  1. I hope he likes losing because South Carolina seems great at it. :LOLtartar

if there is one thing i cannot stand it is someone putting down a kids choice for school... hell if i saw right their d was better then ours for most the year... anyone else see that....

  2. There is a huge difference in the speed of the game from high school to D1 college. If you listen to the experts, they claim the only position where a kid could jump from the high school level to the pro level is the WR position because of the massive difference at each level in speed. QB is a highly skilled and refined position. Even though he's coming in early, he more than likely won't be ready to start by the beginning of the 09' season. Even TO didn't throw Frazier out there as starter until like the 4th or 5th game of the season his frosh season. If this kid is all that's advertised and lives up to everyones expectations here, I would hope the staff would work him in slowly like Ohio State did with Pryor this year.

work him in slowly... like they did with pryor... hell he was thrown to the dogs.... they did nothing on offense until he was their qb... all i have to say is if it looks like he gives us the best chance play him... he does remind me of pryor though... huh... he will be good either next year or the one after... i feel sorry of defensive coaches when he does start... let the kid get here first... and then see what he has

  3. If he commits, I sure as hell hope he redshirts.

you hope he redshirts?????? we have absolutely no idea as to the type of recievers we will have next year...... with a qb that can stretch the play... hell he has a cannon and i dont know if the other qbs on our team can do what we need to do to succed at running the offence like we need to stretch the field... but why redshirt??? if he is the best let him play.... right

  4. Brian Munson on 1620 the zone said he thinks that McBurse and Beanie Logan are the next two recruits that are most likely to commit

On the Giles thread, it was posted that Giles has us and USC “neck and neck.” While McBurse would be a very good pick-up, would the coaches be willing to trade him for Giles?

If Giles goes to USC fine... in my opinion McBurse is the bettter of the two... we will take both if possible i believe... but i say by far the better player is McBurse

I would take both, let them battle it out to see whos the back up and let the other red shirt with Tray.

anyone know what the latest on him is... lol.. anyone stalking this kids myspace... lol.. dont do it just asking

  5.

i think we are all forgettting about Khiry Cooper.... he is going to be something special... and we did the right thing by red shirting him... i know this was caused mainly by his baseball ability but he is flat out fast... we will get a glimps of him in action this year on the baseball diamond... and that my folks is one of the few deep threats we will have next year

Maybe this is a dumb question, but if he plays baseball doesn't he lose a year of eligibility? I thought that if you played any sport in a year, you lost that year of eligibility, whether you were on scholarship for that sport or not.

Actually it is a great question. I didnt think of that. I took the time to read on wikipedia about redshirts. here is the link for it. i didnt see anything that said if he played another sport it would take that year away. help solve this if ya can

  6. I know it pains me to say it because he's an Omaha boy and Ahman's nephew or cousin, but Niles is too, too slow. His running style is broken, for a lack of a better term. For instance Swift is a fluid running athlete, Lucky is, Helu is, Niles is not. What I mean by fluid is the player running smoothly. The main reason he took that kick back against San Jose was all because of the blocking. Then Dennard was still out running him. Paul weighs in at 210, maybe he should drop 10-15 lbs. may help him. But you can't really change your running style/athleticm. I think he's peeked out his potential, HS All American or not.

    P. Bates, while I watched him play receiver at ISU, actually looked to potentially be the better athlete/receiver then Paul. Much smoother player and he shouldn't have transferred from ISU and stuck it out at WR-imo. In hind sight, wish MacCartney didn't pull the wool over the kids eye and Bates signed with NU instead of ISU.

Hopefully Gillian has a huge spring ball as he's greatly needed to stretch the field. N. Paul and Holt are possession receivers. That or hopefully somebody else steps up????

He's mentioned in posts 4 and 9 of this thread. ;)

guess i need to work on my research... lol... he is going to be a beast

  9. Why are you complaining? How about these guys?

Todd Peterson. Nate Swift. Meno Holt. Niles Paul. Terrence Nunn. Mo Purify.

Nate Swift is my all-time favorite Husker, so I'm going to choose my words very carefully.

Our offense, besides Roy Helu, has absolutely no playmakers that can stretch the field. Our WR's don't really scare anybody. They are great possesion guys, but they do not deserve to be in the same breath as a Dez Bryant, Mike Crabtree, Jeramy Maclin, or Desmond Briscoe. I am worried about how we are recruiting WR's. I'd like to see us recruit more dangerous WR's who can stretch the field at any given time, and stop recruiting big bodied, possesion WR's.

is it a lack of WR that can stretch the field or a QB that can throw the deep ball? its not like paul or some of the other young guys cant stretch the field

I for one agree that paul and the others can and should strech the field. I also believe that we will be able to do that next year or the year after when we get Cody Green on the field. Look at what Pryor did for the Buckeyes. Green will do that for us next year if we let him.

  10. Hope we have some good news coming.

i could see us using him as a wr/hb type... he could so destroy defensive schemes... i see him coming in early and helping us out... it will be him and Cody Green making us go closer to a spread then we have been ever before... GBR

  11. He is going to be a beast :horns2

not only is he going to be a beast he is going to take the north by suprise.... and the reason that they arent talking about him like pryor is because he was hurt last year....
