  1. all those rating Brown down lower than top 2, are insane. Yeah i may have a little bias, but currently Mack Brown has a streak of 19 consecutive winning seasons, 17 straight seasons making a bowl, has not won less than 10 games since 2001 which is the longest active streak of seasons with 10+ wins in the nation. (Stoops has 21 loses since then, Brown only 15) 8-3 in bowl games at Texas, 3-2 at UNC (Stoops 4-6) has not finished lower than #13, Big 12 Conference record 21 consecutive conference wins from 2004–2006, and the only thing Stoops has over him is Big 12 titles.

Just stating an argument for Mack Brown

Mack doesn't do anything but recruit. He's the epitome of a figurehead. He's just there for show while Davis and Muschamp do all the work. Texas has been winning off talent alone since he's been there.

  2. Highly doubt it. We don't attack much. We prefer our vaunted "bend don't break" defense that has taken us so far this season lmao.

Sounds like out "just throw, don't catch" offense

This game is actually going to be on TV? Who is the sick bastard that came up with that idea?

You guys will breakout on offense and beat us by 4 TDs. I'm okay as long as we can keep you under 30. God, why are we in this conference? LOL.

  3. You guys come to Waco next week to play the worst team in the Big 12! You can work out all the kinks then! I sure as hell know we won't even sniff a victory....or maybe even a first down at that. Luckily my best friend is a WR at NU (not the one you all are mad at) so I'm excited to see him. I would say that I hope he doesn't torch us, but I'm so used to getting destroyed that I don't even care at this point. Good luck (not that you'll need it) and welcome to Waco for those of you that are making the trip. I'm willing to bet that, despite the past couple of weeks, there will still be more of y'all than us haha.

  4. Appreciate the well wishes. I've posted a couple times around here. I have ties to the NU program as my best friend is a receiver for you guys right now.

I didn't think NU was going to get an easy win and has us winning that one in Waco. Without Griffin, I don't know. I'm not ready to make a commitment either way. Blake Szymanski is experienced, but as a previous poster said, he's no RG3. It certainly hurts, but it's not over until it's over. We have enough talent to win 6 games, I know that much.

  5. Their game ball goes to the refs. Don't even try saying the refs didn't bail them out at least three times.

Guess you didn't see the BU-NU game a few years back when they let a former NU QB give NU about 4 or 5 mysterious pass interferences that ended up costing BU the game? Refs didn't even bail BU out this game. What are you referencing? The punt that "hit off Bryan's foot"? Because it didn't touch his foot. The spot may have been bad, which I think it was, but the ball didn't touch Bryan's foot. Kick-catch interference? No. He was pushed into the guy by an NU player. I'm neutral. I love Baylor, but I'm going to Nebraska and my roommate is on the team lol. Refs had some questionable calls, but does that not happen in every game?

    NU: Swift.

    Baylor: Griffin.

  6. This is the kind of thing people need to get suspended for. They are giving Baylor this game.

LOL. The ball didn't hit the guy's foot on the punt, but the spot is questionable. Kick-catch interference, maybe...but could this not be a makeup game for a few years ago in Waco when the Big 12 let a former Nebraska QB ref the game and Baylor got about 4 or 5 mysterious pass interferences? BU had to send the tape to the Big 12 and file a complaint. As a neutral this week, this is nothing that we haven't seen every week in football. There's a blown call every game. You have to deal and move forward. I think Joe & Co. will and we'll see our guys drive up the field. Baylor is a good team so I'm not sure why everyone expected us to walk all over them. This is one of the most even games we'll see all year.

  7. hmmm....their CB mentions that after playing in Stillwater they think they can handle playing in Lincoln?? WTF?

Anyone who has been to a game in Stillwater and Lincoln would laugh at that ridiculous comment. OSU is not even in our ball park! Unless you add over rated and over exposed hamburger joints to the equation, then they might have a chance.

