  1. This is just a great weekend to be a Husker fan! Thank you Mr. Warren! Even if he isn't directly responsible for all of these latest commits, it sure seems like he has injected a renewed enthusiasm in recruiting among the coaches that were already here. #BOOM!!!!! :leghump:

  2. Sign him, bury him on the depth chart just so nobody else can have him unless he transfers in a couple years? I didn't know Texass was in the SEC

That's stupid. Texas doesn't recruit players to sit on the bench. Obviously they like his skill set enough and think that he can contribute.

Sorry Im stupid. Didn't mean to offend you by posting my opinion on the subject.

  3. I'm sure the kid is great, but why are we taking five WR? Doesn't that total seem high?

After this season we will have lots of need for WR.

1 probably won't make it to campus to play baseball.

1 is a JUCO so he won't be here as long.

The others (I think ) have some kind of specific roles in mind- slot, big bodied possession receiver, return game.

WR's are usually the best athletes coming out of HS & can be moved around to different positions ala SJB. Im no expert, but I don't think you can ever have too many athletes in a class.

  4. Just trying to look at the bright side here. Kevin Williams is basically our new DT recruit if you think about the year missed with injury. D line should be fine. Recruiting taking a hit for sure, but with the academic stuff coming out about him, it's gonna be ok. Need a really strong finish to this class to keep the sharks at bay.

  5. Its kind of a shame people don't see both sides of the story when it's right in front of them. Kids flip all the time this time of year. Look at our visitors this weekend: 2 kids currently committed to other programs. Joe Keels? Flipped him from Wisc. It goes both ways. Wish the kid luck & move on.

  6. (disclaimer: i do not know much about this incident)

i'm not going to judge a man who lets his peener out once in awhile. in europe they have beaches just for that because they understand the innate, animalistic urges real men deal with. it's natural and european. maybe he had to take an emergency whizz? then it is about safety.

I'm pretty sure that's how it went down.

    Sincerely,

    Kellen Winslow II

Maybe Moss was mas because he didn't know where Boston Market was....

  7. We just need to get to a point where we can walk up to whoever & give them an offer & they reconsider their current situation. This year it seems like we are doing the leg work for other programs finding these guys who are off the radar & getting them to commit & then Urban Fkng Meyer strolls in & says I want you now. & buh bye. Thanks for the hard work Bo, he's mine now. Same with Texass & Baylor & ASU & OU. It's almost starting to feel like we are the Chicago Cubs of college football in recruiting. We find good players & then the marquee programs roll in & take them. With that being said, I think we have a pretty darn good class. Who really knows? Wont know for a couple years. Good luck Slade. Ps, I will never watch "I'm Gonna Git you Sucka" again!

  8. I had an idea for "re-branding" the Blackshirts. Put a flagpole on top of the north suites & before kickoff of every game, have an ex blackshirt raise the Blackshirt flag. ala Seattle with the "12" flag. Give out black towels to all the fans. You wanna get the fans into it? How into it would they be seeing Grant Wistrom raise the flag before the game with Enter Sandman or something playing on the PA system? Defensive recruits would be falling all over themselves to get her just to see it in person. My .02

  9. If I were to make a playoff system, it would look similar to the BCS, except the games would matter. I would take the 5 champs from the AQ conferences & then the next 3 highest ranked at large teams with a max of 2 teams from any conference & there are your 8 teams that I would have in the playoff. I don't think you can limit it to only 1 team from each conference. You would end up with the SEC champ playing the Sun Belt champ in the 1st round or something like that. Yawn. 8 teams in my opinion is the way to go.

  10. 50/50 The talent on this team, Ameer coming back, Sanders back coaching DB's & the front 7 are all positives. Unknowns with the QB position, turnover problems & special teams are the wild cards going into next year. The schedule looks manageable, but we have to clean up that little stuff that has been holding this program back. Talent is not the issue. We have it in spades.

  11. Listening to McKewon today on the radio, it sounded like this was another under the radar kid with a big upside & more importantly, a foot in the door at a Louisiana HS that cranks out D1 talent on a regular basis. Welcome aboard Jariah.

  12. Rick Reilly - he's a great writer. Not surprised coming from him.

I love listening to him & reading him. I love him even more now. Yes, the SEC has won the last 7 NC's, but the armor is starting to crack I think. The talent is spreading out around the country a little but more. Go 'Noles!

  13. The Ameer situation is a win-win for us either way IMHO. If he stays, well frankly we start the season with 1 of the top 3-4 RB's in the country. If he goes, it forces the other guys to step up to the big boy table. I think Cross could become a beast if he knew going into the season he had a chance to be the starter. Newby will have to grow up real fast & work on his ball security, but if he hangs onto the ball, watch out. Adam Taylor from all accounts is going to be a stud. Obviously if Ameer returns, it's a good thing.
