  1. certain games are not a gimme in this conference. I like that. I am interested in what other teams in this conference are doing and how they are doing it. For once I feel like I am a fan of a conference and not just a team of the conference. Go Big Red! Go Big Ten!

  2. I have never heard anything official on why Marvin Sanders left Nebraska. It's mostly been rumors coming out of people's mouth.

All I know is that he left citing personal and family reasons. I don't see where all the negativity was coming from since if there was any truth to it, USC wouldn't have hired him.

He is currently coaching a high school in Los Angeles. Loyola High School

  3. I'll start defensively.

    3rd down conversions - Rank #32 Opponent att - 47 opponent comp - 15 Percentage 31%

Kickoff return defense - Rank #8 Avg 16.5 yds per return

Interceptions - Rank #3 Tied with Missouri at 9 INT

That's pretty much it. Nebraska averages 2 sacks per game and 6 tackles for loss a game. The only positives statistically for individuals on the defense was Baptiste and Evans with 4 and 4 INTs respectively. Stanley is tied with 2 other players leading the nation in Interceptions.

    Offensively

Quincy Enunwa is in the Top 10 with 5 TD catches. Imani Cross is in the Top 20 with 5 rushing TDs. Ameer ranks #8 in the nation in total rushing yds with 465, needs about 200 to catch up to Melvin Gordon of Wisconsin,

Here is one bright stat, Nebraska ranks #1 in pass sacks allowed. 2 sacks so far tied with Navy, Air Force and Toledo. Nebraska ranks #4 in first down offense. (Wyoming ranks ahead of us by 7 first downs). Nebraska ranks #15 in scoring offense average 43 points per game. #14 in rushing offense and for giggles #78 in passing offense but completes 78% of its passes. Nebraska and Michigan St have only given up 1 INT while Michigan has given up 9.

Finally Nebraska ranks #58 in Red Zone offense with an 85% completion rate. Comparing them to other teams that have seen the red zone 20 plus times like Nebraska has, there are about a dozen teams that have a better percentage in the red zone than Nebraska does, the highest being Ohio State at 95%.

  4. Stanton said his knee and rehab were going great back in Feb. During fall camp a few questions came up about him and Beck said he looked good and it didn't look like he ever had a torn ACL. He'll more than likely keep working with the scout team for the remainder of the season.

  5. "We are prepared to put the matter to rest," University of Nebraska-Lincoln Chancellor Harvey Perlman and NU athletic director Shawn Eichorst said in a joint statement.

    What does that tell you?

That and Perlman and TO already knew about the tape and talked to Bo about it last year. The several day pause before the statement says to me they were hoping to out the source.

If that's true, why was Bo talking to the media this morning as if he had no idea if he was going to be disciplined? If it had already been handled in 2012, why wouldn't Bo's responses included something along the lines of "Tom Osborne was aware of these comments and the existence of a recording more than a year ago, and addressed the matter with me then"

I don't see what waiting has to do with outing the source. Something still seems odd about the timing of this all, the leak, the response, the NU statement...everything. If this was truly dealt with over a year ago, it would have been swiftly dismissed. Instead they let it brew for 2-3 days.

It could be because the statement released by Perlman and the AD came later this afternoon, several hours after Pelini talked to the media after practice.

Which it sounds like they are pretty close to knowing who it was.

  7. Not ready to call him Touchdown Tommy, not even if he does well against SDSU.

I love how some folks call him Touchdown Tommy, when he has yet to see the endzone.

Hopefully that will change this Saturday.
