Yeah . . . how many times was Bo reprimanded in a similar fashion by Nebraska? 2? 3?"Coach Pelini's remarks as reported are inappropriate and unfortunate. We have discussed the report with coach. We are confident that Coach will conduct himself accordingly moving forward.
Sounds pretty familiar.
Good luck with that Youngstown. And Bo? Don't go changing. We know you won't.

Hey, I'm living proof that you don't have to be a Boliever to be a petty, maniacal a-hole.We've reached the "everyone acts like a petty, maniacal a-hole" stage of Boliever denial.

PM sent.
I know a former highly placed administrator that knows otherwise . . . and it's all in writing. And I believe getting kicked out of the AAU wasn't something Harvey could control.
That's why I said I believe. I thought us getting kicked out of the AAU was due to UNL and UNMC being treated as separate campuses and therefore the research done at UNMC didn't add to the research being done at UNL.
I'll admit to not knowing much (or anything) about this, just that we were kicked out. I remember reading something like what I said above, but that was years ago and I didn't know how credible the article was at the time.
I'd be eager to read a PM about this though, if you wouldn't mind.
FWIW, the UNMC/UNL distinction is a factor but was not decisive.

http://time.com/3639785/uninsured-obamacare-record/New federal government data shows the percentage of Americans without health insurance was at or near historic lows this year following the roll-out of the Affordable Care Act, and appears certain to fall to record levels next year.
The data released Thursday from the National Center for Health Statistics’ National Health Interview Survey found that 11.3 percent of Americans were without coverage in the second quarter of 2014, down from 13.1 percent in the first quarter and 14.4 percent throughout 2013. An analysis by the White House Council of Economic Advisers finds the drop in the uninsured to be the largest in four decades, amounting to roughly 9.7 million Americans getting insurance, consistent with other Affordable Care Act estimates.
Thanks Obama!

Good thing no one said that then, eh?
. . . TO being a man of untouchable character is laughable. . ..
He resigned in leu of being forced out. It's a technicality, but it's not a lie.
So you think Osborne is lying?
I don't believe for one second that he lied about that. Did he go off the rails in other areas? Yeah. But, there was quite a bit of smoke regarding Harvey when Osborne abruptly announced his retirement. Harvey has quite the ego, and we know Tom won't throw anyone under the bus.How do you feel about him lying about the circumstances of Osborne's departure?
. . .
I don't trust Harvey at all, and I have little trust in Shawn.
This is about as clear cut as it gets. One of these people is lying. You can decide for yourself who is more trustworthy.
You know, when they forced Coach Osborne out, and that is what happened....he got forced out. - Bo Pelini
I wasnt forced out. I resigned. And thats the end of the story. - Tom Osborne

I think that is totally acceptable. More so than attacking SE as yet another way to justify or excuse Pelini's failings.Catching up on this thread. So basically its not possible to be happy we made a coaching change at the same time you dont like the AD?

Yeah, there's that,
And there is very unlikey to be a big money opponent to oppose her, so right now she has all the money and the attention it buys.
The only thing that can stop her is a populist uprising in the party against warmongering banksters. Unlikely to be successful, but her only potential challenge.
She is far from a lock for the nomination . . . but I don't think we've seen a primary candidate with this sort of lead at this point in the race in US history.
If nothing else it should be interesting to watch. I fully expect thousands of stories from Fox and Co. declaring that her support is cratering, X is the new anti-Hillary, etc. Anything to attempt to diminish her star.
That said, I still expect her to be the nominee.

We might very well have different definitions of private. That said, if your definition of private is a self-aggrandizing speech made to more than a hundred former associates . . . well my definition is more accurate than your own.
There is so many things wrong with your statements that I don't know we're to begin.
First, they don't get to decide that a factual statement is false.
I'm pretty sure they would disagree.
They are not, and were not, his players. Thankfully, he was no longer part of their program.
A coaches discussions with his players is not private. Yeah, that sounds right. That's pretty much it.
Bo's comments were not private. They were made to a large group of people who he used to coach.Bo's comments were private. The statements is meant to be public and is a joke.
You've gotta be trolling. That's pretty much it.
First, you say a coach's statements to his team are public. Now, you say they aren't his players. What are you smoking? I want some.
Second, they weren't his team when he made those statements. At that time he was Mr. Pelini, former head coach of the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
But, please. Do go on telling us that a statement made to 100+ former affiliates was "private."
Let's assume that they are not his players and he wasn't there coach (as you imply). Under these circumstances, is his conversation with them (and not you) private? When you talk with your friends, is that private?
I just leave this with the following statement: you and I have different definitions of private.
Well apparently the world disagrees with you.

