out of your announcement.

The Miami announcement does surprise me, but you're right about it being really surprising that he told Rivals early. I guess he's not all about the drama, which is refreshing.

Time to put the folks on the UCLA boards on suicide watch!

  5. FYI, tons of chatter that he's going to pick UCLA. Can't reveal where I'm hearing this since it's a subscription service, but it sounds like it'll be the Bruins. Never a sure thing, but consider NU a very long shot here.

Oh well, life goes on. Its just a matter of time before we start landing some of these big names on NSD.

Honestly, unless he's just interested in the academics or location, I would be baffled with this choice. Get trained up under the Pelinis versus working under a staff that probably won't be there in two years and that doesn't even have a DC right now (and the rumored new DC, Rocky Seto, is very much unproven)? How could a DL not pick NU? I was equally baffled with Owa. And this coming from a UCLA alum.

Again, this is just what the latest chatter is, not saying this is a done deal.

  7. Let's think of Rivals as the steak, and Scout as bologna. Here's an analogy for you, straight from Jim Gaffigan:

"Steak is like the tuxedo of meats... And bologna's the retarded cousin. If you're eating steak, something special's going on. If you're eating bologna... you might be special." :)

Does that make ESPN the Hot Pocket of recruiting?

  8. Thomas will announce between Oregon and SC at 5pm (pacific time) at LA LIVE'S ESPN Zone. So the question is, why make a formal announcement just to recommit to SC? Makes me think the smart money is on the Oregon Fighting Frosts.

But don't cry for SC for losing a few commits - they're on a roll these last couple of weeks.

  9. Just heard an update on Jalen, sort of. Basically the reason he didn't trip to UCLA last weekend was due to a miscommunication. Apparently he had a basketball game Friday night. Kind of telling that the Bruins staff could drop the ball on such a simple thing like communicating with a highly touted recruit about an official visit the weekend before signing day.

Basically the Grimbles have gone dark and nobody knows where he's headed. It's down to Miami, UCLA, USC, and NU. Sound like NU is on the outside looking in, but I don't think anyone knows if they were able to close the gap with the in-home. We'll find out Wednesday.

  10. This could be interesting now. I can easily see him getting all caught up in the "dream team" hype with Drew, Gabe Wright, et al at Georgia. However, this dream team rush of committs will put them over 25 commits including two four star stud LBs and leaves me wondering how much room they actually have. I really am wondering if one of the in state schools made a serious play on Kent.

True, though when have SEC schools cared about scholarship limits?

  11. The latest on Jalen:

Word is that Grimble is no longer committed to SUC, and will choose between Miami and UCLA. Apparently SUC stopped recruiting him, though that's really hard to believe unless they felt they were out of it.

    It really is not surprising.

From what I know, Jalen put on a rather large amount of bad weight, and it showed in his performance. Had a pretty down year at Gorman.

The SC spin is that they simply cooled on him, perhaps due to the reasons you just stated. Outside of SC, however, folks are saying that SC wanted to move Jalen to DT or OL (depending on who you believe) and that Jalen told them to take their schollie and shove it. Lots of buzz about Xavier Grimble considering transferring as well.

  13. No show at UCLA.

The deal behind this is that the twitter world is saying he will be a hurricane. HOWEVER, I am hearing a lot of whispers of maybe another school having a chance. Whispers from these people are usually 50-50 hit and miss, so I am not taking this one to seriously.

There are conflicting rumors going around right now. One is that USC made a late push to keep him in their class. Another is that Miami picked up major ground of late. And another is that he already committed to UCLA silently. Who knows? He and his dad aren't talking. And of course you can't count NU out completely since they had an in-home. I'll let you know if I hear anything confirmed.

  14. JP had an in home with Grimble the other day..might have a better chance then we think.

NOW THAT IS WHAT I LIKE TO HEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't get your hopes up on this one, guys. From what I'm hearing from probably the best UCLA football recruiting insider, it's about 90% UCLA and 10% Miami. He'll be taking his official to UCLA this weekend. Like I said with Owa, if football is his priority, then he should pick Nebraska. But it looks like he'll end up playing with Owa.
