  1. I like to think of myself as a fairly knowledgeable, learned football fan. however, after spending 3 minutes reading through these pages, i fear my brain is melting. i guess id better start drinking myself back into a football euphoria in anticipation for tonights game. :wasted

lol, yeah, it takes time. What I did was read one or two articles a night. It goes faster/easier than it sounds.... Air Raid was a fun read for me. It'll drain ya though.

  2. I honestly believe if we get to a 100,000 seats or whatever we still sell games out.

I love memorial, but would love it even more if east stadium looked more like west stadium and if south stadium looked more like north.

IMO another big video board on south satdium, brand new sound system and another huge luxury boxes and what not would really push this University over the top.

I want the streak to continue, but think it isnt a concern because Nebraskans will buy tickets...

    just my 2 cents.

It should be a Hotel, only used on gameday weekends on the east side, imo... That'd be sick.

but i agree, south and east should look like north and west.

  3. Missouri would have "Beast Mode" and "Get Money" as their mottos.

Beast mode was an acronym. As for get money...i think its pretty lame. as do most other people. but then again i am nearly 30 and white.

"Get Money" is from some very popular rap songs. Also, the urban dictionary explains that 'get money' is to obtain cash through any means necessary, preferably through some sort of hustling & Working-out and building body strength.

"beast mode" may very well have been an acronym, but its also a phrase used by Lil Wayne.... His record label's name is "cash money", but he's one of the top artist's who use the term "get money".... My guess is the team loves lil wayne, and just put acronym's to his stuff. lol.

  4. I dont agree with where he has us in relation to who he has ahead of us. Penn St will likely be an 8 win team. Oregon has way to many questions. Wisconsin has way to hard a schedule. Without going into it deeper those are just a few that we should be ranked ahead. I would have to look at others schedules and returning players to pick it apart any further. I think we are more in the 8-12 range.

Wisconsin is a top 15 team. easy. Im actually disapointed they aren't higher in other polls....

  5. Yeah we would have done better but with our 08 offense I think we would have won the National Championship.

Hell, if we had even one of the top players from 08, we would've challenged for the title.

    Castille? I think he could've handled the 4pts & 3 losses.

Ganz, Swift, Peterson? and we might've won the TT game.

  6. Brian Greise vs The Blackshirts

Seems like an easy vote to me.

If my memory serves me correctly, Peyton Manning was considered the best pocket passer in the nation that year, & we totally dismantled him to the tune of his worst stats that season. Brian Greise was also a pocket passer with limited mobility, so.....yeah, we would've killed him.

If you read Jason Peters' book Hero of the Underground, the chapter on that game is intense. They were like mad dogs straining at the leash to get to Manning.

I'd love to see that game replayed some time. I've seen it once, live on TV, and never again. YouTube highlights don't always cut it.

    thats a great book.

  7. I'm looking at purchasing Section 38 Row 64 tickets... A little over $300 per ticket.. Is it worth it? Anyone have seats over there?

I like endzone seats, the only part of the field that you can't see is the backside of the endzone. Otherwise there better seats imo.

  8. After living in Kansas for the past 4 years I have become spoiled by the roads here. Has anyone else here driven down "O" street between downtown and 48th? It's kind of embarassing for me as a Husker fan to know that people who come to town for their teams away games have to drive on that abomination.

As soon as you cross the state line it's like driving on a washboard and "O" street seems like an Iraqi city street that has had one too many IED's blown up on it.You would think that the city of Lincoln might concern themselves a little with the condition of one of their most used streets. It doesn't shine a very positive light on Nebraska when out of staters see the condition of our roads.

The roads in Kansas are like driving on glass. I know they have extra income from the I-70 turnpike for the D.O.T. How many Nebraskans do you think would be willing to pay on a turnpike between Lincoln and Omaha if it would improve our roads?

Just my little rant on a rainy Saturday morning with nothing else to do :boxosoap

I live on the NE/KS boarder, and see the differance daily. Its really night and day, how much better KS roads are. Even the backroads are better.

O street is just the tip of the iceberg, imo.

  9. During the tunnel walk at the end of Epoch's awesome intro, there was a couple of seconds of audio. It seemed to be the call from the B-XII champ game, in regards to 00:01. By the time I realized what was happening it was over. Am I nuts or did anyone else hear that.

I heard it, couldn't make any words out though. i thought it was an audio problem.... I'd like to hear it again, now that i know what im listening to