So now that you know the facts you support Eichorst and his decisions?I acknowledged I was wrong.
-
Right. And when they are heavily involved (see Alvarez, Barry) you'll see coaches leaving for lesser jobs.To the people that say they don't like Eichorst as the AD because he's not "hands on" and just "sits in his office behind a desk" need to look at other programs around the country. ADs are not coaches and don't need to be involved in any aspect of it. Coaches are hired to do that.
Let's all be honest here. This has nothing to do with Eichorst's hands off management style. That's just another way Bo manages to convince others to join him in blaming anyone or anything other than himself for his failures. Bo had a different AD for the five years before Eichorst with identical results. It's not the AD. It's not the fans. It's not the media. It's Pelini. Period.

It's easy. It's almost like the GOP knows something...like they're willing to cash in/sell out and get the hell out of dodge with America by doing this s**t.
Regardless...for a party that is so hell-bent on railing against United Nations boogeymen that are trying to control our country, they sure are f*****g silent on a foreign national company using Eminent Domain to secure land from American Citizens.
Seriously--I'd love to hear/see one of our resident tea party/GOP 'friends' try to defend this...
First, you chant "jobs, jobs, jobs!" (What was the number of full time employees after construction is completed in ~2 years? <40?)
Second, you pretend that this is part of your grand strategy for US Energy Independence. (Even though it is not US oil and it is going to be sold to China.)
Third, you claim that we need gasoline! (Even though this particular form of oil won't be made into gas because it isn't economically viable.)
Fourth, if anyone gets to this point and still isn't convinced you make up another fake scandal (Benghazi, IRS, Fast and Furious, Gruber, etc.) to distract the remaining rubes.
Bam.

Agreed. SE is a master of that. We are supposed to believe he is a good judge of head football coaching ability after his great pick at Miami? Yeah real stud AD.
By all means, don't let the facts change your opinion.
So this is SE first D1 college football hire? I guess it all rides on this then.Kirby Hocutt is the name of the former Miami AD who hired Al Golden.
I do believe that you have outed yourself.

I'm blown away that there's still anyone defending Bo at this point. It's honestly laughable.
Just look at the mere fact that instead of spending the last 30 minutes he'll ever have with this team telling them how much he appreciated them and wishing his players well, he instead spent it calling the AD a "c***" and making sure everyone knew that he (Bo) was right. That's all you need to know.
exactly.
-
Everyone should thank Bo for turning the program back in the right direction from the pederson-callahan debacle instead of bashing him.
We owe Pelini a lot less than he owes us. We gave him far more than his ability, experience, and character deserved.
-
he will never, ever, coach another program of Nebraska's statute ever again
"Stature"?
Yes.

These people defending this piece of trailer park trash are almost more appalling than the transcript from this meeting with students. If you can't understand why it is unacceptable to act this way, I question your personal morals and ethics.
This is not how the university system or people in education should act, and it is not how the people of this state want their leaders acting. I am so happy we have somebody I don't have to worry about "tapes" being released and embarrassing our state and university.
I thank Eichorst for that. It makes me welcome Mike Riley's demeanor as a fresh, positive start.
+1.
Bo's record of wins and losses isn't the only reason why he will never, ever, coach another program of Nebraska's statute ever again.
Time to give head coach Riley his turn. Line up the support, people. PARTICULARLY you folks who repeatedly claimed that all Nebraska fans had to support Pelini because he was the head coach at Nebraska. He isn't. Riley is. And thank goodness for that.

Early polling said the same thing in 2008.
Not like this. For example:
ISIS enslaving, raping those who don't convert (even adolescents)
