  1. Nebraska vs. Oregon State
I appreciate the nod of recognition. What does it mean at this point? Nothing really.

    Oklahoma vs. Nebraska

Wait, how would this happen? I thought we'd only get a team from other than the Pac-12 if the Pac-12 champ was playing for the MNC. Is *that* what the guy is saying?

If you look at his MNC prediction he has Oregon so that would leave the Rose bowl open to choose whoever they would like.

  2. I wish more people would take this perspective. The years we have had under Pelini have been good, but not great yet. We all have high standards at NU? And want to be in the top 10 year after year. Please give him some time to grow. He show the potential, and just needs to get all of the pieces in place to have everything run like a well oiled machine. He can't do it over night and there will be more growing pains along with learning experiences, but if our painful years are 9 and 10 win seasons… and god forbid if we fall down to only an 8 win year… imagine being an Iowa fan. I have faith that our great years will be 11 to 12 win seasons finishing in the top 5-10 and either winning or making a run at the MNC!! I hope others have this same faith.

  3. Why does everybody believe Beebe when he says he got phone calls and emails? This guy's a liar, with his head stuck in the sand, promising big TV deals that don't exist. Why wouldn't he lie about emails and phone calls?

    :yeah

Or how about the fact that anyone can call or write something and claim to be something they are not; such as a Husker fan. Granted it's pretty pathetic to waste your time and energy doing something like that, but I would not put it past some of our lovely Big 12 rivals.

    Thanks for listening

See what I did....... I pretended to be Eric Crouch

sorry bad joke, but made my point

  4. I would have to say that yes both #3's had a bad day however this guy missed on key momentum plays to stop Texas, Gilberts big run where he had a terrible angle, the 3rd down play where he tried to bring him down with "a big hit" but Gilbert just turned into the first down, and who was the Linebacker that totally bit on the reverse and left his house so Gilbert could take his TV, chair, and snacks while scoring a TD?

I believe the LB was #4 Lavonte David that blew his assignment and bit on the fake.

  5. Sioux Falls station just had a quote from Bo that was something along the lines of I don't even know what FCS is they're our next appoinent and we'll be ready to roll. SDSU is going to be embarased, I keep hearing people say they are going to win like USD did at minnesota. I've just shook my head and said we'll see.

  6. Welcome to the bored Jay, stay around and chat with us. I enjoy outsiders opinions (especially when they talk so nice about us) on our huskers as we all look through the rose colored goggles on occasion.

    Hello everyone,

You can blame that blog on me.

It was a pleasure to be a part of the 300th Consecutive Sellout at Memorial Stadium last Saturday. And I must say that I've never had a response to anything I've written in the past like this.

I have received over five dozen emails from Nebraska fans from all over the country commenting on the blog. There's an awful lot of pride...and that's understandable, because you have an awful lot to be proud of.

And to Tiger Tim....let me illustrate for you....

The previous week, I was at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge. At halftime it was still a football game. LSU had kicked a field goal to go up 17-3. By the time halftime was over, 15000 fans had left to go outside, watch other games and drink.

At the end of the third quarter (24-3) Tiger Stadium was half empty.

By the time the game ended, there were maybe 15000 fans left in the 91000 seat stadium. 6000 of them were wearing red.

I am sure there have been times when Nebraska fans have left early. But they didn't on Saturday in a game that was over midway through the second quarter.

    Get my point?

Now, to the rest of you....thank you for your hospitality and your passion for college football. I do believe that we are a better football team than what we showed on Saturday and hopefully we'll show that when conference play opens for us on Oct. 10th.

You all have made me a Huskers fan forever.....

And, thanks for wearing all that Ragin Cajun Red to the game last Saturday :clap

    Sincerely

    Jay Walker

  7. This is horible news. He is an exceltent young talent, and I always want teams to be full strength when we play them so there are no excuses. Hope he can recover easily with no complications and come back strong in the future.

Here's to Griffin's fast recovery :cheers

  8. Just an update for those who care... I've moved on obvioiusly but Im still interested in how he does.

106 yds, 1 td and most of that came off a big run in a losing effort.

I'm sure I missed it in a previous thread.... But where is Q playing?

You peeked my interest so I looked it up, he is now playing at Northwestern State (Louisiana)

  9.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. He gets a little to excited for his own good sometimes...

    sometimes.

I love his excitment on the sidelines, eveyrone has made Bo settle down, which is understandable, I think Eckler has stepped up as the really out there go get em pump up the players and everyone around him guy. So what if he thought the MU gameplan was the best he'd ever seen, MU was ready for it and it didn't work out, can't fault him for being excited about how the kids were practicing hard. I hope he stays, we would be fine without him, but I think he adds a lot to the team and they're emotions.

  10. Cosgrove to Minnesota?

Picked up a few notes over the last 24 hours . . .

The buzz is Kevin Cosgrove is heading to Minnesota, apparently as defensive coordinator.

Cosgrove was out of coaching this season.

Cosgrove would replace Ted Roof, who recently joined Gene Chizik's staff at Auburn.

That's too bad, just as Minnesota got things turned around a bit we have to watch their defense fall apart now.

  11. I don't see how anyone could be pissed about making that kind of salary. I did a little bit of math and if you say Bo averages 70 hours/week (which I would say is a modest to high number of hours for him to average over the whole year) at $2 million/year he is making just under $550/hour, or $77,000 bi-weekly, or roughly $154,000/month (Almost as much as the $200,000/year guy in one month) I would say that's a pretty good wage, and honestly don't know what I would even do with that kind of money on a weekly basis or how anyone could complain about it. I think Bo is a good old boy who doesn't need/want more and I don't think the money really matters and isn't the reason he is here or why he will stay. Hopfully the extra money that gets offered to him goes to getting top notch assistants like was mentioned before.

  12. Sounds fair to me. If NU doesn't maintain ball control like they have the past 3 games then OU is gonna put a whoopin' on us. Bradford is a damn good QB (better than McCoy IMO). The key for NU to come away with a win is to keep Bradford and the rest of the offense on the sideline. We have to control the clock like we did against TT. Otherwise, look for OU to easily cover the spread and then some.

What makes you think that they won't be able to control the ball on long drives like they've done the last 3 weeks? Come on guys DRINK UP :koolaid2:

  13. I can see a very competitive game. It seems like we play much better on the road than we do at home. For us to keep it competitive the O will have to be clicking on all cylinders. This will be the most agressive D we face all season and our O-line will have to be at the top of its game. Ball control, ball control, ball control. We do have a slim chance at a win. GBR!!!!

I think you meant to say toughest most agressive D we will meet until the Big 12 Championship game when we meet Texas!!! :koolaid2::koolaid2::koolaid2:

  14. GOOOOOO . . .
