Chris and I own Virtual Impressions, the company that runs the shared servers that Huskerboard used to be hosted on. Huskerboard and some other sites the founders of Huskerboard now have their own dedicated server. (As of quite some time ago ... maybe 18-24 months?) We still help do some of the server maintenance for Huskerboard and were called in recently to look at what's going on with the server crashing from time to time, particularly during games when posting is at a high. I suggested to one of the Huskerboard founders the idea of a chatroom to alleviate some of the pressure during the games. He agreed it would be a good idea and wanted to see a demo, hence the reason for the post. We'll probably be working on this all in a way to incorporate the chat and the forums in the best possible fashion. I'm just the guy behind the scenes that helps keep the server cranking. I happen to bleed Husker red blood, and will cheer for our Huskers even if they go 0-11. I can't stand watching/listening to these games where we're getting dismantled. Adrian said before the game, something like, "The fans will support this team if the players and coaches give it their all." Kickoff return fumbled. Easy third down pass dropped by Swift on our first series. Punt coverage team commits a huge penalty interfering with the return man. Oklahoma State gets three easy first downs, aleady on our 1 yard line. I think I'll just go do something else. This is just a replay of last week.

Just look at all these posts....FAIR WEATHER FANS. Sheesh. GO HUSKERS. Have ever been a player, in any sport? Having the fans behind you is a HUGE boost. I'm so sick of hearing boos, so sick of people looking for someone to fire, pointing all the fingers at every person from the chancellor to the guy that cleans up the grease under the hot dog stand. I'm sickened at what "Husker Nation" is becoming. Support the team. Be a fan. In times like these the fans need to step it up and show their support. We've shown our respect to the visiting teams we flogged for years by cheering them off the field -- now it's time to do the same for our own team. Show them we're still behind them.
