  1. Maybe if we punt on first down we can rely on our D to score some points for us. No but all in truth, I really think our D can keep us in it more than you think. If our O doesn't give up any points I could see us keeping it within a touchdown....at least I hope

  2. I agree that our defense didn't cause any turnovers, however Iowa State didn't really give us a chance with how conservative they played. The blackshirts played amazing once again and I really think we have one of the top 5 units in the country. Honestly it just shows how anemic our offense is. Giving up 9 points when your offense turns the ball over 8 times is something to be praised on.

  3. I'll be the first one to say that I have enjoyed Watson's offense for the last two seasons. We have be extremely efficient in both aspects of offense. However, something is different in the offense this year. Maybe Joe Ganz really was that good and we took him for granted. Also, I know Bo may not have a great deal to say regarding the offense, but he is the head coach and should have some part in it. In the late 3rd quarter Saturday when we sustained a drive for about 7 minutes leaking into the fourth quarter (coming up with a big 0) we looked like a team with no urgency. We looked like we were up by 21 milking the play clock to less than five seconds every time. This is the area where I think Bo should impose his will. I know we want to control the clock, but when your down by 3 scores you gota mix something up. Any thoughts?

  4. I know its early.....but I can't contain myself. Me and 4 buddies will be at the game and I was wondering where everyone will be tailgating? We got parking pass for Lot 15A so hopefully that works out well. Also I was wondering whar kind of hype this game is generating in terms of Husker fan attendance? While it probably won't compare to the 2001 Notre Dame game, I could see us shocking some people with the amount of fans we bring to this game. I was at the Wake Forest game two years ago that became a sea of red and this is a much bigger game. Any thoughts?

  5. Hey guys me and my roommates are thinking about getting ESPN Gameplan. I was just wondering if and when they would put out a schedule of the games? I know Nebraska typiaclly gets a couple games on here every year. Anyone use gameplan? Any help would be great. Thanks!

  6. I continue to be amazed that Texas Tech gets so little respect. People are either oblivious to the history of this offense or just plain belligerent not to rank them.

Most of these preseason rankings are made based on what teams lost rather than what they actually have. Tech is being ranked on what they lost, but don't forget - this was a 10-2 team last year. They won't be pushovers this year, not in any way.

I completely agree. They strike a scary resemblence to what Oklahoma State was last year. Very far from a push over.

  7. I would agree that they will get them sooner than later. Bo has already made it clear they will not given away. I honestly think from the sounds of enthusiasm out of Bo over the first practice and summer workouts we could see them prior to the first game. Probably the week of to get the team pumped up for the opener.

  8. Nebraska coach Bo Pelini has always been strong in his football convictions -- even when he was a player.

Pelini shared an interesting story at a recent banquet that spoke of his assuredness during his own playing career at Cardinal Mooney High School in Youngstown, Ohio, back in the mid- 1980s.

One of Pelini's favorite high school memories came in a tight football game when his team was trying to qualify for the playoffs. Pelini, who played quarterback, was convinced that his team could convert a fourth-and-1 play from its own 29 with about five minutes left in the game.

Pelini told attendees at the recent St. Pius X/St. Leo Sports Night banquet in Omaha that he knew he could make the first down. The only problem was that he needed to convince his veteran coach, Don Bucci, who wanted to punt. And Bucci made the final decision.

Pelini wouldn't hear of it, the Omaha World-Herald's Jon Nyatawa reports.

"I looked him in the eye and said, 'Oh no we're not,'" Pelini said. "He looked at me and I said, 'Coach, you can go ahead and call a punt, but you're going to have a problem because we aren't coming off the field."

Pelini's team went for it, made the first down and scored a go-ahead field goal. And it made Pelini one of Bucci's most memorable pupils.

"I was a pain way back when," Pelini said, "so just so you know, I haven't changed much."

That confidence has always marked Pelini. And it's a reason why he's developed into such a successful coach so quickly in his career.

"Crisp fall afternoons at Nebraska's Memorial Stadium: I can't think of a better atmosphere to watch a game than at the "Sea of Red" at Memorial Stadium for a Cornhusker game. There's a palpable buzz that you can feel getting out of your car when you arrive to the stadium. And it only seems to get better the closer you get to the stadium. Shoot, I can almost smell the grilling sausages as I write this. The Cornhuskers' Tunnel Walk still is one of the most spectacular entrances in all of sports. And it still gives me goose bumps when I see how Nebraska fans applaud for both teams as they leave the field of play after a game. "

  10. Since there are three spots on here for the WR's and WB's and knowing the Jet and Irving are basically a given I have to try and help Nate. He did so much for this program and I think he really deserves some recognition.

  11. Quick question and any help would be greatly appreciated. Does anybody know if tickets to away Husker games are made available to the general public. Also I am extremely interested in going to the Virginia Tech game next year and know that currentseason tickets holders are given the option to obtain away tickets before anyone else. If any season ticket holders have not renewed yet I would be happy to pay full face value and more for tickets. Any info would be wonderful! Thank-you!!! GBR
