  1. Hopefully we can land this kid. That would be fantastic. :box

    Like I said, if KU does not get this guy, I will be shocked. Which sucks, because they are stock pileing good recievers right and left.

    Dad= KU alumni

    Head Coach= KU alumni

    The fact that KU is stacked in receivers could benefit us. Being that we lost swift and peterson gives him a great opportunity of coming in and seeing the field in a short period of time.

  2. I don't see what makes this kid so good. Am I missing something here. He doesn't have blazing speed. At 179 lbs he needs to pack on some serious weight to play at the college level. I admit I don't know anything about him. Someone please tell why he's a four star.

    At 6'2, he is about what all the good recievers his height weigh comming out of h.s. And he if you look, you will see that his 40 time is electronic camp timed, so its not one of those b.s self reported times. He plays for one of the best programs in the state of Missouri, in its largest class, so I'm sure his 4 stars are well deserved

    Noted.

  4. When you weigh the losses at certain positions versus the potential talent coming in, and key guys like Suh and Asante still being there to lead, I expect the defense to move forward this season. According to the Sanders article, the secondary struggled with defensive concepts early on. I suppose that's to be expected in a new system. Now with guys having been through over a full year in Pelini's defense, I expect they'll be more confident by the time they hit the field in the fall.

    Some things just take time.

    At least this year the D will REACT instead of thinking and reacting - 1 year in the system will make a HUGE difference for all the players.

    A confident secondary means we can unleash the front seven after opposing QB's. I'm expecting a lot more aggressive play calling. I like it. :clap

  5. From HuskerExtra.com:

    More QB chatter: Pelini was asked what level of interest the coaching staff has in Robert Marve, the quarterback who is transferring from Miami and has counted NU among the schools he is interested in.

    Are the Huskers interested back?

    “With Patrick leaving, it kind of leaves a hole in the class,” Pelini said. “So if it was the right guy, and the right situation, the right kid, it’d be something we’d be interested in possibly. Specifically him, I don’t know. But we’ll see how it plays out.”

    :corndance Sounds like Bo did his homework and made a decision on the kid. Plus Latravis moving to QB pretty much confirms it. Say NO to Marve :clap

  6. I'm not saying we can't use another QB. Just stating the fact that we can make it through the season with the three that we do have. I don't think bringing in Mavre will make us any better. We have two guys that are familiar with the system who I think are going to be a better option than somebody who threw 9 TDs and 13 INTs and was benched.

  7. They want a fair shot and open competition for the QB spot. Ok, but when he doesn't win the starting QB spot, then what? Is he going to be ok with riding the pine behind Lee or Spano and then potentially Green after that? I'm willing to bet no. He's already shown a lack of commitment by bailing out on Miami after one bad year when things got bad for him there.

    I say NO to this kid. Three kids at QB is plenty of bodies. Most pro teams only have three QB's on their roster for a 16 game season, I'm sure we can make it through 12.
