  1. I saw a better QB with tons more potential out there today than Zac Lee. Just my opinion though. Once Cody has more experience he will begin making bigger and bigger plays for us. I'm confident that the future is bright for us Husker Nation. Patience is a virtue.

patience is a RARE virtue on message boards. and maybe rarer among nu fans in general.

this is only Bo's second year.

let's hope he doesn't take much longer to "restore the order".

heaven forbid he should lose a couple of more games.

LOL thats' the thing I have to remind myself, we were kind of spoiled in a way with how much of an improvement we had from year 1 and it's only year 2. I think by year 4 or 5 we will be contending for championships.

  2. http://www.huskers.com//pdf5/637831.pdf

    4?

I believe Crick had 5 today, anyone have any more info on this?

Why all the excitement??? He did it against BAYLOR. They are no good in every phase of the game. My God what are they ranked, like 150??? Lets see if Crick can do that against Kansas or Oklahoma.

Baylor had only allowed 11 sacks going into the game, even OU's D only got him twice.

That guy has gone off the deep end with negativity, as he has given up on the Huskers but yet still seems to post here. Even after he said he was leaving the board, for future reference I'd just ignore his dumb comments. He obviously doesn't know a great performance when he see's it.

  3. Does anybody know the status of Kyler Reed? I didn't see any other threads about this and don't remember hearing how he was during the game after his injury. Any help with info. is appreciated, thanks!

  4. The most ridiculous thing about those calls is, it perpetuates the myth that a QB has to be a drop-back passer. For decades Nebraska had QBs who dished out as much punishment as they took when being tackled. They were real football players. They weren't these flimsy, stick-like pocket passers who bend like a reed in the wind at any sign of pressure.

These calls are designed to save these guys from the inevitibilities of this kind of football - namely, that your immobile, fragile QB is going to get popped.

I disagree with the notion that a pocket passer is so necessary to college football that we must protect the breed with special contact rules.

In short, I think these rules suck.

  5. 90% of the topics and posts include people saying to fire cotton, watson, and gilmore. It's obvious they haven't done a good job coaching, but they aren't going to be fired this year. People shouldn't worry about the coaching staff right now. There is alot of games left to be played. I would say Nebraska has a way better chance than any other team in the north to get to the big 12 championship. All i'm saying is at least wait to see what happens the rest of the season before people continue to complain. Nebraska is what it is right now. They are a much better team than k st and cu. And if they contain ku's offense and find a way to score a couple of touchdowns than they should easily win against them too. Oklahoma has had a struggling o line all year and we have one of the best d lines in the country. for that reason alone we should have a chance against them. Obviously Watson isn't going to change his offense up 3/4 through the season so just see what happens and remember that there is always a next year for change.

Were just realists here. Sorry about that.

  6. I almost pissed blood when I saw that. How in the bleeding f#ck are you supposed to play defense if you can't tackle?

Exactly, what a f*cked up BS call, I mean what was he to do? Let him go so he could possibly make a crazy play? My god they're ruining the game with this crap about being too safe. It's part of the game! F*CK! Ok I feel better now... :rant

  7. Look at what Bill Snyder is doing at KSU with a bunch of no-names and nobodies. They have shown improvement week after week (after a loss to ULL) and are now hanging tough w/ Oklahoma...

That's why I said earlier that Snyder should be NCAA coach of the year !!!!!

Then go be a KSUcks fan..............

Regardless to what you say about how much they suck. KSU is taken care of business in the games they are supposed to win. Wish we could have said the same for this season.

Good for them, I despise them and hate everything about them, always will. GO HUSKERS!!!

  8. If... IF Nebraska had last years offense with this years defense how good do you think we would be? Would we have beat VTech, TTech, or Iowa State? I think we could be a top 10 team with only having lost to TTech. This is all hypothetical of course but what do you guys think?

    LOL gotta love hypotheticals!

  9. Nah, beating OU is a pipe dream. We don't have the line, receivers, RBs, or experience at QB to do anything but hope to win an ugly game against them. IF we won it would be because they lost.

Our d will let them score four TD's.

    Our Offense will score one.

What a dissapointing turn of events this season.

Our offense will be lucky to score at all against their stout D, but either way I will be there to watch and cheer them on in hopes of a miracle. GBR!

  10. I agree that we do not have the knowledge or experience that the coaches do. I also doubt that anything Griffin has to say is any more informed. What many of us are questioning is why burn a redshirt on someone that is now evidently not qualified to run the offense except for mop up duty? That doesn't make much sense. Many of us were assuming or led to believe that we would see a lot more of Green based on the redshirt issue. I also need to remind many of you that we spent almost an entire season watching Keller play all year with barely a glimpse of Ganz as the offense struggled at times. Enter Ganz due to injury and............ you know the rest of the story. At that time we as fans also were not as informed or as knowledable as someone like Watson. Hindsight is always 20/20 and it's pretty easy to sit in the recliner and think one knows better. But I'm starting to have some doubts and questions about the current coaching staff's decisions much as many on this board and throughout Nebraska have. Just remember that those that are calling for Green to play are not any less knowledgeable or less of a fan than those that are thinking we should stay the course with Lee.

The Keller/Ganz thing is probably not exactly relevant. Callahan was calling the shots then. Bo and Watson are calling the shots now.

What?? How is it NOT relevant? Its the same OC that Bo claims to have complete confidence in and pretty much runs all the aspects of the offense.. including pt. Also, Keller and Lee are very very similar in they way they play.. love the check down, can't throw across the middle, and overrated running ability.

Because I am fairly sure that it was CALLAHAN's call as to who started at quarterback. Not Watson's.

Also, just because Keller and Lee play similarly that in no way hints that Green is the second coming of Joe Ganz. I sure hope he is though . . . .

    Here's a scary thought . . . as bad as Lee looks . . . Green could be worse.

Green be worse? LOL I don't that's even possible.

  11. First post since todays loss for me. I figure some of you might have read this thread title and come in here to blast away at the topic, but here me out before you do so.

This has nothing to do with Lee's playing making ability, his mental state, etc.

This has nothing to do with Watson or the staff.

This has everything to do with finding a player who can bring a spark to the offense, finding a guy who can break things open with his arm and his legs, and finding a guy who can put this team on his shoulders and carry them to victory.

This team is severely lacking leadership. This team is lacking a Joe Ganz, a Nate Swift, or what have you. They are lacking a guy who is willing to go out there, make plays, sacrifice themselves, and get a victory. Coaching can only take you so far. You need somebody out there on the field that can pick this team up and get them to win.

Zac Lee, while he played solid for most of the game save three interceptions, did not have what it took to get this team rolling in crunch time. His players didn't have faith it what was going on, and we ended up continually turning the ball over.

We need that "it" guy on the field, and right now there sure as hell isn't one out there.

    Agreed.

  12. Subtract the drops from his numbers and he had a really good game. Watch any other pass happy Team and most of those balls not perfectly thrown are still catches. His recievers drop passes that do hit them in the numbers on top of it. He isn't Joe Montana but he isn't as bad as the rap he gets either. Today he did more than enough for them to win.

Imagine Mike Leach's offense with this kind of behavior from his WRs. It is just so disheartening to see our receivers dropping balls like this.

It's disgusting to be honest, or pathetic maybe... Or both?
