  1. Not only did Clemson get thoroughly beat, they looked...slow. I saw Duke wide receivers running right past them. Even Clemson's wideouts didn't look especially fast.

I think Clemson's days of challenging for a national championship are over; at least under Dabo. He really has to hit the recruiting trail.

I think he and those he trust are wanting to see how our line performs against Minny. If the line play shows promise I think he's N, if the line is what it's been, well... likely headed south. Just my gut feeling but I think the announcement comes before the Colorado game.

I sincerely doubt that's the case. As Decked said, I think he was a silent commit until OU started recruiting him hard.

For the conference I think this is great.  What I think of next instantly is so now how long until Nebraska football wins a Big 10 title?

No one knows but things just got a whole lot tougher conference wise with Oregon, USC, Washington and UCLA coming in '24 that I know for sure.

I instantly thought this as well. While this is great for the conference, it just got that much harder for Nebraska to win the Big 10 or even make it to the CCG.

    Umm... seriously?

It's about survival. It's about financing the athletic department. It's about not leaving a single stone unturned to provide what is best for both the athletes and the fans. Why on earth would Colorado have any shame? This super conference movement is going to be the death of college football as we've known it and I'm not sure how I feel about it. One thing I am sure about though is there's no shame in doing that which is needed to survive.

:rollin I'm guessing you forgot the press conference Colorado gave back when they announced they were leaving the Big 12. The President said they were leaving because the Pac 10 was a better "cultural fit." That they always had more in common academic wise with the Pac 10 than the Big 12. And if you don't believe me, go back and watch it.

To reverse course and go back to the Big 12 is a complete 180. It's basically admitting that the reason you left was for money; not for academic reasons.

That includes an alleged "rape" of one woman athlete by another, he said. That incident "went reported and, ultimately [was] not acted upon, followed by retaliation. Unbelievable stories. Not only as it relates to the acts but ... reaction to it," Salvi told the Sun-Times.

    That's the one. :thumbs

Anybody going to feel better from where the program is at if he says Matt Campbell's name? If it was Matt Campbell I dont see any husker fans believe he could change this program around.

If it's Matt Campbell, then I'm done. Imagine waiting all of this time, hoping for a homerun hire, only to settle for Campbell. I just couldn't watch anymore if this happens. I'd have no hope left.

Yes.  I don't want to have to switch services (I use YouTubeTV also).  Or....even worse, sign up for several services just to be able to get all the games.  Then, we are basically back to the crappy pay per view BS we had in the Big 12.

Exactly! Which is why this is terrible news! Imagine having to sign up for several streaming services just to catch all of Nebraska's games. And having to pay for each service, at that. Now, we're literally back to pay-per-view. The way it is now is the best we can get. You don't need any streaming. Every Husker game is either on Fox, FS1, BTN or the ESPN/ABC family. This would f#&% everything up!

What has me excited for this season is we have finally reached the end of the line. We're either watching December/January football or Frost is on the unemployment line.

This is really what it boils down to. Either Frost has a winning record and takes us to a bowl game, or he's gone. No more weekly questions about his job status. No more impending doom, cloud hanging over our head, etc..

However, for that very reason, this has to be the least excited I've ever been going into a season. Most of my family and the friends made at local watch parties don't give a s#!t anymore. We are just exhausted at this point.

I can't believe there are people on this board saying 5-7 or 6-6 is good enough to keep his job. Was it good enough for Solich? Callahan? Hell, even Pelini? Why should Frost be any different? What exactly is it saying if we go 6-6 or 5-7 and don't fire Frost? That it's now ok? Would Scott Frost even still be here if he weren't Nebraska's prodigal son, the last qb to give us a national championship?

Every year, the watch parties here get smaller and smaller. Fewer and fewer people are maintaining interest. Sometimes I am glad I don't live in Nebraska. Y'all should really hear yourselves. It's like living in a bubble. You can only hear what fellow Nebraskans are saying and are ignoring the outside world. You want to keep Frost if he goes 5-7 or 6-6; with this weak schedule compared to last year's? Fine, but don't expect the sellout streak to continue. Don't expect anyone to mention us in the media unless it's to lament how far we've fallen. You're worried about what message it might send if we fire another coach? Fine. Don't fire him and see how apathetic potential recruits get toward our program and continual losing seasons.

I am sure if Frost doesn't have a winning season next year, he'll get it done in his 8th, 9th or 10th season....
