  1. I thought that Carl was quoted in the paper that it was his fault the D-line wasn't as dominant. He said the game plan was to do a controlled pass rush to limit Reesing scrambles.

Exactly, the line played controlling the gaps where Reesing could get out and hurt them. The line (& coaching) chose to not gamble w/ deep penetration for fear of holes for Reesing to slip through. You saw our guys stand up early to keep proper spacing, trying to contain Reesing.

  2. when i saw burkhead play, he looked pretty special. if he plays, i do not think it is because everyone is so bad, i think it is because he is so good. i thought he looked better than Helu actually, at least he ran harder and found the holes better.

Looked better than Helu, get real! Optimism is cool, but come on...

i would also say that he looked like he has more raw talent than helu. he is not currently the better player, but he will be the better player soon.

i was not saying he was better than Helu, but he did run hard and found the holes that i think Helu sometimes misses. i have no delusions, Helu is the better back, but Burkhead offers a lot.

i was actually agreeing with ya! all i was saying is that helu is currently better but in the end i think burkhead will be better because of the same reasons you mentioned....

oh i know that you were agreeing with me, i was just restating what you were responding to to clarify to the person who told me to get real. i think you said what i was thinking better than i did and i should have said that when i responded to you.

There is no proof whatsoever that Burkhead finds holes better.

The best part of Helu's game is his VISION, not only his instinct but also his knack to find the right hole or create when one does not exist. His peripheral vision and feel for defenders is exceptional. That's what separates him. You are measuring Burkhead's small sample of carries and making a pretty strong statement that he finds holes Helu doesn't. You are comparing him to the best back in the Big 12!!

Hey we are all Huskers fans, but the adulation of Burkhead has to have a larger sample to grant him the comparative praise you give him... By the way, I love Burkhead as a Husker.

    Jonah Lomu...oh wait...he's not 270...and missing a kidney...

Did someone call my name? Who needs a kidney when you're stud like me ;O)

No, he doesn't look like Tiger Woods. He's Tongan, full Tongan. He's not half whatever.

Oh, he did run over that cornerback in the last game, near the sidelines I believe.

Anyways, just let the kid develop his own style. He doesn't compare to anybody yet because he hasn't put in a full body of work. Let's compare in a few years from now. This is fun comparing, but way too premature.

  5. He is not the coach of the year, and will only recieve votes from Nebraska vision Husker fans.

Not enough wins, too little composure. Just could not happen.

Mike Leach is a good vote. He made a promise to the boosters this, and it is the first one he has broken. Both the coaches from Utah and Boise have a shot, and Jo Pa will be in the running. Bobby Bowden has turned the Seminoles around this year. If they win the ACC who knows.

Bo has done a great job, but no where near what he would need. I honestly would not vote for him if I ever took part in this stuff.

Agree with you fully. Leach is definitely deserving. What he does year in year out with the talent he has is annually amazing.

  6.

Sort of a moot point on the duke recruiting. if i were given a chance between UNL and Duke I would take duke in a heart beat. No comparison for the undergraduate education between the two. Same can be said for stanford / the ivies.

You're kidding right?! If I was a football player, NU of course. Basketball player, Duke of course.

  7. You guys really need to watch the passing game closer. Helu can't hold Lucky's jock when it comes to this phase, in both blocking and catching. Helu routinely misses blocking assignments on the blitzes, he even admits this when asked by the media. There is a reason they rotate the backs. Helu is one heck of a talent running the ball no doubt, but he needs to get much better in the passing game for next year.

Caveman, Helu caught 8 passes against Kansas. He was our leading receiver (and leading rusher). I think you are way exaggerating that Roy "can't hold Lucky's jock." How "much better" do you need him to be for next year.

And be real with the "routinely misses blocks" evaluation, we all watch the games and that is some exaggeration. And yes Helu admits he needs to work on his blocking...his receiving...and his running. Listen to his whole interview bro.
