  1. I know its a Heisman thread, but......

If you were an NFL owner and you had a choice to start your franchise with either Suh, Spiller or Shipley, which one do you pick?

Going with the cliche, 'defense wins championships' and pick Suh. Plus the lifespan of a NFL running back is what, 7 years? If he's lucky....

    GBR

Of the 32 people receiving votes only 2 are on Defense. #1 Suh & #32 Rolando McClain LB from Alabama

  2. They were asked who the heisman frontrunner is in their opinion and McShay made the case for Alabama's running back and Mel Kiper states that he believes that Suh should be in the discussion and makes the point that just because Nebraska is not in the National Title race and he is not an offensive skill player that his talent should not be over looked and Suh should be considered for the award.

VOTE FOR NDAMUKONG SUH FOR THE HEISMAN

SUH is the current leader but the others are gaining on him.

They had him in the pick list but took him out, apparently they don't

    want him to win.

  4. "Time for Nebraska fans to get a closer look at what they could have had if things had worked out differently for Bill Callahan. Blaine Gabbert has stepped out of Chase Daniel’s shadow to draw rave reviews from an adoring cast of media who regularly cover the Tigers.

After his sparkling starting debut against Illinois — when he completed 24 of 33 passes for 313 yards and three touchdowns, and ran for 58 yards and another score — some of the throng was ready to heave him into the Heisman Trophy race."

I'LL TAKE PELINI WAY ABOVE 3 YEARS OF GABBERT! If you don't have a defense a you are not going to bring home a Heisman. I am satisfied with Lee and a great defense that will only get better.

  5. Really? I'd much rather Oklahoma destroy the myth that is Miami.

    :yeah

I'd rather Oklahoma play well, so that if we do end up beating them this year it will look a lot better for us.

    :yeah

    GBR!!!

I have no trouble rooting for Oklahoma. I have always respected them. Now Texas is a different story.

  6. In the end the Loss will do more for the program than the win would have. Watch what happens from here on out. Nebraska is not ready to win a National Championship but this tough loss will give out team respect and lots of motivation. They will never want to feel this again.
