  1. I wish you wouldve kept Cally and Coz...

Didn't Osborne "cut his teeth" at NU. Ya never know, Pelini might turn into

that lifer coach all Nebraska fans want.

I think Osborne put it best when he said Pelini was a Stoops type of hire. Someone who could move the program forward but also embrace tradition and connect with Nebraska fans. Pelini has that midwest background as well as previous experience here. I think he was the right choice. Of course we won't know for another four years how good or bad of a choice.

  2. Well I am partly a marriage made husker. Through my parents that is. Dad is from Missouri and grew up a Tiger fan. Mom was a husker from Omaha. Marriage ensues and my Dad is sold on the husker program following the go for two play in the NC against Miami. My dad raised us as husker fans ,even though he still watches Mizzou too, so much so that when my missouri puke cousins had tiger uniforms as kids my dad bought us husker ones to spite them.

  3. I think the photo is a fake anyway..... just look at the shadow caused by the flash on the left side of his face and body... the shadow would not look like that against a wall easily over 5 feet away.

If that is BO after the NC title game then NEBRASKA beat Texas because NUNN didnt fumble the ball.

    2141qwj.jpg

I'm pretty sure that was him. I heard before that photo came out that he was at Pat O'Briens in the Quarter drinking after the game. I know because I was pissed I was hanging around uptown instead of celebrating how much Ohio State sucks and trying to get Pelini to sign some NU gear.

  4. Hmmm....don't recall seeing a police blotter with Bo's name on it....think he was okay doing what he did, seeing he just won a NC....

These players on the other hand....what have they done to celebrate? Not much if I recall what last year looked like. ...you want to defend them?

They are at Nebraska to play football and they represent the university...they are receiving a free education as "payment" for doing so. I think the university has every right to expect that they would represent them in a positive manner, not having their name associated with the university in a police report or newspaper article about criminal activity.

IMHO there is NO excuse for this behavior, and therefore a No Tolerance policy is in order, if not to protect the player from himself, to protect the university's good name. These are supposed to be adults...they should be expected to act as such. And those that are not yet adults, have no business drinking anyway. The law is the law...if you think it is alright to be drunk in public, disorderly, assaulting someone, I suppose you will next tell us that it is okay to kill someone....after all it is only a law.

Certain members, past and present, have taken it upon themselves to prove they can't handle drinking alcohol. As a result, the whole team will suffer. That is the way it is, the way it should be - to put a stop to the behavior that the city of Lincoln had to deal with last weekend. Alcohol was the common denominator, therefore the ban on certain establishments and the warning on the abuse of alcohol is justified.

I'm not sure that I dissagree with some of your points or if I'm just trying to express an opposing viewpoint.

Both sets of my Grandparents were Teetotalers which worried me a little what with my belief that alcoholism is mostly inherited, and I wondered if there was something in their past that scared them away from ETOH (Ethyl alcohol).

My Parents only drank when I had leftover Beer while I was in Highschool..Mainly trying to discourage me from drinking during Football Season, but it became a ritual to down a 12 Friday night after a game.

I can't imagine many recruits wanting to go to a "Dry County" to spend 4-5 years of "the Best years of their lives" 'specially in the "Tundra" as many outsiders see us.

I also don't believe there should be an acceptable excuse/reason to drink whether mourning a loss or celebrating a MNC..although my excuse was just as lame..I drank because I loves the taste of Hopps.

I never liked the buzz that much, but it did postphone some of the sore joints until Saturday morning at my job at Hinky Dinky.

Now I usually forget to drink..but when I do, I stop after inhaling one or two because I get full. That..and it's not as much fun when you're legal (over 21).

People of any age should not drink if they can't stop, or at least know when to say "when".

While they may be "at Nebraska to play football and represent the university" they are also college students

with the typical experiences and very atypical expectations.

Do you penalize the whole team because a few can't exercize moderation?

