  1. i must say just having got the big ten network a couple of weeks ago it was not a good fist experience .on the game finder on bigten.comit said with my zip code and cable company[charter] it said i was to get the penn state and nebraska games.so of course when i put the game onit was iowa on the tv.then when it was time for the nebraska game they put it on for a couple of minutes then they put the iowa gameback on .okay fine i can live with that since that was on first .so when that game was done they put the nebraska game on for about 5 minutes and then they switch to the other game and never switched it back .so instead of seeing penn state and nebraska like i was supposed to i got iowa and the illinois game .good thing i had the btn2go on my computer i was able to watch the game evan though it would have been better on the tv. just wanted to let you know how my first big ten network experience went.

  2. For overlapping BTN games outside of the Big Ten Confeence footprint, many of the cable companies (such as Charter, in my case) are only carrying the main BTN channel, not the spill-over channels. IF (unknown at this time) Charter will offer BTN2Go service (content streaming over the Internet) in our area, we'll be able to watch games via that service. If not, I think they have a for pay service streaming service that runs around 15 bucks that might also be an option. As for ABC/ESPN games, any of the regional games that aren't available on TV in a particular market are still available via ESPN3 or ESPN Game Plan packages.

Of course, ESPN3 and BTN2Go service both require you to have a suitable Internet connection AND your ISP has to offer the service, so it's not an option for everyone.

yeah thanks i have charter too that was my question before, you answered it. do you think btn2go is going to be offered to us .thanks

  3. it's going to be the regional games that have me worried. If we are on ABC/ESPN regional, and OU/MU is on at the same time...KC is going to be in the Big12 region, not the B1G.

I've never lived outside of the conference footprint before, how do they handle those games?

i live in massachusetts so i think that is considerd big ten country so i should get most of the games but im not sure how the whole thing works

  4. my head is spinning trying to read all about owa .i just hope owa , cooper and carnes all decide to be N but im trying not to get my hopes too high .it looked for a couple of days like everyone thought owa would be N now not so much.

  5. I think when it's all said and done, Brion has a very good chance of being N. Of course, Tommie will be giving him glowering reports of the glory days and the direction the program is headed. But I think he will see good opportunity here, and the visit probably went well. As has been reported before, USF may actually be out. I get the feeling the whole "It was an honor to meet Skip Holtz, they're still my #1" thing may be a smokescreen set up by Carnes, ala Fulton's "100% Vol" commitment.

Every once in a while, we snag a kid from Florida. Not common, but we do get ours. We snagged both Bell and Byrd from there last class, both of whom have good upside. Too bad Byrd never made it here. But I digress. One thing I've noticed about Bo and staff: in my eyes, they excel when it matters most, in home and official visits. By all reports, they do a great job when they get up close and personal with prospective players. They seem to be excellent at getting the guys they WANT. So, if Bo, Wats, and the rest of the staff really want Carnes as a player, I feel they'll find a way to get the kid N.

    thanks for the info

  6. Or Oregon and Colorado <_< , but Nebraska is still in it:
Brown will take two visits next week Defensive tackle Justin Brown (Compton, Calif.) visited Colorado last weekend, but couldn't make a scheduled trip to Oregon this weekend.

"I had to retake the SAT so I didn't make it to Oregon," Brown said. "I'm going to take that visit this coming Wednesday to Friday. Then I'm going straight from Oregon to Nebraska and that will be my last visit.

"I know it's going to be crazy but I think it will be a lot of fun as well. I loved my visit to Colorado but I wanted to take a couple of more trips so I had something to compare. With just one week left before signing day, I had to do a mid-week visit but I can't wait."

Brown has seen his stock soar in recent weeks and his offer list went from zero to close to double digits in just a few short weeks.

"It has been great and I'm excited things turned out this way for me," Brown said. "You always want to have as many options as possible. Right now, Colorado and Oregon are my top two but I want to take these last two visits and then really sit down and figure out where the best place for me is."

Only because he has not visited here yet. <_<

    [/quote

if the colorado visit blew him away i would think he would have a great visit to nebraska

  7. Don't know about the rest of ya'll but I would've felt better with a DEFENSIVE kid like Martin going down field covering punts and making tackles better than oh, let's say Hunter Teafateller, Todd Peterson, Menelik Holt just to name a few offensive players that were on our shady punt team this year. Experience can be a plus on special teams, but so can guys that will give up their bodies flying down field under control, and making tackles. Like defensive players should do.

thats a good point i think you would want a defensive player on the kickoff team

  8. I thought Bo told him he would have his shot to compete at QB??? :dunno

The only thing the coaches have promised as far as QB's is that Cody would be the only QB in this class and they are keeping to that.

According to the article from the LA Times, Martinez stated he will have a chance to compete for the Qb position. Whether or not that happens is yet to be determined, but I'm sure hell be staying a Husker.

I don't think he intends to go anywhere, i personally would give this kid a shot a QB, he has by far better speed than green and is a quality passer, 3,000 yards senior year. i think he would fit what we are looking for at QB just as well as Green would.

just by looking at the film i saw it looked to me that green would be the better prospect at qb but then im not a scout.

  9. Committed to LSU

wow... that sucks. things arent going the best right now

Yeah that sucks, but I think we are fine. If Martin comes aboard, it will cap off an excellent recruiting class this early in Bo's career. I think the coaches will still be very satisfied, even if no one else commits. But it is hard to see KU and CU get some really good commits in the month of January, while we have not gotten any lately.

Yeah this guy sounds great. :sarcasm If Nebraska had just added him people would be going ballistic.

Things have been a little slow, but it appears that Nebraska essentially finished its class when Ankrah committed at the end of December. Colorado is still scrambling. (Kansas' class looks pretty solid on paper.) Another top-of-the-line DT, DE, LB, or WR would be the cherry on top, but doesn't seem to be required. Otherwise coaches wouldn't be visiting walk-on candidates.

too bad he looks like he could be a good one in a couple of years
