After seeing our Defense dominate like that, he must be realizing what he can be a part of.
-
This is the best possible performance we could've asked for.
- Defense completely dominated. The defense held Arizona to like 40 yards before their final drive or something like that. SHUTOUT!
- Offense clicked; got the passing game in there for wide receivers.
- Once we got 33 points, it was basically simple running plays. Bo coached respectfully and honorably. He didn't run up the score, which showed his dignity.
-The announcers only talking about Nebraska's domination and bright future.
* This game had to attract defensive recruits. We will probably be the only team to perform a shutout in the bowl season. Our defense looked like the best defense in the country; in Bo's 2nd year no less! They constantly heard about the praise from the announcers about Bo & Carl , so they know that they can reach potential to be in the NFL. And don't forget about Suh's domination for recruiting. These future defensive studs will have the hope of wanting to be the next Suh in their minds when they're considering us.

What a beast. Best of luck to him in the NFL, well.. he doesn't need it.
I'm going to always remember this:
"Damn it, Suh. Take it easy for one friken' play."
VS Texas in the final seconds.
Haha who said that?
Nah, it was just something I thought of at that time.

I'm going to always remember this:

Some of those Arizona fans predicted the score would be 31-3!
That prediction wasn't that far removed!
That's great. They guessed that they would kick that field goal instead of going for it.
-
It's definitely possible, but it'll be tough..
October 16th. <----- Gonna be extremely hyped.

HUGE win, and the way it was won.
If the offense has production like this next year, it will be a very fun year.
-
To get him out of Nebraska?
What the hell did we do to TG & CC?
I'm beginning to wonder too.
I even remember seeing something on this board that was like CC joining "Fire Watson" club on Facebook.
-
IMHO Suh would've won the Heisman if we had won the Big 12 championship and had another loss turn into a win.
-
his previous offenses were wonderful.
Did you miss the previous post on how "wonderful" his offenses are? In 9 years of being an OC, he has had 2 years in which his offenses finished in the top 25.
That is not "wonderful" IMO.
When I meant 'previous', I was referring to his past couple of seasons. These seasons had very good offensive production.
Watson is a decent offensive coordinator; he's not the problem.
-
That was one heck of a post; BigWillie.
I completely agree, a lot on this board are not happy with Watson at the moment. Look what he had to work with, his previous offenses were wonderful. It wasn't too long ago Huskerboard was worried about him getting offered a Division 1 head coaching job.
-
Eh, -double post-
-
Geez, take it easy, Suh.
-
Florida's DC Charlie Strong is going to Louisville! You've got to think that will affect Owa's decision . . . certainly should help our chances!
Agreed. Owa seems to be a lock for us.
-
He definitely needs his In-House visit from the coaches; hopefully the coaches change his mind. I kinda figured the receiver recruits take the big 12 championship game in two prospectives.
1.) = I can help this offense and hopefully start pretty soon.
2.) = This offense sucks. Who the hell wants to be part of it?
I really hope Watson describes to Curtis about last year's offense, and what it should & hopefully will look like in the near-future.

Friend, it all starts up front. You and your mom should talk about how bad the O-line is.
It doesn't take a PHD in football to see that our problems on offense include more than the QB play.
Not to long ago, a lot of us were praising Zac for rebounding after his struggles & benching earlier in the season. Sure, part of that was because Zac was motivated to prove everyone wrong. But in the previous couple of games, our offensive line did fairly decent. This allowed more from the running game, and eventually gave him the time to throw. Against Texas, well, summarized in one simple word; were manhandled.
-
the whole country got a taste of whats brewing in Lincoln last night. even crapburger and s#%istreit were speechless. they had nothing to talk about because they had to throw out their guide to Colt McCoy greatness and weren't prepared to talk about the Huskers.
I think this will prove to be the turning point. A lot of recruites saw that game in Texas last night. between us starting to control the north and getting the O fixed..order will start to be restored. I love where we are headed.
These guys aren't even Bo's players. The defense will be even better in the future.
-
It'd be sweet revenge, especially if both teams are undefeated.
-
Nice post, well done Bo has done a great job so far. It'd be great to have a 10 win season in years of rebuilding.
Next year we'll take down Texas.

For what it's worth, Bo & Herbstreit played together @ Ohio St. I know he had some good things to say about Bo and recognizes that he is bringing the Husker program back into national prominence.
Good point Nexus. I was going to say Herbstreit loves the Pelini's and talks up Nebraska often. Sometimes you guys let your hate blind the truth. And that is that Herb will love up on Nebraska as much as any announcer in college football that doesnt receive his paychecks from UNL or didnt play for the Huskers.
I agree. Kirk likes NU a lot with Pelini being in charge.
But, don't forget this. Haha

The 9-3 regular season was the best record since 2006.
The margin of defeat in those 3 losses was a combined 24 points. The last time that our combined regular season margin of defeat was less was in 2000 when the two Husker losses combined for 18 points.
Nebraska was 2-1 in play versus the South Division. The last time Nebraska finished .500 or higher against South foes was 2001 when Nebraska went 3-0 against Oklahoma, Texas A&M, and Baylor.
Nebraska won all Big 12 Road games this season. The last time they won all Big 12 Road games was in 1997.
The Huskers finished the season by winning their final 5 Big 12 games. The last time the Huskers won 5 straight conference games was in 2001.
Point? Nebraska's headed in the right direction. Instead of bitching about our "anemic offense" or talking about who to fire from the staff, celebrate. The future is looking bright.
Go Big Red! Beat Texas!
Man, well done finding that information! There'll be more of that when we take Texas down.
-
There's really a legit shot that O.O will end up in red! He'd be a wonderful addition for the blackshirt defense!
-
I'm getting high hopes for next years class.......
I hope it's justified....
I know! The more we hear about these 2011 studs, the better it looks for next year's class.
-
That's terrible, best of luck to him. I hope their running game will still be fine for the season.

Eh, I voted for 12-2.
I mean our defense will easily be a top 10 defense. Probably a top 5. The offense just has to prove itself a bit more and be consistent.
My gut feeling is we'll beat Texas and become champs of a weakened Big 12, with a couple of close losses coming along the way. Bo's 3rd year can definitely be a very successful one.
