One would hope he has some nice to say about Nebraska on his way to Ohio. After all he acted like a lunatic on the side lines and dissed the
fans in comments that were recorded and probably a lot of times that weren't recorded. What did Nebraska do for him? Made him a millionaire
that's what. Frankly if I was him I'd be on a Caribbean Island working on my tan with a mojito, a good book and no worries ever again.

I agree, if you look at the pictures from the day he was hired to the day he was fired you can tell coaching has been hard on the guy. He has alot grayer hair, hes got a gut now. If i were him id go live the sweet life somewhere else.

Im curious if he would stay here and let his kids finish school. As a parent it would be hard to deny your kids the chance to finish out there school days. But then gain why would you stay in a place that got rid of you.

Those fair weather Youngstown fans don't know how good they have it.
Clearly their national rep is better then that locally.

Rumor we hire a 5-7 coach...

I think it will settle down some as the staff gets hired here but lets face it folks. Its going to be a long time until the Cornhuskers suit up again and it will probably continue alittle bit after that. Especially if they drop a couple games in the beginning.

Don't hate me all at once...But I've been wondering how much he'll be able to see his grandson...Sounds like it's an important part of his daily routine and as much as his wife and kids seem to love the Corvallis area, I imagine it will always be "home" for his immediate and extended family...Is his Son and/or Daughter moving to Lincoln too?
I would honestly not be suprised if he tried to get his son to transfer to here. Your right he does seem to be a big part of his life so i wouldnt doubt he tries to get him a job here.

Kind of weird that Osborne and now Tressel seem to think the Bo is a pretty good coach. But what do they know they have only won 4 national championships in FBS.
Man, even i need to shake my head at that.

Which might also explain why he never acknowledge the fact that he was in town and turned down the rumors he was being pursued by Nebraska.

Let's not act like we know his agenda. It's more than just switching schools, it's getting up and moving your entire life. On top of that he has to assemble a staff, meet with current recruits, meet with osu recruits he wants to offer to come here, evaluate if he even wants our current commits, meet with our coaches, take care of all the behind the scenes coaching work like getting everything finalized to work here.
On a side note, hes been coaching at that school for 14 years. Can you imagine the crap he is going to need to get rid of in his house before he moves to lincoln. Or do you think hes the kind guy that takes it all with him.

Guys...as an OSU alum and long time follower of Riley here's something you should think about:
OSU is not even in the same stratosphere as Nebraska when it comes to resources and talent but if OSU (under RIley) and Nebraska (Under Pelini) played I would have felt pretty good OSU could pull off the upset or, at the very least, make it a very very close game. All of the entirely due to Riley. If Nebraska were to play Oregon you would feel good about Nebraska having a decent chance to pull out the win...Purely based on Nebraska HISTORY and not because of Pelini.
OSU has no real history (post 1960s) beyond Riley (and a lucky Dennis Erickson).
Nebraska has tons of history...very little of it to do with Pelini beyond a hilarious twitter feed and questionable sideline video clips.
All of OSU is now going to be watching Riley very very closely simply so it can finally be known if it was a lack of ability on his part (and those of his assistants) or he was the gem that most of football 'experts' believe him to be. Unfortunately for Nebraska, that's going to be revealed while he's the coach for Nebraska. You are the petrie dish.
He will struggle the coming year based on all of his experience at OSU. He runs a difficult offense to pick up. You will see flashes of brilliance just before the QB throws another interception. By season's end you'll be thinking "we can be great next year if....." and that's the same question OSU fans have had: Will the resources and talent at Nebraska, the qualities OSU could not offer, allow Riley to turn the corner and produce the "IF" and take the team to the top level. For those who have said Riley has done nothing...He took a team that hadn't won more than 5 games a year for 28 years and made them the 3rd most successful PAC12 team over a decade. That would be harder to do than to turn Kansas into a top team in the Big12 for a decade or Indiana in the Big10 mentioned in the same breath as tOSU, Nebraska or Michigan (lloyd carr era) for 10 years. Most of you don't follow the PAC12 but there wasn't a program who ever took OSU lightly during the Riley era when, prior to his arrival, they feared playing Montana more than OSU.
I get the angst but he will win at least 9 games a year and not embarrass you. You'll find yourself thinking "man, we looked good the last month of the season. Withour starters returning we just might be conference champs next year". Will Nebraska's advantages over OSU be the difference? Trust me, everyone at OSU will be watching too.
I like your posts. Please do more of it. Not all of us are brain damaged Riley doubters- actually very few of us are but sadly they seem to be the outspoken minority so far.
One correction to your post however- there is no chance in hell that Nebraska with Pelini would ever come close to staying with Oregon. None.
Oh please, get over yourself. You cant have a conversation with two different points without throwing out a gradeschool comeback.

