  1. This is why I hate the recruiting rankings. The national pundits talk about how tough it is to bring top-notch talent to NU.

    They are wrong.

Bo is getting kids who are good, smart and can win. If he can't bring in talent, how do the national people think he's doing so well with his defense? Those kids are young!

  2. I would have less of a problem with Watson if NU had a QB coach. That way Wats would be able to concentrate on the Offense, and someone could teach the QB's how to play. Even if Wats doesn't stay, then NU needs a QB coach and an OC. I just don't believe that an OC can split his duties.

  3. Last Sunday night, the Eagles kicked off to the Giants with very little time left in the first half. The Giant returner fumbled the ball, and the Eagles recovered. There were obviously two seconds left on the clock when the Eagle player was touched down, but the clock ran out.

The Eagles wanted a replay, but the referee announced to the crowd that it wasn't a reviewable play, and that the half was over.

WTF? I know there are differences between the college replay rules and the NFL...but are they THAT different?

Or is it like Bo yelled after the B12CG, "The BCS! THAT'S WHY THEY MAKE THAT CALL!!!"

    Does anyone know?

  4. And let me be the one to say his mom is smokin' hot!

    Pics!?

If I had some, I'd share...but I've only seen her...

LOTS of work...and it all looks great! Those California plastic surgeons know what they're doing!

  5. The thing I am most upset about is the TCU/Boise State game

What a sham to protect the BCS. If those two teams had played BCS schools and won, what would the fall out have been?

They are protecting themselves from further embarassment it seems to me.

We need a play off and all conferences need to have a championship game, or no one does.

If you are the best team with two or three losses when you play and can get through and win the championship, more power to ya.

But I agree Congress should try to concentrate on housing and feeding our country. Football is a minor problem. But the pay offs for those games not being allowed to the non BCS teams is a joke.

    I cannot agree enough!!! :w00t

  6. Watson will develop Gabbert just fine. I hope he's the cerebral type and turns into a Taylor or a Ganz, but with more natural talent.

It's who's protecting Gabbert/Green/Lee that I'm worried about. And the guy coaching them.

I like little Gabbert. He seems like a tough kid, but we'll see after he gets here and sits a year. I think he'll be good for us down the line. If Lee doesn't put it together, I'm looking at Spano and Gabbert for the future. But I do think we'll see Lee next year too. He's gritty but he needs to ... well, play better.

You mean like he's developed Lee?

Lee has been here for 3 years. I cannot believe Green hasn't gotten good enough by now to supplant him.

There's a common denominator here--Watson is the position coach.

  7. Way to keep the faith. We do realize that KSU played with nothing to lose right? That in a sense makes a team very dangerous. Nebraska still won, and the Media has stated that Nebraska could beat Texas in the Big XII Championship, and really mess things up for them. Texas killed our hopes for a 3peat in 1996 when they beat us at the first big XII Championship game, how awesome would it be to return the favor and keep them out of the National Championship?

    Amen brother!!!! :thumbs:thumbs:thumbs:steam

I'd love it if NU could beat the Whorns. I'll cheer as hard as ever against them!

But they have a senior QB who isn't going to throw 5 INT's.

I will be surprised if NU scores more than 6 on them. Wouldn't be surprised if NU gets shut out.

The defense is being put into too many bad positions. That will backfire, if not againt the sCUm, then against UT. They aren't a great defense, they are a really good defense.

And with an anemic offense, it will be tough to even stay in the game with them.

Yes, yes, tell me what a bad fan I am.

  8. Ok, it was midnight before I got home last night, and was tired (traffic after the game was horrible). So here goes:

    1. Is KSU's QB better than NU's? He shouldn't be.

    2. Is KSU's OL better than NU's? It shouldn't be.

    3. Is KSU's RB better than NU's? He shouldn't be.

But last night, all of those things looked to be true.

Someone please tell me, if KSU has such a lack of talent, then why was their offense able to outperform NU's?

That's not a knock on NU's defense, btw.

But if KSU doesn't have much talent, then why were they able to have some success against NU's defense?

    I'll tell you why.

Coaching. Imaginative playcalling. Imaginative blocking schemes. Recievers running routes that put them in space.

Mark my words. This team will NEVER win anything more than a mediocre North Championship with the current offensive staff.

And that's because the defense will have to carry them time and time again, and as we've seen, it doesn't always work. See: ISU and TT.

Bo needs new offensive coaches, and it starts with Barney and Watson.

By the way, Dreu Young whiffed on block after block after block after block last night. The TE's have blocked pretty well this year, but not last night.

Having said that, I'm pleased this team won the Big XII North.

  9. Where the hell has this been all year?

Watson finally called a decent game (although there were some stupid shotgun calls AGAIN). WTH has it taken him 10 games to figure out what to do with this offense?

It has some to do with Helu and Burkhead getting hurt, but sheesh!
