  1. Shouldn't you be off burning cop cars and trying to make the rest of LA look like the bomb zone that is the downtown by Staples? Lovely group of people, Laker fans.

You know thats a bunch of low life mexicans and n****rs doing that right? I live by the beach and the only time I go downtown is for the games and we leave right after. You are so bitter about Kobe.

Southbay, a word of warning - keep the racist crap off the Board. This is the only warning I'll give on this.

I'm 1/2 mexican so it's not racism when I say it and besides it's the truth - Look at the footage the video doesn't lie.

Rationalize it all you want. Do it again, and you're banned.

Then ban me whiteboy - You think I give a f#*k, what you think.

  3. I can totally tell that you are high brow Laker fan/ CA transplant. Keep thinking that radioactive cess pool of the South Bay is paradise.

Been a Laker fan since 1979, lived in Manhattan Beach since 1992 and I hope I die in this paradise.

  5. I think the difference between nub and those teams is nobody outside Lincoln thinks the huskers are a year away from winning a NC.

I don't think we are a year away, and I think many Husker fans aren't thinking about winning a NC in 2010. Just being in the hunt again, for a chance at a title, is what I would think many of us are feeling, but that's just my opinion. Yeah I know what opinions are like................. :)

    GBR!!!

Exactly. I don't think anyone is thinking MNC next year. The one thing we want is to be considered in the conversation. That's the next step after winning our division. You win the North and you're in the Big XII Championship. Nobody expects us to win that this year, but with development that's a possibility next year, and when you win the Big XII, you're in the MNC conversation. And that's fine with me. I don't expect to win one anytime soon - nobody should ever expect to win a MNC - but being in the group of teams that people think have a shot... yeah. I think that's possible next year, and hopefully every year after that.

I see no reason why Nebraska can't be in the same position as Texas, Oklahoma, Ohio State, Michigan (when they're decent), LSU, Georgia, etc. That's the echelon where we belong, and that's where we'll be soon.

The next step beyond that is being in the company of USC & Florida, who people expect to be up there every year. I have no idea when we'll make that step, and I'm not concerned about it. That's a huge step, and whenever it happens is fine with me, whether that's five, ten or fifteen years down the road.

So what happens if you finish this year 8-4 or 7-5 or 6-6. Probably won't happen but what if you have L's from VT, MU, CU, KU, OU, TT? It is very possible especially with the questions you have on O and the DB's. Will you be able to handle that kind of a season from Pelini?

All the DB's are back from last year that actually made a difference. I think 2010 is a good year to compete for a NC because the 70 guys that have been redshirted the last 2 years will be ready to contribute and add depth.

All the DB's from 2008 are back? I think the biggest difference between now and the 1990's is the talent at nub is not much greater than other schools in the North, let alone the entire B12

When ku has football history instead of BB history then run your mouth, ku has beat NU 2X in my lifetime and i'm 37 - I love how ku runs their mouth over 2 wins.

  7. Does he LOVE it like you LOVE CAPS??!!!11!!!!!!

Without Shaq, Kobe has zero rings. And if they don't win this year, the Lakers window with Kobe has shut.

I'm sure glad that window is SHUT!!!!! The Laker's could win 2-3 more in the next 5 years.
  8. I would have gave it to Fisher, but he played very well.

Next year LeBron and Shaq (mainly LeBron like every other year) vs. Kobe and Gasol.

I wouldn't count out boston at full strength in the east.
  9. I bet they say anyone except LeBron and Mo Williams, kind of like what the Nuggets said anyone but Melo and K-Mart. to get AI. It will be interesting though if the Shaq deal happens.

I guess the offer is for Ben Wallace and some guy named Sasha ? - Those 2 would equal the 20 million contract that shaq has for next year. I hope it happens because shaq is too old to make a difference late in the season anymore.
  10. I think were a year away from beating down everyone but I think Bo has the mindset that as long as we have more points than the opponent it's a win. It would be nice to be able to score a lot of points because one thing that does is give the 2nd, 3rd & 4th string players VALUABLE game expierence. That's why they used to say about Nebraska - NEVER REBUILDING - ALWAYS RE-LOADING

  11. Same with the lakers. Ariza should have been called for being out of bounce when he came from out of bounce to get the ball. He only had one foot in bounce when he grabbed the ball when you need two. Another costly by the officials.

I don't think in the pros you need 2 feet - I've seen that happen numorus times with the Lakers this year and they've never called it.
  12. Well if we're going to talk about individual instances...

How about the three times I saw (which is a good indication that there was more) Dwight Howard throwing his weight into someone to completely take them out of the play, thus getting an easy 2. Especially the late call on Derek Fisher for 'pushing' Howard when Howard was simultaneously pushing Gasol enough to where he was later on the ground.

