  1. Associated Press Friday, August 5, 2005; 11:00 PM PARIS, France --

    Lance Armstrong's record setting seventh Tour de France victory, along with his entire Tour de France legacy, may be tarnished by what could turn out to be one of the greatest sports scandals of all time. Armstrong is being quizzed by French police after three banned substances were found in his South France hotel room while on vacation after winning the 2005 Tour de France.

    The three substances found were toothpaste, deodorant, and soap which have been banned by French authorities for over 75 years. Armstrong's girlfriend and American rocker Sheryl Crowe is quoted as saying, "We use them every day in America, so we naturally thought they'd be OK throughout Europe."

    Along with these three banned substances, French authorities also physically searched Armstrong himself and found several other interesting items that they have never seen before, including a backbone and testicles.

    :rollin:rollin:rollin:lol::thumbs good stuf mate!

  2. This guys is just awesome.  I loved reading his article in "Houndin' the Huskers" on http://www.coachcallahan.com/

    He just seems to mature and focused, and confident.  I love his response about why he came here:  "The people.  They treat you like family and try to do everything they can to make you feel at home, within NCAA regulations."

    I hope he gets a few plays at WR this year.  I wouldn't mind seeing him on the field for every play!

    Plain and simple, he'll be the best player on the field for NU. Hands down, most physically gifted player to set field in Memorial Stadium and quite a while.

    How do you know? you seen him in action kman?

  3. There was this guy named Ed Smith I believe who was this phenom of a bball playr from Northwest high back in 1993-94 period i believe. anyone else remember him or know what happnend to him? Also how about thos Benson track stars back in the early-mid 90s that were incredible but flamed out. rmember them? Ronnie somthin i believe..

  4. They used to serve booze in the stadium. i was out there in 95 and Ive never seen a more out of control enviorment. peolple running like madmen around before teh game with their pipes in one hand their bottles in another. and noon cared atall.

  5. Nebraska has its new artificial turf in place at Memorial Stadium. And the Huskers have a new policy about walking on it.

    Save for special occasions, like Fan Day on Aug. 20 and the annual drug-free pledge at the spring game, visitors will be prohibited from setting foot on the field. Associate Athletic Director Boyd Epley said he hopes fans will understand the rule was created for liability reasons.

    "We get a nice field, but no one is allowed on it? It replaces the fan-friendly feel with a business feel. They don't see unhappy fans, they just see dollar signs.

    "For all the money they spend on the turf, you would think it could withstand a few kids running around on it after the game."

    This is kinda crappy.

    hey nameless thanks for the stories. hey could you maybe make one post with only husker news stuff and another with other sports stories?? that would rock.