Although Lincoln is a WAY better game environment with way more people and way better fans, to their defense, it was OSU's homecoming and they were coming off probably their greatest regular season win in the history of their school. They filled the new stadium up for the first time in a while. With that said, it still doesn't compare to Lincoln on Saturdays.

  8. Can we get this thread back on track and say Griffin is overrrated, he'll never be an elite quarterback in the Big 12 or the NFL, and Baylor isn't beating Nebraska or A&M.

Chesire, you can say whatever you want about Griffin (RG3, isn't that cute) but I've watched him play all year and haven't been impressed at all. Yes, he works well with an offense that lives off of screen passes and 3 yard slants but that doesn't equate to being elite. Hell, Helen Keller could also complete those passes, so don't bring that 155 passes without an INT into this argument cuz I ain't buying it.

You haven't seen him all year. BU hasn't been on TV in every game this year, so unless you're coming from SoCal to Waco to watch a school that you probably have no connection with, that's definitely the overstatement of the year. I've seen him in every single game except the one last week, which wasn't on TV and was in Stillwater. Your lack of knowledge on the subject leaves me a bit dumbfounded. Yes, Baylor throws a lot of screens. As I've said before, I've also seen him throw perfect deep balls about 9/10 times and a lot of them while he was running out of the pocket. I saw him get hammered at the same time he was throwing the ball and still dropped it right in Kendall Wright's lap in the very back of the endzone from about 35 out (45 if you include the endzone). I'll leave you with this since you say the guy can't throw lol. What a joke that is lmao.

  9. Mel Kiper is a bonehead. He has wasted millions of minutes on the air blabbering (very boldly as he does) about who runs a 40, is this tall, benches such and such... and totally ignores what the eyes will tell the obvious sports fan who watches the game. He has no idea about what it takes in the NFL. He only goes by what he feels and thinks. He makes a living off of what he thinks players will be drafted, but never has imput after that. Just ask him how those great "can't miss picks" of Ryan Leaf, Trent Dilfer and Jeff George went.

As for Cheshire Bear.. welcome to the board. It's okay to show some pride in your Bears. It's appreciated by many, and way over due. Stick around and bring it on brother!

Haha my pride is in the Big Red, my friend. I leave Dallas to go to school at NU after the bowl game because my best friend and roommate plays at NU so we have to work the date around whatever bowl we go to. I just have a special insight to Baylor because my whole family has gone there and since I'm still in the area, I get to use the season tickets that we have haha.

  10. Maybe A&M but not Nebraska, not this year, and really, not any year soon to come.

No way does A&M makes a bowl, 2-5 with OU and UT left? They'll be lucky to get past Iowa St on Saturday.......

I think he was saying maybe Baylor will beat A&M, but not Nebraska.

Yeah, Exactly what I meant. Baylor might beat A&M but Not NU..

    :worship

First, you're from Leander? That's epic. I lived in Cedar Park up until the summer after of my sophomore year when I moved to DFW.

Secondly, my whole family has attended Baylor and we've had season tickets since I was a kid. I, of course, am an NU fan and future student. I've seen both sides of this with special insight to the NU football program and the improvements made and getting to see Baylor football up close almost every Saturday. This ain't yesteryear's Baylor team. I'm not saying they're the best in the Big 12, but if you put them in any other conference in the country excluding the SEC, Baylor would be a bowl team and would probably be competing for a championship in some. Robert Griffin will be one of the greatest QBs in Big 12 history by the time he's done. He's in the same mold as Vince Young with a few minor differences...Griff is about 2 inches shorter (VY is 6'5"), a little thinner, has a better arm than VY did, and might be faster (that's debatable). He needs weapons though. Kendall Wright is a phenomenal true freshman WR who at this point in his career, I'd say compares to a poor man's Jeremy Maclin. He doesn't return punts or kicks because the staff can't afford to get him injured. He's too important to the offense. Defense needs definite work, but this team is a lot better than it has been. This year isn't the year to go bowling for Baylor, but next year probably is in my opinion.

