  1. Coming from someone who follows Florida recruiting very closely, Jackson has bust written all over him. He has no breakaway speed, and the FL schools are quickly turning away from him. I wouldnt be shocked to see him take a out of the air school like NU because he didnt get the local offers he wanted.

  3. Might even scare a few fullbacks coming his way to block him.

He should just banshee scream then. I bet they don't try and block him if he's banshee screaming. I know I wouldnt go after a guy whose banshee screaming.

  4. Don't doubt Dillard's speed. He has some incredible quickness getting to the ballcarrier, probably the most impressive LB of any at the All American game.

Also, like Oviedo said, Lucky was just amazing at the AA game when he got in space. If that kid hits a seam he's gone, I don't care if his "official" 40 was 4.3 or 4.9.

  5. Florida is going to be the heavy, heavy favorite for Tebow. His parents are both UF alumni, as you said he's in gator territory, and he has the athleticism that Meyer loves in his QBs. He'll probably be Gator target #1 next year.

  6. If we can't stop AD we'll have absoltuely no shot. We have to load up the box and leave our DBs in mostly single coverage, hopefully they'll be ready to play some real football.

  7. Dontrell is a promising young LB recruit as well, and hopefully will provide us with the start to an athletic LB corp like UM has done with its LB's.

I like that. The more athletic the defense is the more versatile we can be with them in terms of coverage and blitzes. Can't argue with trying to be like a team that almost got to three straight title games (even though we got to seee firsthand how good their LBs were... :flush) .

  8. I don't think he'll start either. But I think they'll end up being like Williams and Brown were at Auburn last year. It really didn't matter who started because they both played about the same amount and both were dominant.

I like that comparison. Ronnie Brown's ability to catch the ball out of the backfield when he was in made that offense a lot better; and if the coaches can implement Lucky in that way he'll be very effective.

  9. Good points, and keep in mind we'll be taking less and less JUCOs in the future since our younger guys will be developing. I think Callahan is building Nebraska eerily close to how Carroll build up USC.

All we have to do now is find our Matt Leinart. For some reason, I'm not thinking its going to be Joe Dailey.

Assessing the talent: Arguable the best player in the nation. Some say he’s the most prepared to enter the NFL draft right now if it were legal. He’s physically put together. The hips are what everyone talks about and as a projected CB or S in college, that’s vital to his success. The ability to roll up and smack the wideout. Had over 2,500 yards rushing the past two years and close to 150 tackles and a dozen picks.

Odds of becoming a Cornhusker: 5% Haven’t heard much on the Huskers and Rolle. The Huskers offered earlier, but with this much company a visit is looking quite slim, hence the odds of him becoming a Husker.

LUCKY 3000 - Myron Rolle, a Safety from the Hun School in New Jersey is a kid that we should really keep a close eye on. His top two are probably going to be Miami and Oklahoma, so he clearly has no problem going far away. NJ kids are usually all over the map when it comes to where they end up, and I think if Nebraska can set an example there (other than Joe Dailey), we could get some very good football players from there. Last year, NJ had the 4th most top 100 players after just Texas, Florida, and California.

I do think that he will end up at Miami (his father went there and they have know how to make safeties), but who knows.

  11. I'm personally of the opinion that Marlon Lucky should be our opening day Running Back. I understand that Ross has done a good job, and that we have a bunch of other quality backs, but if we want to really make an impact in the Big 12 we need to do something different. Lucky is the prototype WCO RB, he has great speed and quickness, is big enough to take a beating and control the clock, and most importantly is an excellent receiver out of the backfield. We'd lose some in terms of experience, especially with guys like Zac Taylor already looking like starters, but we'll gain a lot in terms of skill/production. That's just my opinion.
