  1. Still...I'd LOVE to see what Callahan/Cosgrove could do with USC's program.

How could I forget about the Song Girls..... :o

As long as they don't try to pass off Will Farrell in his SNL cheerleader costume. Or, even worse, one of their male cheerleaders with their sweaters, short white shorts frosted tips and their waxed, oiled, and tan-in-a-can legs!

  2. I thought Monte was interested in the job after Solich was fired and kind of po'd that he did not get an interview...or maybe my memory is mush...

You remember correctly. And as has already been stated, Ruud said on the Jim Rome Show that he thought there was no chance of that happening. Doesn't mean it won't happen, but there's also no reason to think it will.

Hmmm, maybe USC would trade a lil' sunshine, Sunset Blvd. and Pete Carroll for Cally & Coz..... it's worth asking, is it not?

Or a couple of their cheerleaders.... :corndance

  4. Kinda funny to look at this and realize it happens to everyone and it was only a couple months ago the media wanted to annoint this team as the greatest ever. Now that they are on the downslide will ESPN go out of their way to take pot-shots at their program?

First of all, it wasn't the "media" that annointed the 2007 Trojans the greatest ever - it was Stanford coach Jim Harbaugh at the preseason Pac 10 conference media day. But it's true that ESPN has been riding their collective jock for the last few years.

As a UCLA grad, I'd love to agree that the University of Spoiled Children will face the same fate as NU, but I can't see them falling nearly that far. As others have noted, they have a ton of injuries this year to major players. Plus they're still absolutely loaded with talent and continuing to get top recruits. This season is a setback, to be sure, but they'll rebound just fine next year. Carroll isn't going anywhere. He is almost on the level of John Wooden (God status) around southern California. Unfortunately, those bastards will continue to be the team to beat in the Pac 10 for the next few years at least.

  5. Keller out for season, unless Jan 1 bowl game, broken left collar bone. This is official

I'm really sorry to hear about the extent of his injury. The guy hasn't been perfect this season, but he's done a good job for us this year while continuing to show maturity and composure in interviews during this tailspin. I'm sure you all have read this story in the OWH, but I'll post the link just in case. It's a heartbreaker.

That article doesn't confirm anything. Unless you also have a mutual friend with SK...

What would I know, I just come on here and post whatever! I don't know anybody.

I never said that the article confirmed anything. What I said was that it was a heartbreaker in its description of how down Keller was after the game. Not every post is an attempt to start or confirm rumors.

  7. It was a good game to watch against the #17 team in the nation. The team played their hearts out. Isn't that one of the things we have been waiting for?

Are you serious? We don't play for a close game against the #17 team. We have higher standards. :restore

  9. To all those Paul Johnson homers, Navy lost to Delaware 59-52. That's right, Delaware, 59-52. I'm not saying that Johnson is responsible for giving up 59 points, but it's at least noteworthy that Navy currently is 4-4. If you look at his record at Navy, it really isn't all that impressive, though obviously he has improved the program.