So now Griffin is going to be as good or better than Vince Young...there was a Baylor fan on here earlier saying he is better than White from WVU. And saying that he is going to be one of the greatest in Big XII history is a pretty bold statement. I have seen a couple of games and I was not overly impressed. He cannot throw the ball very well and had made some mistakes....not that NU or a freshman has not made any.

You realize Griffin is the only D1 FBS QB who's thrown over 100 passes who has still yet to throw a pick? YES, AND I ALSO REALIZE THAT THEY THROW ALMOST ENTIRELY SCREENS, SWINGS, AND JAILBREAKS. NANCY KERRIGAN COULD COMPLETE A LOT OF THOSE PASSES, WITH THE BAD LEG. You also realize that Baylor has only had 1 turnover in the past 5 weeks and that includes performances in against 3 of the nation's top defenses in UConn, OU, and OSU? DID YOU SERIOUSLY JUST INCLUDE UCONN IN THAT LIST? I said he was better than Pat White and he absolutely is. OPINIONS DON'T COUNT IN THIS TYPE OF ARGUMENT, IF YOU TRULY BELIEVE THIS THEN DEFEND IT. BY WHAT CRITERIA? Again, most people will continue to talk him down because he chose to go to Baylor over bigger schools. I've seen him in every game he's played other than OSU because I couldn't make it to Stillwater and there was no TV. He will be one of the greatest QBs in Big 12 history and if he continues at this rate, probably a first round draft pick. ASININE AND RIDICULOUS.

    Holy sh!t....

What exactly have you seen that screams NFL caliber QB? Chase f'ing Daniel won't be a first round draft pick, you're trying to tell me he is going to be?

He has talent, but he isn't Vince Young. Right now he is what Jammal Lord would be in that offense, except Jammal would have more rushing yards.

I'm not going to argue. You obviously haven't seen him play much other than flipping back and forth. He has an awesome deep ball. Check the first TD pass to Kendall Wright against ISU. He's dropped countless deep balls RIGHT in the hands of WRs who can't catch to save their lives, mainly David Gettis. He dropped one right in Gettis' hands about 50 yards deep rolling out of the pocket. As for Jammal Lord...Griffin is faster and can throw. They're not in the same breath. Griffin would be starting here, man. Just sharing my neutral opinion. The week after RG3 ran for over 100 yards against OU, ISU said they'd stop him from scrambling. They did. He went 21-24 for 280 yards and 2 TDs. As for Pat White, it's been said numerous times that RG3 is faster than he is and has a better arm. Is there any debate on either of those statements? Nope, unless you're just pulling info out of your @$$.

  11. Maybe A&M but not Nebraska, not this year, and really, not any year soon to come.

  12. In no way is this a gimme game and anyone who thinks so is drinking too much :koolaid2:

I definitely don't drink the kool-aid, but I DO think the baylor game is a gimme.

    :woo

Not so fast, my friend. I've seen both teams up close and as far as the conference schedule goes, this is the 2nd most winnable game for Baylor next to aggy. BU has a shot and if NU comes out flat, they'll hit you in the mouth. Don't forget that Baylor only gave up a TD to ISU in cleanup duty. I was there. The legit score of that game was 38-3. They're no slouch. With that said, I think NU pulls out a close one, 31-27.

  13. Maybe A&M but not Nebraska, not this year, and really, not any year soon to come.

  14. Favorite? Probably the classic 70-71 unis with the double-stripe shoulder and pant trim. '94 and '95 unis were cool, too, though slightly different.

Least? Early '90s all-whites ('91 game vs. Washington; '92 game vs. ISU). Mesh jerseys looked like crap without the red pants, and we played like crap in those games.

The solid white jerseys last year vs. colorado were much more tolerable. They look more like the cool all-whites of Texas and OU.

    Same here. Super classy.