If Melissa Midwest were to walk into a bar and bend over in front of me while I was playing pool, and showing off some naughty parts where her underbritches ought to be, It would take a lot less than a diet Lime Coke buzz for me to want to put my fingers in their Favourite place..

Not saying that's anywhere near what happened to DC..but it does give ya ideas about how an unscrupulous fan or even an agent, could end an opposing team's "star" player's season.

Are you somehow hinting that there is some conspiracy to get him in trouble? Also I don't care if the girl wasn't wearing underwear or whatever she was doing there is no way that justifies her being violated by a stranger. Your logic seems skewed to me in a way I can't even begin to comprehend it. I think Bo has a lot more leeway when it comes to drinking as he's proven himself reliable and responsible for many years beyond the legal drinking age. I can't be sure but I don't think Pelini got in trouble in college either. Then again maybe he didn't get caught.

  5. I think lucky will fare nuch better with a more run based system. Especially if they utilize more of Castille and the others. Should be interesting to see what they come up with. If we are fortunate (almost put lucky but that would have looked like an intentional pun) Watson will improve on the already good offense, especially in the efficiency category, and Bo can make enough difference on D to turn the tide in some games where we will be underdogs. Heres hoping he has a monster of a senior year.

  6. I took a picture of my dad yesterday while he was chewing and he looked pretty much like that. We don't even know he was drunk.

Sure LOOKS like it, but I'm just saying.

He was drinking and thats ok. Thats his privilege. There comes a time when certain privileges need to be revoked. Bo didn't violently assault anyone or cause problems to anyone. For christ's sake the man had recently been given his dream job as well as ending his other job on the highest note possible. So when the players act up and give a black eye to the whole team the whole team needs to step back, take a good look and fix themselves fast. If that means giving up some privileges then so be it. We do it in the military and though every case is unique it is generally a very effective tool. Noone wants to be the guy that makes it hard for everyone else.

Oh and the reply was simply meant to point out he was drinking. I wasn't making a counterargument to anything you said I was just adding my general thoughts about the topic at hand.

  7. I love Will Shields. I actually met him in Iraq when he was doing a USO function there. I didn't even know they were at our base and my SgtMaj starts yelling at everyone because almost noone showed up. So they give everyone the day off and I really didn't care still until someone mentioned him. Worst part though is I had a Nebraska beanie buried in a care package from someone and forgot to get it out for a signing. I hope he makes it. You can see how much KC has struggled since he left.

  8. Except, it really is a disorderly house if it had been 4 CU players, right?

Don't be blinded by your fanhood. This was incredibly stupid on all accounts, and they're going to regret it.

I doubt it's really going to amount to much or that it was as stupid as you say. It's a frickin house party. Now if there were wild accusations of brawling, drug abuse or even worse sexual assaults then it would be different. I almost got arrested by an Omaha cop once who told me to leave a residence while I was waiting for a safe ride hime. They didn't even resist arrest which is smarter than most of our players it seems like.

Don't be blinded by your fanhood and assume that CU is the only team that gets a bad rap. Along with this and the recent incident with Christensen and the ever persistent black eye of Lawrence Phillips Husker fans are on the defense everywhere they go.

  9. I live in New Orleans and Huskergear.com is my personal fav. Always fast, always accurate and quality selection. They have all teams at that including NFL so I can get my Chiefs gear too. Huskerhounds has an online store as well (huskerhounds.com if you were guessing).

    Amen. Huskers and Chiefs!

Hell yes...another Huskers\Chiefs fan! Too bad we had to suffer through a double season of torment. I swear every week by sunday I was pulling my hair out because of both teams.

  11. Anybody from OKC area going to the game, or having a watch party?

Let me know would love to go.

Would love to go. My buddy from Tulsa is coming back from Iraq around then and we want to go to the game (he is a stinking sooner fan but oh well). I just need to find some tickets. Having trouble locking on some that aren't ridiculously expensive.
