I've seen some nice stuff at Bass Pro, but Cabela's might be a better fit, being Nebraska based and all.

I think you forgot Pete Carroll, Mike Ditka and Michael Strahan

Why would we retire the term blackshirts? It's not like they are going to be average forever. It's cyclical, our defense will be our backbone again at some point.
Here's my take: Remembering when multiple shutouts per year were expected and delivered. Pride comes from overachieving. The defenses in the heyday were not satisfied with simply a win. From what I've seen lately, is a win is a win attitude. Let up near the end of the fourth quarter, if they score so what, we got the win. Regenerating this prideful mentality would loom large in our recruiting posture.
BTW, the reason the slipover jerseys were used was they were on sale. Could have just as well been known as the "yellowshirts"

Music city bowl sucks, and Huskers will probably get blown out by Vols
Optimism abounds

Only Nike schools have made the playoffs so far. I guess it pays to wear Nike
Well...who can argue with that logic

Kid's bionic.
Certainly wish he were, I don't recall Steve Austin ever pulling a hamstring

Is May still employed by ESPN after that pick? I was under the impression that any positive thinking toward NU was strictly forbidden since Trev Albert's departure.

I too loved that song. When I was a kid Jimmy Dean performed at the Lincoln County fair, my neighbor was the County agent and arranged for us to meet. I now live in Virginia. Jimmy Dean lived in Chesterfield County (Richmond area) until his death. Always thought it would be funny to egg his house.

We will win out.

Short of delay of game all calls are judgement calls and can be argued to death with no result

Is anyone else angered by ESPN's arbitrary switching of games from channel to channel?

Sorry, did not mean to confuse the mathematically challengedI don't follow at all
"The mathematically challenged" probably have a hard time deciphering what seems like a Mad Lib.
I get your point, but it definitely could have been more concise. Multiple threw me off for a hot second, but what really got my gord was why in the name of Charles Dickens would someone agree to a monetary value before even knowing what they're betting on?
How clumsy of me

Back in the days when Jacobson, Glover, Harper and Dutton were household names there was a very popular and profitable bet to be made that centered on the Huskers.
This bet needed to be placed with a person whose loyalties lie outside the state of Nebraska.
Once the monetary value was established the specifics were as follows: NU bettor would add the scores (week to week), the opponent was allowed yo multiple the scores.
The bet was that at seasons end the NU total score would be greater than the opponent's score.
Could the Purdue game make that a profitable bet again?

It may just be me, but I've always wondered why people need to see the names on the backs of jerseys to recognize who each player is.
I agree, maybe we are just too damn lazy to learn.
Since we are on the subject.
Why is it necessary to include JR on jersey names? How often have a SR and JR played on the same team in the same year?
-
Christ, we go through this nonsense every year and satisfy no one. Must we now have two threads lamenting this ridiculousness.
Face it folks, when it comes to this issue, your opinions do not matter.
Will I be glad when the season starts so people will have some legitimate complaints that can go unacknowledged by the powers that be.

I'm not too worried about Auburn or Georgia setting up a camp in Omaha anytime soon.
I agree, Scottsbluff seems to be the better choice

Given the participating teams in the BattleFrog Fiesta Bowl
The name should be changed to The Obnoxious Fans Bowl

Does this ice the Frost conversation?

Damion Bennington said the accussed isn't on the football team. But TA is upset the coaches didn't publicly defend any of them.Actually, with his recent dealings with the LPD, and the response that got, I can actually see Armstrong wanting out of Lincoln.
Response?
Sexual assault happened at his house and if you believe the rumors he was involved.
Even if it started off consensual, i have no problem with how LPD handled the allegations. I doubt that his reasoning for wanting to leave...
Who is Damion Bennington? I don't know anyone by that first or last name associated with the team in any way.
A Damon Benning was my dad's neighbor in Omaha, probably not the guy referred to

He's staying as a coordinator at Virginia Tech. If he wanted the head coaching job they probably would've given it to him. No way he comes here.
I live in Virginia. Foster stated publicly at a press conference a few weeks ago that he wanted the HC job. The administration were pretty set on a more drastic change though.
I think Foster would leave for the right job but it would have to be a HC gig.
In this interview from 11/9 he expresses his interest in the HC job.
He leaves the door open to other opportunities and challenges.
We certainly can offer that challenge.
Spread the money around and go get Foster and Frost.
I think he's respected enough to get a HC gig somewhere. I'll be suprised if he actually ends up staying at Tech as this was pretty much a kick in the teeth
He has interviewed for HC jobs in the past but nothing ever became of such.
He likes his deal at VT and is highly loyal and that loyalty was reciprocated by Beamer and Weaver.

Here's an idea. Let's go away from Adidas all together. Their uniforms are trash and that thread design just looks odd. No Adidas uniforms are cool, and most Adidas schools are going away from it. I am shocked Miami (FL) went to Adidas and that company has ruined the Hurricanes unis. They have somehow even messed up the iconic U on their helmets, that thing just looks oddly placed now.
Believe it or not, it matters very little what the opinions of this board are concerning manufacturer affiliations.
It boils down to $$$ and if you think that's not the case, I ask "What color is the sky in your world?"
If Spaulding were to come up with a sh*t-load of cash each year, you would see them as official outfitter.
I really don't think anything said on this board will sway any of the decision makers on this subject.
