I learned that we have not scored that many points since hanging 77 on Iowa St in 1997 and we have not had this margin of victory since whipping Kansas 70-0 in 1986. Seems something is headed in the right direction even if the competition was not impressive.
Kansas State game 2007.

The technical fouls happened with 9:14 left in the second half.
The score after the foul shots was NU: 45 CU: 51
Nebraska had 9 minutes to come back from a 6 point deficit and couldn't do it. That's on the coaches and the players, not the refs.

SJB tweaked his knee this week? Have I been living under a rock or is this the first time I've heard this?

Serious? What does Boise have? They have one mountain range, and a constant inversion so the air quality is comparable to sticking your head in a septic tank. Not sure what else is there... A few rivers? Boise is awful..
One mountain range and a few rivers > what Lincoln offers.

USC 2007?

I came up with a pretty sweet idea for the Wisconsin game. I know how much you all like tradition so I kept the helmet as its traditional color, white. Enjoy
Except for the fact that the color black actually has significance within the football program, whereas green, pink, purple, and yellow do not.

Obviously if we wore black uniforms for one game a year it would form a wormhole that would erase all of our past achievements, history and tradition.
/sarcasm.

We all know these uniforms are fake, but they would still be pretty awesome for an alternative.

This probably has nothing to do with anything, but I wanted to throw it out there.
I remember hearing about our team watching tape and preparing for the B1G teams very early, way before fall practices. Is it possible they have spent much more time preparing for these teams than our OOC schedule? I know they still prepare for them, but maybe the defensive plan is different for our OOC schedule than in conference schedule.
Yeah, probably not. Just grasping for straws.

I'll play along.
-Martinez will not stay healthy with no real backups.
He could get injured, but that's an assumption on your part. It's also an assumption that Carnes is not a "real" backup.
-Offensive line is going to be terrible with little experience and Barney running the show.
I'll give you that.
-1 receiver that has more than 1 catch in a game.
We had putrid receiving last year. Maybe it's not a bad thing newbies are coming in. We also bring in a new WR coach.
-1 running back with experience.
Fair enough. But what teams have two running backs on their teams that have equal experience?
-D line is overrated except for crick
How do you know?
-david is only proven linebacker.
Not true.
-dennard is only good secondary player.
How do you know?
-New kicker and punter.
Who could be talented.
-Toughest schedule in big 10
True.
-New coaches.
Which could be a good thing.
-Too much preseason hype.
Not in our control.
-Unfamiliar with the teams they will be playing.
Which could hurt or help. Nobody knows for sure.
-Nebraska isn't built to stop big 10 teams.
How do you know?
-Nebraska isn't used to the hostile environments of the big 10.
We'll see.
You can charge that to the game!

Very first Husker game I went to, had an old man grab my 13-year old cousin and force him down into his seat because he cheered when we scored a touchdown. That was back in 1992 vs Arizona State.
I'm not saying it happens ALL the time, but it does happen. I've seen it happen other times throughout the years, not to me, but some other people around me.
I went to a game last year where a man in his 30s got into a pissing match with an older gentleman because the older man told him to sit down. I'm sure some parts of the stadium are better than others, but this is something I've witnesses a lot.

How could anyone who claims to be a Nebraska Cornhuskers football fan want to wear black uniforms. Unbelievable.
I'm not trying to pick on you here, but I get kind of tired of this attitude. If we wore black uniforms for ONE game, would it really be such a big deal? I don't think anyone wants to change tradition, but it's fun to switch things up now and then for a brief moment. The whole, "This is how we have always done things, this is how we will always do things, and that's that" attitude wears me down.
But then again, maybe I'm not a real fan.
-
Has the stadium ever had a reputation for a hostile environment, every game?
It seems like the trend has always been loud for big games, dull/quiet for not big games.
I don't think Memorial Stadium is nationally recognized for loudness. Overall atmosphere, yes.

People still think Bubba is coming?

IF Martinez has an ankle sprain, he should be pretty close to ready next week but for sure ready for aTm.
Sometimes an ankle sprain can be worse than an actual break, but if that was the case here TM would not be able to walk without crutches or some type of boot. The way you heal an ankle sprain is by using it a lot through therapy to rebuild and restrengthen the ankle. I think two weeks should be enough for that, but three weeks will definitely be enough assuming it is an ankle sprain.
The only thing I'm worried about is after you sprain an ankle once, that ankle naturally becomes slightly weaker and more vulnerable to future sprains or breaks.

Anything out of the top 10 is a joke, in my opinion.
We just beat two top 15 teams (BCS rankings) in consecutive weeks. How many teams in the top 10 have done that?

I must see a 40 year old virgin reference to Gundy!!!! Please someone with some photoshop skills?
Really quick one I just did.

Not the way Helu played today.
So one game and you're done with the kid. Good to know.

Yup Yup, one of the few bright points of the day. We need to see les Helu and more Burkhead.
Pretty sure we need to see both.

Absolutely shocking performance.
Hung over from Washington, looking ahead to KSU, or not very good. I'm not sure.
Regardless of taking a day off (if that is what happened), we should still have the talent and athleticism to easily beat a Division 1aa team.
Did Niles Paul have a catch tonight? I know we didn't throw too much, but can he not get open against SDSU?
-
Whoever does it, I wouldn't do it in Photoshop. Do it in a program like Illustrator so that it's all vector and fully scalable.

A thursday night game against a team that has a stud RB. I would be lying if I said I wasn't a little bit nervous.
But we have almost two weeks to prepare for them. DT will get his yards, but I just don't see them pounding it down our throats all game long. I have to imagine that we'll come out with a good game plan and adjust if needed. Remember, this staff knows how to make adjustments.

If that's true I hope that boy got some smarts somewhere..
Yeah. He's a physical specimen but his knowledge of the game worries me. I'm assuming we'll see Whaley get most of the playing time.

I'd feel a lot better about this post if our OL was at full strength. That's what is really worrying me about this game.
