  1. With a full year under their belts, things HAD BETTER improve. I went to the Baylor and Iowa State games and I personally think it is absolutely pathetic that the QB has to run over to the sidelines to get every play. Does the offseason conditioning account for this extra running? God forbid Joe bust off a 40 yard scramble (like that would ever happen) and then have to run another 30 over to the sidelines to get the next play. At the ISU game, down by two scores late, NU still couldn't snap the ball with more than 10 seconds on the play clock because they coudn't get the plays in fast enough. That is UNACCEPTABLE.
  2. Totally agree with you there Benji. Two buddies and I made the trip from Chicago. That stadium, that night was the loudest place I have ever been in. Didn't hurt that PSU was stomping us. Had some bad experiences with a few fans and saw some pretty nasty fights near the student section, but overall everyone was friendly. Had a few cold ones with some PSU guys before the game, pretty cool to hear the other side of 94 and 82. Then of course it took us 4 freakin hours to get out of the parking lot after the game. They could definitely use another road out of that town.
  3. LMAO!!! Good for you. Hopefully he doesn't tear an ACL, then his MCL, his labrum, pull a hammy, snap his achilles, tear his rotator cuff, suffer a concussion, dislocate his leg, arm, finger, toe, head or anything other body part. I personally would never want that to happen to anyone.
  4. "Granted, PSU wasnt as dominant the following year, but youre changing the subject, 94 is the issue at hand. And besides, it tough to send the entire Oline to the pros, starting QB, tailback, WR, TE, and safety in the first round. QB, tailback, and TE in the top 10 might add, no matter how much you sub. unless youre miami. but recruiting at local prisons is another story." LMAO!! Ki Jana Carter turned out real well in the pros, eh? Kyle Brady? How many pro bowls did he go to? Kerry Collins, now there is an All-NFL QB. How many teams has he played for now? Should we both stating how many Huskers from the 94 team went to the pros? I'll give you a little tidbit, the entire offensive line was starting in the NFL by 96 (Graham, Stai, Weigert started for many years, in fact Weigert still does if I am not mistaken). Facts are facts, you can say the voters were sympathetic until you are blue in the face, you can explain away close games with Indiana and Illinois. The voters knew better, plain and simple. NU was clearly a better defense than Oregon, and Oregon held PSU to 36 points, WHEN PSU KNEW THEY HAD TO BE IMPRESSIVE to the voters. You telling me JoePa pulled off the dogs in this one too? NU scored 24 on the top ranked D at their home field, what would they have done with an extremely porous PSU defense? My guess would be 30-35 points. No way PSU scores that many on NU when they managed a mere 38 on Oregon. NU went into Miami a 4 point dog and won by 7. Did PSU even cover against Oregon? Please, that game was still in doubt until Carter's long TD run in the 4th. PSU played NO ONE. I believe #10 Michigan was their highest ranked opponent and they had 4 losses. And lastly, you show your true colors saying NU ran because they couldn't pass. I believe Steve Spurrier was quoted as saying the same thing in 95, worked out real well for him. Any idea how NU scored their first TD against Miami? LOL! Brook Berringer threw for 294 yards against Kansas in 1994, the most yards Kerry Collins threw for in 1994 was 328.............against 0-11 Rutgers, who lost to Navy that year 54-21......Navy!!! LOL! Thanks for stopping by but your arguments are just plain awful.
  5. Eric might be nice about this but I'm not. Are you kidding? That PSU team was so one dimensional it wasn't even funny. I supposed you'll break out SOS and Margin of victory....... NU beat #2 Colorado by 17 and #3 Miami in Miami by 7. Name one win on PSU's schedule that could compare to either of these. NU also beat #19 KSU on the road by 11. PSU beat no team ranked higher than #10. PSU only played only 1 team with less then 4 losses, USC, who was 8-3-1. NU beat 9 bowl teams, PSU beat 5. NU scored 24 on Miami's top ranked defense (including Warren Sapp and Ray Lewis) in Miami. PSU gave up 20 to an average Oregon team. How much would NU have scored on that pourous D? 30? 35? How much would PSU have scored on NU? Remember CU, a similiarly explosive offense (Kordell Stewart and Heisman Rashaan Salaam) managed all of 7 points. I think we can safely say NU's defense that year was better than Oregon's who held PSU to 36. NU 35, PSU 17 The voters knew what they were doing.
