  1. "Our guys didn't do what they were coached to do," Pelini said of the play. "Period. End of story."

I find this to be very concerning. You don't throw your team under the bus like this. These are YOUR players, Pelini and it's YOUR responsibility to get them to play like you coach them to.

You'll find this out when you have kids. Bo's not throwing the team under the bus-he's just telling the truth. You can coach a kid til you're blue in the face but if they don't do what you've coached them to do then what can you do? When you tell your kid, 'Don't touch that hot stove, it will burn you!' and they turn around and touch it, what can you do? So how is it Bo's responsibility to get them to play like he coaches them? He can't go out on the field and hold their hand! My point is this: At some point, these kids are going to have to be accountable for what they are taught in practice. They are going to have to be responsible for their mistakes. No one says anything when these kids do what they were coached to do. Everything is fine then. But when they don't execute it's all the coach's fault. I'm sorry, I don't buy that. Do we have problems? Yep. But can we really blame all of this on the coach?

If you've played competitive sports, then you know that it doesn't matter how true Bo's words were, a coach does not publicly put blame on his players. That is something that is to be done in a private setting. Publicly throwing your team under the bus is how you lose your locker room. And yes, when players consistently do not execute, that burden rests squarely upon the shoulders of the coaches. It is their job (that they are very well payed for) to insure these young men are ready to play week in and week out.

Bingo!!!!!! I agree. Yes I'm disappointed and heartsick and all butt hurt like many in the Husker Nation are today. I'm not for getting rid of Bo or any other hysterical reactions,, but yeah I'm not ashamed for admitting that as a fan I was hoping and expecting more. I understand that the Huskers will lose games, but yesterday it was how they lost that has most fans, including myself riled up. Anyways I wish Bo and company the best, along with his staff, and the players expected to take the field next season, in hopes they take a hard lesson from this final game and get to working on not just fixing things, but moving towards becoming a top tier program once again.

  2. Wow! Too bad the Huskers will never get the chance to face a Jim Tressel coached Buckeye team. Jim brought his woes upon himself

and the Buckeyes. He should have lived out the ethics he talked and wrote about, by walking the talk. Sure, the program might have been

spanked pretty hard if he'd fessed up when he should have, but now it's really too little, too late to stem the damage done. It's sad to see a such a

respected coach and his program go down in scandal and shame. I don't think Bo will bolt for OSU under these circumstances, but the OSU coaching

search is going to be interesting when it gets underway.

  3. I'm skeptical of the rumor. Bo gets to be a part of the conference he grew up in and so dearly loves, starting next year, and I believe that Dr. Tom will give Bo anything he wants in the way of support and the freedom to make key decisions where he needs to, to find success. Of course it's got to be one helluva compliment to be getting such rumors and attention from the Canes camp.

  4. Thanks. I feel a little bit better. It won't erase my disappointment over Shawn Watson's strategy and leadership during the game, along with the offense making those oh so awful, critical mistakes that the Sooners took advantage of as they are coached to do. It's water under the bridge now. I'm stoked as a Husker fan to see the program going to the Big 10. I hope the Huskers prove worthy of being invited to this fine club in the years to come.

  5. I have no gripes with Boise State as a school, their football program, or their fans. Being in a conference that underwhelms, along with their schedules over the years is what has hurt Boise State over the years in reality, and overall national perception plain and simple, in spite of their loud and vocal cheering section in some of the media.

  6. Beebe was classless and clueless on how he handled this deal. Yes I believe he got death threats from the juvenile and borderline sociopathic morons that every fan base has in it's ranks, like it or not. While I understand his anger and being disturbed by such jerks, I'm not buying his claim of fearing for his life nonsense, when as other have pointed out, he could have gone public with what the idiots have harassed him with, and asked for extra security, or at least sent a faceless conference rep to present the hardware. I'm sure Dr. Tom would have made sure that Dan wouldn't have had to worry about a single hair on his chinny-chin-chin coming to harm if he'd come to Lincoln. He thinks he's got unjustified criticism now? Good grief! The man just threw an open 50 gallon drum of gasoline on the fire! Clearly he hasn't much in the way of political savvy under heat.

  7. The natural order of the universe has returned. The Aggies get flagged finally, but still beat the Longhorns, and the Huskers put together a balanced team effort over the ragged and woolly Buffs, that has them headed for the Big XII Championship game. Yes I was not a happy Husker fan last week either, but what can we do? All is well in Huskerland tonight in spite of the injuries, bad calls, and no calls, and the crazy ride it's been so far. Congrats Aggies for giving the Longhorns their lump of Christmas coal early, and above all Congrats Huskers! I'm hoping a p.o.'d Bo and company hit Dallas like a prairie tornado next week, and they come away with the final Big XII trophy to be had. Right now I'm a very happy boy indeed.

  8. I'm a Husker fan first, but the Texas blood in my veins that came from my Grandparents on my Dad's side, bleeds Aggie maroon as much as it bleeds

Husker red. Congrats on the win, regardless of what troubles the Huskers faced Saturday, both outside of themselves, and what they brought about

upon themselves. I hope the Aggies rise to the top in the new Big Tex Conference as I jokingly refer to it as. Just beat them Longhorns, and keep

on beating them. Texas A + M is a class school and program, and I'll keep rooting for the Aggies, except when they play my beloved Huskers. It's been

fun, and I'm sorry this matchup has come with controversy galore. Hope both programs can meet again in a BCS bowl, and maybe with the national title

    on the line. Good luck.

  9. I'm happy with the win. It ain't like Bob Devaney and Doctor Tom also didn't have their dogfight games with teams they were supposed to

put the big time whuppin' on as far as the college football seers predicted. It is what it is, as ugly as it was, we won, and congrats Huskers.

Bo is the right guy to take the Huskers to the Big 10+2 party. I sure in heck wouldn't trust the majority of arm chair generals here, that think

they know more than Bo does.

  10. No. He seems like a normal kid with the swagger of having had a really good day. If he ever get's too cocky, I'm sure Bo, and good old

fashioned reality ,will put him straight. It's all part of growing up.

  11. Let the rest of the new 'Big Tex Conference' vent their spleens at Nebraska. It's not like they didn't have

a lot jealousy to start with against Big Red. We'll see how they feel about things ten years down as it'll

truly be Texas and Oklahoma and the 8 dwarves for awhile, unless the new 'Big Tex Conference' can find a few

    other teams to join up.

  12. The Husker's season last year was like some long Twilight Zone episode, except it was an episode that Rod Serling scripted for

a somewhat happy ending, after the main character had suffered an odd and trying journey. The T.Tech game was frustrating, and the

Iowa State game was a nightmare. Fortunately the end of last year's Husker thrill ride of a season made it worth while.

  13. Whoo Hooo! Wonderful news! Other than waiting for the Big 10 to accept Nebraska's application, it looks like it's a pretty much done deal.

I have to give Chancellor Perlman and T.O. credit for their class act way of handling the news conference. I also like the fact that the truth

can pretty much shut up those that want to paint UNL as the bad guy in all of this. Whoops! You mean the Pac 10 was sniffing around down in

the southern parts of the Big XII?! Congrat's Huskers, and to the entire University. The future looks so bright, that they all are gonna' have to wear

    shades in Lincoln.
