  1. http://rivals.yahoo.com/texas/football/recruiting/rankings/rank-2366

Looks like Jamal Turner might be a 5.9 :star:star:star:star

    And Aaron green will either be a 6.0 :star:star:star:star or a :star:star:star:star:star

FWIW a 6.0 rating is a five star rating not a four star. Not trying to be mean or anything, just informing.

I have an RSS subscription but I never post or pay attention to star rating. Does that mean JT is .1 away from a 6.0? Also, for whoever was surprised JT is the #1 QB, the Rivals guys (Talman, Sean C.), have been pretty adamant that where you commit has nothing to do with player rankings. Of course, it can't hurt your star rating to have 30+ offers, but from what I remember Rex had a ton and only 3 stars. Then again, this is all personal speculation anyway, so one shouldn't care too much.

    Rex was a four star.

The mo'rons at scout had him as a three star.

  2. I definitely agree MUtigerfan. Doc is a great coach but he and his assistants have proven to be pretty poor recruiters. With that said I think that our freshman class still has a chance to be pretty special when looking at Standhardinger, Diaz, Gallegos, and possibly Ubel if he can get stronger.

The one thing I will say is that Frank Martin has nothing to do with the recruiting advantages Kstate has, their assistant coach (top paid in the nation I am pretty sure) Delonte Hill has huge connections to the AAU team DC Assault and that is where most of the recruits are coming from. NCAA basketball is a pretty crooked game when you look at the recruiting in terms of Kstate's Hill or KU's hiring of Mario Chalmers dad years back.

  3. Why does everyone have to be such a Debbie Downer? There will be a much improved offense and a defense that will be just as good that simply wont HAVE to be. I'll be surprised if we lose a game. Callahan is gone. The players and coaches have the swagger back, now it's time for ALL the fans to get theirs back. We belong at the top and we know it, so lets start acting like we expect it as opposed to wondering if we're gonna wind up like Mississippi.

Not a "debbie downer" just a realist. I know Bo will have our D in top form but the offense still has too many questions to be expecting a top 5 season. If you want some out completely crazy predictions that have no foundations you should go to tigerboard.com they are a real delusional bunch.

  4. First off I would like to say that I really don't think we are going to end up the #5 team in the nation as some polls are indicating, we are good but I don't think we are going to be that good. With that said I am still loving these rankings because it is building up that confidence that NU players once had, that they can go into any stadium and beat any team. With Bo at the helm this hype is not going to hinder our program (like we have seen recently with OKstate) but rather lift this program back where it needs to be in future years.

I have searched for an aerial view of ND stadium 3/4 full of red, to no avail.

    Anybody?

    I found this one

I was at that game, it was awesome. I will say though that when you are used to watching the replays on the screen it sucks. Replay screens in stadiums is one of the best things to ever happen, I don't care if you are old school or not.

  6. No complains on girls side. I can't believe G'Town is in top 8 with 5 losses.

    huh???

    Talking about men's basketball there.

I can understand G'town staying up there, seeing as how BYU, N Iowa, and New Mexico have yet to prove consistency.

They did just embarrass a good Villanova team.

  7. Heard Owa just cancelled his ESPN announcement and will wait and decide over the next week or two. He is still just not sure where he wants to go and really wants to step back and go over everything again and weigh out everything accordingly. Heard this from "very reliable source." He is just a very deliberate young man and wants no doubt when he decides.

This would be shocking, but compared to what everything else is saying is good news if true.
