How are some of you gonna feel if Scott Frost spits in our face if we offered him the HC job at Nebraska?
-
I was gonna say Tommie Frazier. Imagine that!
Bo Pelini - We don't need you.
Tommie Frazier - Oh yea? Well how do you like these apples? Hello, Deadspin?
-
Screw Bo for wanting to leave us 2 years ago. Screw him for the work he put in to temper down his sideline demeanor. We should have already had our new coach 2 years ago.
Sarcasm is angers ugly cousin.
I know, I couldn't help myself.
@BoPelini taught me so much In football & in life. I wouldnt trade my college staff for anyone. He has all his guys back 100%, all the time
I hope people are done talking about bo he is the greatest coach in the country-loves his team and we love him back you all need to relax✋✌
Husker Nation don't be so quick to judge @BoPelini. Which of us hasn't said something we regret? We're all human-especially me (ask my wife)
Truth RT @NdamukongSuh: This Man and His Defensive staff showed me how to work/study football to reach my potential http://po.st/tbMRE4

Screw Bo for wanting to leave us 2 years ago. Screw him for the work he put in to temper down his sideline demeanor. We should have already had our new coach 2 years ago. Finally screw Bo for getting pissed off because fans started leaving the Ohio State game early in 2011.
I'm sure players were upset about fans leaving the game early.

Bo is getting roasted for this nationally. He's just hanging himself.
That's just because the nation sees Tommie Frazier and thinks he must know everything about the situation at hand, when, frankly, he doesn't any more than you or I.
No. It's because after another terrible performance by Bo's team, with his job now in serious jeopardy, he dismissed one of the most beloved players in the history of the program for venting his frustrations. He should have given a more political answer.
Tommie has a right to complain. The product on the field has been pathetic.
Bo's job is in SERIOUS jeopardy?
Kirk Ferentz and Mack Brown has a hotter seat than Bo Pelini right now.

Bo makes our running QB pass.
We have no passing QBs.
-
Argeed, Tommy should play at the very least a half. That is if our defense can keep the Jackrabbits off the scoreboard. The last time we thought Tommy should get some playing time was against Wyoming and that didn't pan out at all.
-
We had a rough start to the season, it looked alright by the 2nd game, and the 3rd game was like Jekyll and Hyde.
So now that it has been 24 hour since the loss set in, let's ask ourselves how we see the rest of the season panning out.
I hope for a 9 - 3 record, but I see us with an 8 - 4 record with no shot at the Big Ten championship game and hopefully a bowl game win.
SDSU - win
Illinois - ?
Purdue - win
Northwestern - ?
Michigan - loss
Michigan St - ?
Penn St - loss
Iowa - win
My feeling is one of the three ? games will be a loss. Who it will be I just don't know.
-
Pat is not gonna leave his alma mater for Nebraska. He would have to be fired from Northwestern first, and i don't see that happening anytime soon.
-
I was at the game, but have to confess, I'm not a huge "who is on the field and who made what play" over all. I'll take my binoculars and focus on one or two players off an on, but not a big picture kind of guy.
A lot of us on here have been hollering to let the young bucks play and we'll take their learning mistakes. I saw some flashes, especially early, of great, old school blackshirt defense. But it did seem to me that the young guys didn't get the playing time they did the first two games. Is that accurate?
If so, should we have let them play more?
If not, discounting bad coaching, is some of the breakdown we saw today due to young guys just not adjusting as the UCLA offense adjusted?
I'd so like to believe that today's meltdown was at least partially a youth related phenomenon.
If it was youth related, then the tale of today's performance will be told several games later into the year...if they can bounce back and learn.
There was a phrase that was being thrown around today during the game. Growing pains. Games like this teach those young defensive guys that value of finishing a game. Playing 4 quarters of football, not just 2 or 3.
But I expected more out of our veterans.
-
On the bright side, our team showed that they were capable of mentally focused football.
....for a moment.
For the first 30 minutes of the game. Wait, make that 20 minutes.
-
I didn't see the first half of the game as I was fishing at a local lake, I should have stayed out there until the game over. It wasn't until I started tuning on the radio and watching it at home did things go downhill.
-
Beck just needs to get his head out of his ass. Paps needs to be demoted back to defensive line coach or something, and hire someone who can teach our guys how to tackle in space instead of sliding off guys like they are covered in butter.
-
Beck is making the calls...he is still an amateur...the whole teams is high school grade coaches.
Isn't this Beck's 3rd year as an OC?
There is no excuse for coming out in the 2nd half flat. I honestly think our coaches go into a game with 1 gameplan and stick with it, there is not deviation, not even if the opposing team makes adjustments, we don't make adjustments and keep doing the same thing.
-
Has College Gameday ever hosted an early game? It seems most of the time they host sites that have night games.
-
This is not a low scoring game. UCLA 52 - Nebraska 55.
-
I've read in a couple threads now that T-Mart isn't performing like he used to or he's underwhelming, not making the big plays.
Taylor always tried to make the big plays, this year its less about him and more about the offense. He is learning that he doesn't always have to force the big play, but depend on smaller chunks and use other weapons around him.

