  1. I was at the game, the boos were for the refs. Completely and totally. The team was almost completely off the field when the boos started. And yes, there were a few Suh calls...he was on the big screen going into the locker room last. But the boos started as the refs left the field in the southwest corner of the stadium.

Worst officiated game I've ever seen--and I've seen some bad ones.

But it certainly didn't cost NU the game.

Oh, and further proof that the boos weren't for the team--the crowd in the North stands gave the players a lot of encouragement during their trek to the locker room, and the whole stadium cheered for them as they came back.

  2. I think Lucky will make a terrific 3rd down back in the No Fun League. He is a great blocker, and a terrific receiver. Get him into space and he can rip off a long one.

I've said before: He would have been an all-American wingback in Oz's system, IMO.

  3. Whatever the case, he let himself and his teammates down. It's unfortunate, and I hope he learns from it.

I can almost guarantee there's nobody as upset or ashamed as he is right now.

Sounds like it's his choice...he can right the wrong (I hope...if it were too bad, Bo would've booted him permanently), and do better; or he can go downhill.

Life's lessons can be hard to learn. Let's hope this is his one mistake.

  4. IMO, you need:

    1. Speed. And more speed.

    2. A good QB with experience

    3. Aggressive Defense

    4. Blanced attack with a strong running game that can get 4-5 yards at any time, but is also a threat to go the distance at any time.

    5. Fewer penalties than most (NU has REALLY gotten better as the season has progressed, IMO).

    6. Speed.

  5. Got it!

Nebraska has been in the National Championship game 9 times:

    1970 - LSU WIN

    1971 - Alabama WIN

    1981 - Clemson

    1983 - Miami

    1993 - Florida St.

    1994 - Miami WIN

    1995 - Florida WIN

    1997 - Tennessee WIN

    2001 - Miami

Gottat fix a couple for ya...

1981-Clemson-If Turner had played, NU wins

1983-Miami-Play them on a neutral field 10 times NU wins 8 or 9

1993-FSU-Refs cheated out a win for Bowden

2001-Miami-Buncha thugs...would've liked to see Oregon get their asses handed to them instead of us! And I am sick of the CU issue...you don't lose to a WAC team at home and get to play in the NC game!

  6. What a society of namby pamby sissies we have become.

If Bo's tactics weren't working, then why is the team playing so hard, and so ready to come to his defense? Plus, how about the players talking about his calm demeanor when NU was losing to VaTech?

"It also should be noted that I talked to two players — one current Husker and one ex-Husker — who absolutely appreciate Pelini’s sideline demeanor. He fights for his players, NU linebacker Cody Glenn said.

A head coach needs to stay on top of the officials, ex-Husker Ben Eisenhart said."

Sipple has no idea what it is like to coach. He needs to shut up. However, at least he included the above quotes.

I'm sure this is going through every player's mind...

"OMIGOSH! Coach is yelling! And he's yelling obscenities! While we are getting our butts handed to us! I expected him to be happy. I'm transferring to another school! He shouldn't get mad when we play like this!"

My high school coach yelled all the time. We got better.

Sheesh. Deal with it. Mountain outta a molehill.

His family got on him about it...he'll get better...although I don't have a problem with him as it is...

  7. Supposedly the punt did hit the Nebraska gunner and Versus didn't have the camera angle to show it. I cannot find it but it was mentioned in an OWH article Sunday and the player told the coaches he did touch it first so Bo backed off on that one.

But there were plenty of others that were bad and we got a break too on the receiver going out of bounds and reentered the field to make a catch.

I really had trouble with the PF penalty against Cody Glenn when he made contact inbounds and drove the guy out with his momentum.

On Bo's show last night, the angle I saw showed it hitting the BU guy.

They called a horse collar tackle on Glenn, instead of a hit out of bounds.

I'm just going crazy with all of the non-calls against BU!

  8. And I'm talking about the officials Saturday. Unbelieveable.

Say what you want about the Big 10(11), at least they hold their guys accountable.

The missed facemask on Marlon's long run, and the missed defensive holding calls were bad enough. But missing a call on replay when it was clear a punt hit a BU player? Unexcusable. And there were more...

    WTF?

By the way, I was sitting with an obnoxious guy who would wait until it was realllllllllly quiet and then yell at the refs. What a......oops, that was me...

  9. Let me tell you something.

I've lived in Indiana, Iowa, South Dakota, and Nebraska. I've spent long periods of time in New England and the Southeast.

The nicest people I've ever lived next to?

The people in Nebraska. And the people in Iowa (at least Western Iowa) are pretty darned close!

    Well, that settles it. <_<

By the way, we're all pretty classy here. Also, KSUCKS and we hope sCUm loses every game the rest of the season! Nebraska fans FTW :)

    Now THAT'S funny!!!! :clap

  10. Ok, I will settle this argument.

The Baylor QB is an unbelieveable athlete with a terrific upside. It's that potential people are hanging their collective hat on.

Now, IMO, Baylor is definately headed in the right direction. Someone on here said they're recruiting better. I believe that to be true.

Also, the kid's a freshman. IMO He has done some very good things, and operates their offense within its framework. His potential says he could be an incredible QB down the line, and bring BU back to respectability.

I hope he does, stronger teams make for a stronger conference, and that makes for a stronger argument for NU to be Nat'l Champs when they go undefeated within the next 5 yrs!
