Maybe the question shouldn't be "Should Bo Pelini be the head coach at Nebraska?" but rather "Is Bo Pelini ready to be a head coach?"
-
Yea, I want another teddy bear for head coach. One who won't scream at players or refs. One who coaches for the fans and not the players.

LSU is now being projected for the Cotton Bowl against Baylor.
Nebraska gets Missouri for the Outback bowl. Thoughts?

Does Huskerboard count as social media?

I'd like to see Taylor Martinez go out for a victory formation. Of course that can only happen if we are winning.
I don't think Ronnie K would have fumbled that ball if he had both hands on the ball, instead of trying to stiff arm his way into the endzone. The guy is pretty big, no need to push your luck.

This is gonna be a close one. Memorial Stadium needs to be rocking.

As soon as Bo and Co realize we the fans know the game better than they do, things would be much better for everyone
Nominated for Head Coach!

Who brings eggs to a football game? Someone who intends to throw them onto the field. I can see a student being the culprit here.
If it was flipped around and this was a Nebraska incident in Lincoln, we would more than likely find that it was a lone student, rather than a dedicated fanbase.
Point I'm making is that the actions of one individual shouldn't change our opinions of an entire fanbase.

Hire an NFL coach to bring the Huskers back to the glory days!
Oh wait, we tried that....

We SHOULD we against Penn St. and Iowa. It won't be a pretty road game to Penn St. But we should win. Iowa at home helps too.
I think the outlook looks good to not have that 4th loss.
-
Maybe Paps should go back to coaching the special teams again.
-
It was said all week that the keys to winning against the Spartans would be winning the turnover battle (failed), special teams (failed) and finding a way to run the ball against the Spartans with a banged up offensive line (Good, but didn't utilize it as much).

It was a fair catch signal, and yes, the call was legit. Just a boneheaded play by Davie.
Okay. I wasn't concerned about the interference call, it just caught me off guard that they said the single hand wave wasn't technically a fair catch. It struck me as odd that a player has to wave his arm or hand more than once to signal a fair catch. I wasn't sure if there was a difference between NFL and NCAA rules on that.
-
It was definitely interference, but the question is was Davie off the hook?
Announcer said that NCAA rules state that a single wave of the arm is NOT a legal signal for a fair catch, but rather a wave of the hand several times.
Can anyone confirm this?

My biggest fear is that Nebraska will lose, I'll get a letter from the IRS, and I'll receive another phone call from Planned Parenthood.
These things always come in threes.

Ameer has had most of the long plays so far this year. To be honest, we could have added a few more, especially in the passing game if certain long passes were caught.
-
I can't see Armstrong breaking a run over 40 yds. Martinez would be able to break at least 1 or 2 even when we lost. I think it in order to have big play success, we need to look in other areas than QB, like a big run from Abdullah or big pass play from Bell or another receiver.
-
I was driving back from physical therapy today, when I heard them talking about the lack of big plays on offense on 1620. I don't have all the numbers they threw out there. But the first one stood out the most. Last season Nebraska had 33 plays over 30 yds. So far this year, we have had 17.
We ranted about how explosive this offense was gonna be this year, but it would seem the Huskers have been lacking in that department. Some blame could fall on play-calling, but me. I blame the lack of Taylor Martinez. Say what you want about his throwing motion and decision making in the pocket. You could count on a healthy T-mart to run over 30 yds at least once a game.
I'm sure folks will argue and contradict what my belief is.

I liked the response.
"Whether we caught that ball or didn't catch it. We are the same team, and we have a lot of work to do."
Focused.
-
That is the fastest I have ever seen Ronnie K run.
-
I think eventually Tommy is going to connect deep with one of our receivers, and when he does, that stadium is going to erupt.
Let's hope he is on target and doesn't overthrow or underthrow the ball and get another interception.

No, biggest game will be in Ann Arbor. A loss there will be the final nail in the coffin. Losing the Northwestern game will intensify the outcry, especially if the defense plays horribly. But if he wins in Ann Arbor, he will win respect. Maybe not a lot, but he will get enough.
But if he loses at Ann Arbor, its a done deal. He or someone else is out.

Pelini responded, “Good. Really good. We’re exactly in the same spot we were a year ago. Don’t like it, but we were here a year ago and we ended up taking care of our business..."
I think that's a really telling statement. How in any way did we end up taking care of business a year ago? We got outplayed and embarassed in the CCG on national television (again). Where's the fighting instinct? This mentality can only bleed into the players' outlook. Shouldn't winning the CCG be the only way we took care of business?
He is talking about winning out in the regular season and making it to the championship game. That was the goal last year, and part of the goal this year. The other half of the goal this year and actually winning the championship game.

I agree with what Jay Foreman wrote today. He doesn't think the problem is coaching, nor do I.
Got a link for that article?

I just read today that picked the Huskers to face Georgia in the Gator Bowl.
