Mack Brown is tough to rank. On one hand, his winning percentage is phenomenal. On the other hand, for all the games he wins it rarely translates to anything meaningful (conference championships, national championships, etc.). Take this year for instance. Texass hands down has the best team in the Big 12 talent wise. However, they let lowly Wyoming hang with them for half a game. They let lowly Colorado hang with them for nearly 3 quarters. He just seems to do less with more. He's able to beat up on the teams where Texas has a significant talent advantage. However, he seems to lose the games where the other team has similar talent. He's a great recruiter, but his coaching seems lacking.

Fair enough point. Even ask a Texas fan, Stoops recruits better. If Texas doesnt win it all this year, then itll be a long few years before they have the oppurtunity to do it again

NoKoolAidForME is right. People were talking about consistancy and past history. I was comparing Brown to the other 10 coaches as well. I can understand an argument for Stoops, even Pelini, but to rate the others above him is just arrogance and proves all your opinions about football are bias.

(PS not trying to start sh#t, all this is said calm, lol i know how baords can get.)

And as for stoops big 12 titles, yes he has more and thats why i can see an argument for his sake. But the both have a National Title, something no other coach in the Big 12 currently has as a head coach.

all those rating Brown down lower than top 2, are insane. Yeah i may have a little bias, but currently Mack Brown has a streak of 19 consecutive winning seasons, 17 straight seasons making a bowl, has not won less than 10 games since 2001 which is the longest active streak of seasons with 10+ wins in the nation. (Stoops has 21 loses since then, Brown only 15) 8-3 in bowl games at Texas, 3-2 at UNC (Stoops 4-6) has not finished lower than #13, Big 12 Conference record 21 consecutive conference wins from 2004–2006, and the only thing Stoops has over him is Big 12 titles.

But i dont ever hardly root for Big XII teams outside of Texas and Nebraska. I love it when the B12 South teams lose. Ok St losing was awesome.

From a Hokie perspective ...

 

I have a hard time rooting for some of our ACC rivals even in non-conference games. I love to see UVA lose. Even though their losses to W&M and TCU may have hurt the conference, it's just too entertaining to watch their fans squirm.

 

I have a pretty strong dislike for Boston College, too. So I'll begrudgingly root for them in non-conference games. Same with Miami. However, I've mellowed in my dislike for Miami the last few years since they've been struggling, and I have found it easier to root for them in out-of-conference games.

 

Everyone else in the ACC I have no problem rooting for them in non-conference games and when it helps Tech.

I like FSU. When Miami loses its the greatest thing in the world right behing OKlahoma losing.