More than 35 points by the Huskers and less than 10 points for Southern Miss.

Curious if anyone is interested enough to pull up ypc and yards for all of Bo's losses. Put some numbers to the claims.
I'm still compiling data. So this isn't finished.
2003
Missouri - 4.8 ypc 211 rush yds 241 pass yds
Texas - 6.9 ypc 353 rush yds 131 pass yds
K State - 4.7 ypc 248 rush yds 313 pass yds
2008
Oklahoma - 4.8 ypc 193 rush yds 315 pass yds
Tex Tech - 6.0 ypc 137 rush yds 284 pass yds
Missouri - 5.9 ypc 201 rush yds 261 pass yds
V Tech - 3.7 ypc 206 rush yds 171 pass yds
2009
Iowa St - 2.9 ypc 137 rush yds 102 pass yds
Tex Tech - 1.0 ypc 25 rush yds 234 pass yds
V Tech - 2.3 ypc 86 rush yds 192 pass yds
Texas - 0.5 ypc 18 rush yds 184 pass yds
2010
Texas - 4.5 ypc 209 rush yds 62 pass yds
TAMU - 3.4 ypc 138 rush yds 172 pass yds
Oklahoma - 2.9 ypc 112 rush yds 342 pass yds
Wash - 5.2 ypc 268 rush yds 72 pass yds
2011
Wiscon - 4.6 ypc 231 rush yds 255 pass yds
Northwest - 3.8 ypc 207 rush yds 261 pass yds
Mich - 3.9 ypc 238 rush yds 180 pass yds
SoCarol - 3.0 ypc 121 rush yds 230 pass yds
2012
UCLA - 6.1 ypc 344 rush yds 309 pass yds
Ohio St - 7.7 ypc 371 rush yds 127 pass yds
Wiscon - 10,8 ypc 539 rush yds 101 pass yds
Georgia - 4.3 ypc 162 rush yds 427 pass yds
There are only 4 wins in which Bo's defense has given up more than 200 yds rushing.
Baylor 2008 6.5 ypc 216 rush yds
Ohio St. 2011 5.9 ypc 243 rush yds
Mich St. 2012 5.5 ypc 238 rush yds
Wyoming 2013 7.3 ypc 219 rush yds
I looked into Bo's wins as well, and at times we gave up a lot of passing yds but still managed to win. Some games were 200 - 300 yds in the air and still walked out with a win.
Non Husker games
2005 LSU (win) and Auburn - 6.1 ypc 230 rush yds
2005 LSU (loss) and Tenn - 2.1 ypc 70 rush yds
2005 LSU (loss) and Georg - 3.3 ypc 138 rush yds
2006 LSU (loss) and Florida - 3.6 ypc 90 rush yds
2006 LSU (win) and Ark - 7.6 ypc 298 rush yds
2006 LSU (loss) and Ole Miss - 2.3 ypc 100 rush yds
2007 LSU (loss) and Kentucky - 3.0 ypc 125 rush yds
2007 LSU (win) and Ole Miss - 7.2 ypc 201 rush yds
2007 LSU (loss) and Ark - 7.3 ypc 385 rush yds
2004 Sooners (loss) and USC - 6.9 ypc 193 rush yds

I was listening to Unsportsmanlike Conduct when they were talking about Bo Pelini's defense against the run and against the pass. They mentioned that overall Pelini has had a very good to decent pass defense, but when he loses a game 90% of the time its because the defense was unable to stop the run. I researched into it and sure enough most of the games in which Bo has lost, the opponents rushing total for the game was over 200 yds. Only in a few instances was the rushing total under 200 in a loss.
I wanted to look into it further to see if Bo has always had trouble with stopping the run in a loss. Even if it wasn't with the Huskers (Sooners and LSU).

Hey how come Josh Mitchell's tackle on the 2-point conversion not count as a sack?
-
Newby looked good, he just didn't look fast. At least not Ameer fast.Terrell Newby looked like the best player on the team, not sure if that's a positive, but I'm serious about that. No, Newby is fast, faster than Ameer. He has track speed, plus has completely natural, great moves and some power. He's the real deal.
At no point did i see Newby running faster than Ameer. I did not say Newby wasn't fast. Maybe its just that Newby doesn't have that initial burst of speed that Ameer does when he gets the ball.

Maybe Nick Saban has been offered to coach the Dallas Cowboys?
