  1. It makes a lot of sense, actually.

Great players graduated, and nobody as great has come up to replace them. The idea that each year we should be improving doesn't reflect the cycles teams go through with reloading and developing talent. It's not like Stafford and A.Green and Ciante Evans and co are making the same mistakes they were making in 2008.

I think Bo has shown what he can do with talent, and there is reason to be concerned about his ability to pull in talent over the long haul. Those are questions that ought to be answered.

All those people who for years said "We're fine" as we pulled in small recruiting classes that missed on top prospects with a staff that didn't keep their foot on the pedal in that area, ... well, here's the result.

94 NU graduated most of the best offensive line in history, and there didn't seem to be a problem in 95. Good teams don't make excuses. Graduating great players every year should be expected at Nebraska. What happens next year when all the senior talent graduates from the defense? More excuses?

How long did Tom have to build his program and recruiting?

Give Bo a little more time.

  3. I realize alot of the time it's coach speak, but I really do feel that the QB race between Martinez and Green is close. Green has looked great in his limited role, especially throwing the ball. He's an okay runner.

I have nothing against Martinez, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Green take over the starting role later on in the season. On the other side of things, I wouldn't be surprised if Martinez solidified his spot as starting QB and Green became a solid backup.

I know...I'm really going out on a limb here. But I really feel both QBs could do a decent job leading our offense this year in different ways.

    :thumbs:cheers

  4. It's not just that Iowa is from a neighboring state. It's also the fact that Iowa was the original Cornhuskers. We were the Bugeaters (I hate that name!)

So the "Battle of the Corn" would make sense. And it sure helps that both teams are coming back, and both could be top 10 teams next season.

Thus, the future for both programs look bright. I see a lot of potential with NU-IU.

When wwas Iowa named the Cornhuskers?

We were called the Bugeaters for a year or two, not a big deal.

  5. Jamal is at least 6'. A buddy if mine and i talked to him on Sat. He plans on being at Nebraska in Jan. and is setting himself high passing goals for his senior year. I expect him to redshirt next year, but if he picks up up the offense and can pass better than the others I don't see why he can't start. No matter what he will deinitly add competition.