Awesome work as always +1
I can completely understand the lack of inspiration to do a season long summary video. The end of the Pelini era though, quite a ride it has been. I would love to see one.
Another idea I had was perhaps a highlight video of Bo's biggest moments in 7 years. You could have the comebacks, the kick six, Westerstaches unreal catches plus the hail mary, Jacks TD run, the 99 yarder in the bowl game, etc. It's a shame his tenure ended the way it did and wasn't mutual. People can say all they want to, but he did a lot of good here and I would like to remember all the positives rather than dwell on the bad.
He did some good things

Speculating on what his record will be in 5yrs from now?... He's 61 now guys. My prediction would be that DONU is gonna age him in dog years. Corvallis was hardly a pressure cooker of stress and excitement. 5yrs from now he'll be 66-67 and feeling 75-78. TO bailed at 60 didn't he? I just don't see him pulling Paterno-like longevity here. Unless he's got a patch of Humboldt's finest growing in his basement we could see him developing a twitch or wandering O street with no pants on.
Good point, look how bad Bo aged here during his 7 years. Rilly is gonna look like this in 5 years if he hangs around.

You know, one of the things a writer once put. Bo Pelinis career are full of wins you dont remember and losses you do. I would like to say that even though it was nerve racking. Bo's teams had some great come from behind wins. I will remember them for sure.

This guy seems to have a really solid teaching model. We should be trying extra hard to retain him.

The possibility of Great QB play is absolutely mind blowing. That is something i have never seen at NU. To have guys who recruit qbs to throw accurate passes is just crazy. WCO or not im thrilled to see it.
If he can get a QB drafted from here at QB and gets on the field, it would be the first since Ferragamo. Crouch was drafted at a position not QB for those who remember him being drafted. And there were a few others drafted, like Gill, but did not play.
I would not call what Riley has run a WCO though. WCO tends to be more dink and dunk and check down to the RB. What we saw Callahan run. Riley's offense seems to use the WRs to stretch the field more, and put more pressure on a defense to defend the whole field.
Yea exactly, And crouch was a good player but he tucked and ran alot. Im talking about someone who tosses the ball 60% of the time and do it accurately. That to me would be amazing.

You missed the number one reason for firing Pelini. Eichorst could see that Bo was going to make it over the hump next year and had to act quickly. See Shawn has taken vows of celibacy and poverty and, if the football team were actually to win anything of substance (like they were obviously poised to do next season with Bo, Beck, and Paps) the riches and women would have rained down on Eichorst and he just couldn't live that way. So, he picked the absolute worst coach he could find (just ask BigRedPowerWagon or 74Hunter) and discreetly sabotaged any chance of the football program winning a title. It's a no brainer if ya think about it.
Oh lord bruh, you thought i went off the deep end.

I'll be excited when you go back to work.
I may just need to keep coming back. But here i go trying to throw around some good vibes and you poop on them.

We get some big big boys in the middle. Have some big n quick OLBs to chase them down on the edge and were golden most of the season.
