  1. I read somewhere that PSU will not host a night game the rest of the year. No specific reason given but it was one ESPN or sports outlet "expert" opinion.

ACC always gets the 11 am game slot... GT fans dont even care about the team as they still have not sold out a game yet. This will be low on the ratings/ time pole.

OK-KSU- I bet this will be either on FSN (day) or FX (night)..

    my 2 cents.

    And losing crick SUCKS!!!!!

If OU/KSU are still undefeated at that time...no way that is on FSN/FX. It would be #3 v. Top 15. I think KSU is already Top 20 right now.

  2. I am a very optimistic person, and it was nice to see the team not give up. A win is a win is a win. We possibly saw Martinez, Beck, and the offense establish some kind of identity against a better-than-average defense.

Good fortune, the field turf, and a sprained ankle probably were the biggest factors though. Bauserman couldn't hit water from a boat, and he was no threat to run.

Agree w/ all of it. I am hopeful for what the "diamond" formation can bring...i think it brings into account things that Taylor can do well. I do think we gained some identity on offense.

Hoping the secondary continues to improve whether that's SJB or someone else. Still say the lines need to get going sooner...just my $0.02.

  3. The O/D lines are what i don't get. Watching 2.5 quarters of that game, both sides were getting man-handled...our secondary is young minus Dennard. We lost a lot of experience back there but if the D-Line was getting pressure it would help out our secondary....A LOT! Same goes for the O-Line....you want to help a youthful offense...keep the other team out of our backfield. It happened in the 2nd half and it made a ton of difference w/ our offensive success

They looked like they ate too big of a meal or hadn't woken up from a nap until the 3rd quarter.

There were quite a few missed blocks, but some of those came from the RBs and WRs. Reed and Abdullah both missed some key blocks.

I agree...execution was hard to find in the first half but getting no push on the O-Line and actually getting pushed around had a lot to do w/ things too. Execution, as a whole, was sub-par, at best, in the first half. Second half was much more enjoyable....you could actually see the lines beginning to win the battles of the trenches. It just seemed to take to long to impose our will.

  5. Not to be a smart ass but maybe that is why Beck thought we could move the ball by having Martinez drop back and throw from the pocket. Our secondary play has not been anything a person should use to judge their offensive prowess.

LOL, I was thinking the exact same thing but didn't want to be the first one to say it.

^^^This. Plus i'll add to the fact from OP...."10 minutes" is about how long we looked ok the other night. Think "1's v. 1's" for all of practice is a better idea...

  6. How does this have anything to do w/ the thread topic or conversation about the receiving corp, in general?

This just seems like some statement to invite reaction...or trolling if it was a fan of another team. :dunno

I just read in an article from today about KENNY BELL :hellloooo that he had a tweet about how the USC team would have beat the Huskers. I hadn’t seen this tweet (since I am too old for Twitter) so I figured I would ask the masses in a thread with KENNY BELL :hellloooo in the title if anyone had access to this tweet that was made by KENNY BELL :hellloooo .

If you want I will give myself a warning for trolling though if that is what you think I am doing. <_<

Thanks for the article link...that helps. Seems like a different kind of guy, fun in all that he does.

Carry on...nothing to see here! :cheers

  7. :moreinteresting Does anyone have Kenny Bell’s lame tweet about how 2004 USC would have killed the 1995 Huskers? :moreinteresting

  8. So i am perplexed this week about the ISU-Iowa game...who the h*ll do i root for?

ISU was a thorn in our side a few times but i never really had anything against them. The Hawks...well, i don't know. Hard for me to root for them against a team from our old conference not from the SWC!

Need some help from the board, i guess. I want to root for our new brothers but this one is causing me problems.

    Any advice?

I had visions of a last ditch 2-point conversion going through my head allowing us to pull out the game like you guys last year. Too bad the Iowa State coach decided that our defense had so many holes that a 10 year old on crutches could have scored and just decided to keep playing until our offense forgot how to convert a 4th and 1 again.

Really bad day for the Big 10 in general. At least many of the teams pulled it out after stinking up the joint early in the game (OSU, Blue, NE). 7-5 is not a good pre-season weekend for the league.

Agreed. It was not an overly impressive weekend.

Hawkeyes. We all sleep in the same bed now. You don't want someone pissing in your bed.

    Hahaha! Very nice. No bed-wetting!

    +1 for go Hawk...cough, cough...eyes!

  11. BUMP - That was a VERY solid outing (regardless of competition) considering he's been with the team for all of a few months. He was in command of that offense the entire time. Definately looked like a senior out there. I figured there'd be some rust, but that offense looked like a well oiled machine. They didn't play down to their competition at all, and the OL dominated.

Very solid on the offensive side of the ball. I was a little surprised about UNLV being able to move the ball on them a bit though.

  12. @Marauder -

Congrats to you and your school on getting out while the getting is good! Good Luck this season...and i mean that because there are going to be some walls put in your way (as already discussed by our departure).

Have fun in the SEC and w/ bowl tie-ins in the future...you never know NU v. aTm could happen somewhere down the line!

As far as where some of the other topics have gone in this thread, those are over and done with....let's put it to rest.

We are Big X and you guys are now SEC! Props to all for seeing the light!

  13. It's funny listening to radio shows here today. OU myopic fans are worried about playing games at midnight in the PAC or suggesting such teams as New Mexico, UNLV, Boise, etc. to the conference since BYU/ND are out most likely.

Wow...you replace aTm, NU and sCUm w/ the likes of UNLV and New Mexico types = NOT WINNING!

  14. Dugout Bar in OKC for the NU/OU game w/ Stuntz to Crouch throw. Only Husker fan in there but i was a regular at the time, so when that play happened and i was the only one cheering...the cook shouted from the kitchen, "who the F*** is the NU fan!". After seeing it was me, he just turned around and went back to the kitchen.

I ordered no food that day! :dunno

100 or so OU fans and one NU fan...got a beer bought for me after the game. Good joint, good fans, good times!! Not sure that could take place in many other towns.
