  1. Bump...just in case some of you haven't seen it.
  2. I'm gonna go with 55-10. They score their FG in the first and TD late in the fourth against our third stringers. Taylor throws for 200+ in the first half with 3 TDs, one to Nunn, one to Hardy and one to Ross. Ross rushes for 154 and 2 TDs, Jackson for 102 and 1 TD, and Lucky for 57 on 6 carries with a TD. Congdon boots two FGs, long of 46. First team D allows under 100 yards of offense, under 25 rushing. Tierre Green and Steve Octavien have INTs, and Carriker forces a fumble. The game gets boring with not a lot of action in the second half. Beck throws 4-for-8 for 39 yards.
  3. Hey guys, finally did another column for Draft Blitz, my season preview and predictions. Check it out and post your thoughts, they'd be greatly appreciated. Thanks... NFL Draft Blitz Husker Season Preview by Caleb Johnson
  4. He's raw. I went up against him every day in practice, but he's got a lot of potential. He can be absolutely dominant when he wants to be, and he plays 6A football in Florida, one of the toughest football classes around. I wouldn't doubt his skills, formerfan. We are also after Andy Lark from Oviedo as a fullback. The summer between his sophomore and junior year he put up 185 47 times at a combine. Now this past year he got second in states (heavyweight) for 6A Florida weightlifting. I've pancaked Hobbs quite a few times before. I could never budge Lark.
  5. 90% chance on Freeman, that's what he gave us after the spring game and the Oklahoma offer won't change that. Marlon Lucky talks to him a lot and posts on HuskersIllustrated.com, and let's just say it's looking great for Josh and Meno Holt. In fact, Meno posted on there the other day.
  6. I wanted to keep Marvin here, maybe even make him our defensive coordinator but at least keep him at DBs. But we had to go out and get a guy who had been to 12 places in 19 years or something rediculous like that. Personally, I don't like Elmassian. The only good thing he's done for the program so far is get Beck.
  7. I believe Rivals' top 5 was... 1. ILB Curtis Lofton - OU 2. CB/FS Reggie Smith - OU 3. ILB Phillip Dillard - NU 4. ATH/RB Felix Jones - Arkansas 5. OG Craig Roark - NU We were highly in on all of them besides Lofton, who I believe committed early (and isn't any better than Dillard BTW), Smith opted to stay home and we filled up at RB too fast so Jones was left out cold.
  8. mccray was suppose to be alot like daunte hall aswell according to callahan and we seen how that played out. No we haven't? McCray was redshirted. He'll get his chance this spring and fall, but don't judge a kid from the get-go. Not everyone can make an immediate impact. That's why I hate people judging Santino Panico so quickly, and over punt return of all things. He's still a very good athlete and should be a good safety for us.
  9. They want to put Dontrell at MIKE, so they are leaving Stew at SAM. I don't know who will win the starting MLB job, Moore or Dillard, but it should be a good fight. I want to see Dillard get it personally, though. And then throw Moore in at SAM and MIKE as a backup like Ira Cooper did.
  10. Yeah I found out about Noel Devine like last summer when I saw his Freshman video. It was nasty, looked like he was a fifth year senior out there or something. What I don't get is his stats aren't that impressive, he only rushed for like 1600 this year, but every clip you see he's rushing for about a 70 or 80 yard touchdown. Same way with his frosh year when he only got like 900. It leads me to believe either he turns it up for some games against lesser competition, or he's injured a lot. But none-the-less, the kid is a freak. He's probably a Cane though, as much as I hate to say it.
  11. I wouldn't, because then you waste a year and Beck only has 2 to start (whoever starts this year will start next year unless they just do horrible). Have him compete, if he doesn't win the spot, then redshirt him and start him as a RS Soph.
  12. I don't think he meant he wanted to play QB, he just wants a trick play or two thrown in because he can throw the ball. I believe the coaches will be doing a lot of this, re-writing the playbooks to fit different guys' styles. I'm pretty sure we'll get to see Chris Brooks' arm at some point in his Husker career.
  13. Keep in mind that he was either injured or sick, I forget which, when he ran the 4.98 at camp. He's actually a 4.7 guy from all reports. Still needs to get a bit quicker, but should do good with a couple years with Kennedy.
  14. This guys film is incredible. He's got 5 star talent, I hope we can nab him. The competition between he and Beck would be fierce in 2007. We'll probably only sign one big QB a year from now on. We should get used to having this big time depth and competition at skill positions. It'll be fun to watch. Also about Chad Roark, so far he hasn't been offered by NU and said his dream is to play for OU. He said Nebraska's his leader but he's leaning towards OU if they offer right now. I think we get him, but it's nowhere near a lock anymore. He's a very good DT, I hope we do pick him up.
  15. Nobody's qualified yet, but as of the updates on HuskersIllustrated.com, Lucky is not one to worry about. More Brodrick Hunter, Wallace Franklin, Leon Jackson and Jordan Picou.
  16. I believe Tierre should be moved to FS. He has the athleticism and was recruited as a DB out of high school, and we need him on the field as much as possibly. Switch him over, maybe even to corner, and let him get on the field. With the talent that we have at RB, he's not gonna see the light of day unless he can develop an inside running game.
  17. Just pretty much knowledge, I have a subscription to HuskersIllustrated and I'm on there about 20-30 minutes a day just catching up on everything, and that's pretty much what I want to do after college is be a sports journalist, so it's good to get some practice. I just wish I got paid for it Glad ya'll enjoyed it though. I'll make sure to post next time I update it. Should be before spring practice.
  18. Well since Brodrick Hunter isn't on that poll, I had to go with Rands. His footwork and speed is very reminiscint (sp?) of Darren Sproles.
  19. Hey ya'll, I write a Husker column for nfldraftblitz.com (great website for NFL, NCAA and draft info, check it out), and I just finished up my February recruiting edition, my own personal awards. Check it out. NFL DB February Nebraska Column Leave any feedback, or if you have an idea for a column in the future make sure to tell me. Hope you enjoy.
  20. FYI, Cosgrove's plans are to keep Stew at SAM and plug in Dontrell at MIKE. So Stew has SAM on lockdown with a little pressure from Bo Ruud, it's a fight between Dontrell and Dillard for MIKE, and Kadavy and Octavien will fight it out for WILL next season. Apparently Callahan is very high on Andy Kadavy.
  21. Don't forget about Santino Panico, either. He's a very talented athlete and was chosen to play in the All-American game as a safety in high school, so I'd imagine he'll make the switch over to provide depth. And please, don't be like other ignorant Husker fans and judge him on punt returns.
  22. Guess you didn't watch any games this season then, because he performed very well when he was in there.
  23. That's assuming if he doesn't get qualified. Right now he's taking the ACT first time tomorrow and has a tutor working with him for his next SAT. He only needs to get his score up about 40 points on the SAT, plus he's doing great this semester apparently. If I had to pick someone who wouldn't get qualified, IMO it'll either be Leon Jackson or Brodrick Hunter. Hope I'm wrong, but they're both in tough situations right now from what I understand.
  24. Nope, all rumors. Confirmed on Huskers Illustrated that he didn't sign any papers. He plans to be in Lincoln, and if he needs to get qualified, he'll do it there.
  25. C.B. is about the furthest from a punk that we have in this recruiting class. Very, very good kid whos heart is in the right place and has his head screwed on straight. He really hasn't touched a weight because he's never had to, he was really never serious about college football until this last year. This provides A LOT of growth potential in him. He could turn out to be a gamebreaker for the Huskers.