Oh yeah, there was also a play where Howard was very obviously and very deliberately by any stretch of the imagination yanking on Pau Gasol's jersey on a rebound. The Lakers got the board, but you get the point.

How about Pietrus' foul on Kobe's jumper late that was deemed a no contact airball? Yeah, he hit him on the hand, but he hit him simultaneously with Kobe's release and prevented Kobe's hand from being able to flick through, most definitely a foul.

How about the 37 free throws the Magic attempted (compared to 20 for the Lakers. Over a 16:53 stretch from the fourth quarter until the last three seconds of overtime, Orlando attempted 18 free throws and L.A. attempted zero.

How about the Magic's 19 turnovers, compared to 8 for the Lakers?

Bill Simmons put it best, which is great since he harps on Kobe and the Lakers any chance he gets, when he says:

"You know what? I'd be more angry about the no-call on the elbow if the Lakers hadn't gotten screwed by calls all game. With that said ... that was like the Jordan/Russell shove in that an illegal play should have been called (and wasn't), and that play partially decided the game. Which always sucks. On the other hand, Fisher made the two biggest shots of this game and nobody on Orlando stepped up. Howard's last field goal came at the 11:12 mark of the third quarter. Orlando made one field goal in the last 6:30 of the game (including OT). Turkoglu went scoreless in the last 6:30. Lewis scored six points and missed eight of 10 shots. The free-throw disparity was so obnoxious that Orlando missed as many freebies as L.A. made. Did the Magic do anything to WIN this game? No. The Lakers fought for it and they deserved it. Period."

orlando could have put the Lakers away with FT's but it's there own fault they lost. With 2 days rest the Lakers are looking good to close it out Sunday night.
  13. Saint != good person.

I bet you consider yourself a good person, do you consider yourself a saint? ;)

As far as I can tell he's a good person by society's standards. People seem to think it's ok to judge the guy based on how he acts on the court (which is ridiculous), and even then, who here hasn't complained to the refs or talked trash or gave an opposing player an intimidating look.

Kudos to the guy for growing up so much after throwing so much weight onto his own shoulders at such a young age.

OH I am not judging him based on what he does on the court. Compared to a lot of other NBA players he hardly complains. I am judging him on his personal life and how he acts towards the Lakers Organization, which isn't saintly.

How does he act towards the Laker organization? Tell me because I live in LA and it would be in the papers. I listed my reasons that are fact as why shaq was a cancer on the team, now state your facts on Kobe. You know that the Lakers already stated that they are signing him to the max extention in the next couple weeks right?

Ok since you live in LA you should know this one. Remember at the beginning of last year just about every day he publicly on the radio a couple of times, and other sports shows that he wanted out. He then backed away from it, but it still isn't good for the chemistry of a team. I don't think that makes him a bad player on the court, all I am saying is that you don't get that with LeBron.

It was 2 years ago and even though it should have been handled internally it wasn't. When they got rid of shaq and he signed the new contract he was promised that the team would build a championship quality team. The Lakers didn't make any moves in 2006 & 2007 and he was pissed and so were the fans because they tried to raise ticket prices after 2 1st round exits. All the fans took Kobe's side on the matter so they all had a meeting and then they made the move to get Gasol and Ariza - So it was water under the bridge and the next 2 years they made the finals. Since that's all you got I'll list shaq's deficiencies for you again and you can decide who they should have kept.

    1. FLAT OUT REFUSED to practice free throws with the FT coach the Lakers hired.

    2. Refused to have foot surgery during the summer because it was his time. Instead missed the start of the season.

    3. Refused to lose weight at the request of the Lakers front office. But when traded to miami he did.

    4. Had hand signals that instructed teammates not to pass the ball to Kobe - (Confirmed by Laker assistant Brian Shaw who was his best buddy on the team)

    5. Mocked the Laker front office repeatedly in the media.

    6. Called out the OWNER Jerry Buss when trying to re-negotiate his contract during a pre-season game in Hawaii.

    7. Look at the old footage from games - The BENCH was misirable - No cheering for one another just frowns on their faces. Look a the bench NOW they yell and scream and encourage each other.

    8. Mocked the Lakers front office AFTER he was traded.

    9. Why was he on the bench at the end of close games? SEE #1

    10. Was jealous of KOBE BRYANT!!!!

  15. lebron left the court without shaking hands last year when they lost to the celtics and nobody said a word. Like I stated before I could care less if he does or not but this is the media making a story to get ratings. I remember when we were kids and being forced to shake hands and as many of you know rival towns are not too friendly torwards each other in sports.

  16. I could care less about the shaking of the hands but at that level you have to play the game weather your pissed about losing or not. The thing that really bothers me is the twitter thing - I don't give a f**k who's doing what every 5 minutes. I actually pay $5.00 extra per month on my Nextel bill to not recieve texts or send texts - If you want to motherf**k me call me and scream at me.
