  1. Not sure how it is in other branches but from my experience, ALL enlisted go through the same Basic Training and it's pretty much a breeze if you're remotely fit.  Then, you'll go to the more specific training geared towards your actual job.  For some it's Pararescue (tough!), SERE Training (tough!), Navy Seal BUDS Training (VERY TOUGH!)....for others, like me, Intel, cake walk.

  2. Last year we had 4 losses total and one of them was a "kick you in the nuts" actual blowout. (Texas Tech) This year we have three loses and they are by a combined 13 points. But why is there a feeling of loss...or embarrassment that wasn't there last year? Is it becasue we were supposed to get smoked in the Big XII game last year and we almost won? Was Suh's Heisman talk a cover for all the other bad stuff last year? Or is it just the rumors that are making me feel so insecure about the team?? I guess being shafted by the bowls hurts too.... oh man.. I have never been less excited about a bowl...this reminds me of 2005 when Michigan was bummed to be playing a lesser team. I think that it was labeled the biggest mismatch of the bowl matchups...we all saw what happened. Nebraska wanted to be there and they didn't.

    Oh well...GO BIG RED!

    KILL WU (again)

  3. Not sure if Beebe has to say anything .....but it would be great to see him swallow his pride and say something along the lines of "We are so proud to hand this trophy over to the 2010 Big 12 Champions...the Nebraska Cornhuskers!" and as he lies to the entire country with that statement.....all of Nebraska smiles and sleeps better than they have in weeks.

    GO BIG RED!!

  4. I keep hearing about this Colorado team that is turning a corner and is ready to take on the world. I say that they beat an ISU team that wasn't that great to begin with...and they went down to the wire with a KSU team that I began to pity in the fourth quarter when we played them. Long story short....what Colorado is about to run into is a DEFENSE that is playing lights out. TELL ME THAT NO ONE WAS IMPRESSED WITH THE WAY THAT OUR BLACKSHIRTS SHUT DOWN A PRETTY IMPRESSIVE aTm OFFENSE!

I think this is a situation where Pelini sits Watson down and says..."I'm doing my part on defense." "Show me that you want your job by doing your part on offense."

We win this game in an almost (minus 10 points) 2007 KSU fashion. With HELU and BURKEHEAD runnning full steam my wife could quarterback this team and we could win!

Damn...this has been a tough week for husker football. Lets turn it around!!!!

    GO BIG RED.

  5. I see a lot of negativity surrounding the program and I agree it has me a bit on edge...but I rememeber last year, after the 7-9 loss to Iowa State. Now this game was unacceptable and gave us all a feeling of.."what bowl game?"

Now here we sit 9-2. We lost by 3 points to a top 20 team on the road. HA! Three years ago we would have taken that!

We are too critical. I think the items that we are bitching and maoning about are all items that the coaching staff is concerned with as well. I think they'll right the ship in time for Friday. In the meantime let's try to stay positive and hope for the best.

  6. Nope...your neighbors knew exactly what was going on (well that is if you live in Nebraska). The game was tough to watch. The fans of opposing teams had a field day..but hey again..we are 9-2 and still on track to accomplish the goals that we set out to accomplish.

Win the Big 12 and let those remaining pick up the pieces after we're gone.

This whole thing is getting worse and worse...

  7. For your own sake OU GET OUT OF THE BIG 12! Leave it before it implodes or before they start to turn on you!

I have always respected Oklahoma fans and I hate to see them have to deal with a Big 12 implosion.

I think we respect Sooner Fans because they aren't like the rest of the Big 12 fans that talk a big talk....the SOONERS have been to the big dance and won their share. GOD I hope it's an Nu / OU Big 12 Championship game. F*CK The Big 12!!

  8. Honestly...for me...the game that I wanted us to win more than any I can remember was the 2009 Missouri game. Those fools got this idea that they were some kind of explosive team just waiting to dominate...NU just had to put them into their place. At first I was worried but we all know how it turned out. Now lets take care of these Texas f**ks and move on...

National Championship? Who cares at this point...let's just take care of business and leave a bitter taste in the mouth of every Big 12 team that we leave gasping for air as they watch Helu, Martinez, and Burkehead score.

    GO BIG RED!!

  9. Hopefully the Huskies can keep this momentum up....Locker already has a better game against the Trojans in the first quarter than he did in the whole game against the Huskers. A win against USC at USC would look pretty good for us! GO WASHINGTON!

  10. ..this may have been brought up already and if it has let me know...

But..as we approach our last year in this great conference (I say great because I can remeber the Big 8 as much as I can remember Full House). But...if you were to say good bye to a team with an old fashion ass whippin that will make them regret having a college football team in the first place...what team would it be?

I'll start by saying Iowa State pissed me off last year. Oh well they got lucky and they know it. But I would love to run up the score 77 to 0 on those poor bastards to the southeast...yep Misery. Hate em...no idea why....just hate em..maybe 123 to 0 is better.

  11. I don't have one bit of sympathy for Callahan! He took everything that made this school stand out from others..threw it out the window...put what he thought would work best into play and when it all fell apart...well he patted himself on the back and laughed all the way to the bank...

He played games to keep them close...not to win and he showed very little class in the process.

I will admit...there were some wins out there that were fantastic (Alamo Bowl 2005 and Texas A&M in 2006) but those happy memories are washed out by demorilizing loses to KU, Texas Tech, and of course Missouri....

Thank GOD he left when he did.

  12. Speaking of early predictions:

On a UT message two Texas fans are predicting losses to NU next year. Not to much disagreeing from the rest of the board either. Both are in agreement that they will lose to the Huskers. This even with there "great recruiting class." (I think they are #2 for 2010. Big 12 Ship showed that doesn't matter.) One just has them losing in the regular season the other say they will lose to Nebraska and Texas A&M at home, but avenge the Nebraska loss with a win over them in the Big 12 Championship.

TEXAS can only escape Nebraska for so long. We have played them to the wire in every game except 2003 (and 1999 of course). Hell, even in 2007 we almost escaped with a W. Texas' reign over the Big 12 will be coming to an end soon. Nebraska has an amazing chance to jump on top! We deserve the hype for this upcoming season!
