The recieving corp might be the biggest question mark we have this year on offense. We have two very capable QB's, 8 or so RB's on schollies that can get the job done, and a line that is respectable... i havent really heard much about the receivers, but you are right they do play a major role in the WCO. We will need some of them to step up and stand out this year.

Good coaching and defensive shcemes puts the players in the most possible situations where their talent and abilities give them the opportunities to make the plays. Defense is just as much coaching as playing, coaching will get you into the best position but its still up to the player to make the play in the end.

Whoever wins out the starting spot, at least the offense is headed in the right direction with more passing oriented QBs being recruited and showing promise. Talent wise they can be compared, but yes you are right Daily knows the system better and therefore will probably get the start, but down the road, any sign of slippage, he may be pulled very quickly.

Removing the no contact shirts could be a dangerous move for the coaches if one of the top Qbs gets injured in practice. I dont think fans would appreciate that very much.

From what i have read about him, he isnt the type of player to do stupid things that will get him in trouble...but there is always exceptions.

Yea, the coaches are getting a feel for what gets the players motivated and in what situations they learn the best... so far i think theyve got all the players excited about this year.

I wouldnt believe that...it isnt that hard to make the grades, and some of these athletes are pretty dumb and they get in so he will too.

Taylor will win out if they are even and he doesnt even fully comprehend the system yet.

He should pick it up more and more, but if he doesnt, wouldnt you think they would have noticed there would be a problem before they decided to go after him.

Not only do these types of drills strengthen the players one on one and positional skills, but they get players excited about practice, and players excited about practice are more willing to work hard and thus become better than they normally would.

Yes i agree, hopefully bowman and octavian will play very well for us this year.

Hopefully he is that good, the films on rivals showed him to be very talented against high school competition, so if that translates over to NU then he wont have much of a problem climbing the depth chart.

When dontrelle moore gets to NU in the fall he will also be a LB fighting for time amoung the vets and Jucos. He is comparable to Octavian in style of play, not to sure about work ethic yet though, but im sure the coaches will make sure of that.

My high school team does this drill but a different variation, we give the offense an extra line to exaggerate the neccesity for the defensive team to get off their blocks while getting to the ball. Seeing the difference between the defense my junior year and my senior year (when we implemented this drill) was astonishing. The team as a whole tackled much better. Plus the drill gets everyone hyped about practice and keeps the energy up.

Having the 5th best recruiting class in the nation deserves an A in my book, as for the actual players in the class, they are talented and much more athletic than NU is used to, this should bring speed to the defense and a somewhat potent passing game, along with a future stud at RB.

Now, assuming his football knowledge and talent is equal to his work ethic and athleticism, he will be a force to be reckoned with this fall. Bo Rudd better be watching over his shoulder cause Octavian will be coming up faster than anyone else did in the past.

I think two of the players that are gonna be ready to play after winter conditioning are gonna be Bowman and Octavian. They should be an immediate impact on the defense and start things off for the freshmen coming in for the fall.

That was his own 'call' but i agree and think he will try to do more by himself this year if the passing game is going anywhere.

I saw his runs on rivals and they are very impressive indeed. His outright speed astonishes me more each time i watch it. He sprints passed everyone on the field in a few clips. He is the WCO RB dream for BC and the NU offense.
