  1. I'm still proud and excited to be a Husker fan and that will never change... I think there are way more whiney folks out there with more opinion than they can handle (thanks to the internet) and said whiney folks think they are all "expert analysts." I miss the days before Al Gore invented the internet when the only people you could hear bitching were on ESPN...

  2. For the second straight year, my Buckeye friend and I are the Holiday Bowl Beer Pong Champions. We had a blast at Skersfan's tailgate party and we even converted my Mizzu fan buddy into a Husker. I hope you had a chance to stop by, it was well worth the trip. Despite the loss and all the Wats/T-Magic/Fire Anyone talk, I'm proud I got to support my Huskers with my best friends and family. Go Big Red!

  3. I would love to go, never been to San Diego and the wife and I would love to get away even if it's just for a few days. Unfortunately Crusher and Bruiser can be difficult to deal with and mom and dad are the only ones that can deal with them at times. Don't think we can trust our family to watch them the way we want them to. Love my boys to death and I'd give my life for them in a heartbeat, but damnit if they don't mess up traveling.

You get a pass on that one :worship

  4. There's nothing wrong with not going due to finances, but to boycott a bowl game because you're pissed that we got a consolation bowl is BS. We got to this bowl by losing to Oklahoma.... Deal with it. Don't shaft YOUR Huskers by not showing your support for them at the game because you're trying to prove an insignificant point...

  5. I'm not a fan of all the crying about us having to play Washington again... Who cares??? You should support your Huskers no matter what! There shouldn't be any of this whining about who we play.. What's the worst that happens? You go see your favorite team dominate? Heck yes!

If you can go, then get there! That's what we're all about. Hell, I've even got two Ohio State fans, and a Missouri fan coming to cheer us on... :bigredn::restore:koolaid2::bonesflag:

  6. I'm a cop myself, so my NWA humor is strictly sarcasm. The fact that you think we give a sh#t whether or not you are standing or sitting at a game is a bit off.... They obviously got a call for service, and no matter how petty said call is, we have to at least put on the show (i.e. appear) that we are upholding whatever the moron that called wanted us to do. Unfortunately we wear many hats, and the majority of them involve making some idiot feel like they are doing the right thing when they can't solve their own problems like a competent adult. If standing up bugged him/her so much, why couldn't he ask you to sit? Why do people find it so hard to talk to others to resolve their petty differences, as opposed to calling the police to "tattle-tail?" If I knew the answer to that question, I probably wouldn't be a very busy policeman.

In reference to your situation, those officers know the guy that called is right near you. With that in mind, they put on a show to: 1) Shut him/her up; and 2) hopefully convince you to stop doing whatever it is that pisses him/her off long enough so that he/she stops calling. So in reality, they probably don't care that you were doing what you were doing and are only enforcing the "No Standing" rule because some rich alum told the chief of the PD to do so. In my honest opinion, the policemen wanted to watch the game too, but they had to go deal with some blue hair’s petty BS... don't take what happened so seriously, it's not like you were taken down at gunpoint and beaten. :cop:

  7. I'll take 10 Turner Gills over one Mark Mangino.... That fat slob was great for what, two years, then his anti-anorexia got the best of him and he went hulk on his own players... probably because he felt they were in his way on the food chain....

  8. I keep remembering this.

State Champion team, MVP of team and the state Offensive player of the year, not in Nebraska, Maine, North Dakota, but California. At least the third most fertile state for talent in the country. Texas and Florida get the nod but my guess is that there is more talent distributed through out the state due to population talent.

This kid is the real deal. Will he be our starter, no idea, but to think he is behind any of the six mentioned makes me wonder. We need to see him play

Others are proven, but I remember a freshman starting some years back and well we know what happened.

I still think Lee is the starter, but would not be surprised if Martinez is close. He has the heart and the determination obviously.

Lee has the knowledge of the system and experience and if they are even, he still gets my vote due to having the opportunity to rectify last year. :bigredn:

I think Tim Tebow won a few awards at the college level in the SEC no less, yet he's the third string QB behind Brady Quinn in the NFL. Previously accolades can mean very little when one moves up to the next level. Especially at quarterback. Remember, Martinez wasn't even recruited to play QB.

    Neither was Tommie Frazier....

  9. I have a funny story:

Very early this morning I was working patrol and I received a "man with a gun" call in a residential neighborhood. I arrived and found the guy gunless (which I later found in the bushes where he threw it) and he was breaking car windows. I watched him break all the windows out of a truck in a driveway and the house it belonged to had significant damage to its windows and structure. Apparently the guy's ex-wife lived there with her new husband, and the guy decided to get drunk and go on a rampage. He grabbed his gun and drove over there, eventually wrecking his vehicle into a lightpole at his destination.

I contacted him in the front yard where he started running toward me. After ignoring my commands and breaching my personal "safety zone" while screaming "I'll kill you!" in spanish, he was taken to the ground and quickly handcuffed (without any strikes or weapon usage, mind you).

As I picked him up off the ground, a Hispanic female neighbor came outside and started cursing at me and yelling, "You can't do this! This isn't Arizona!" She then proceeded to call out her unbelieveably large, yet very "cholo'd out" family, who started yelling at me and threatening to help the shmuck escape my custody. They didn't live up to their threats, so I continued my investigation and took the guy to jail.

In summary: $10,000+ in damage between the vehicle, home, and lightpole he wrecked. He threatened to kill his ex, her husband, and apprently me with the loaded TEC-9 he threw into the bushes as I arrived. He later told me the only reason he didn't shoot at me was because he couldn't figure out how to chamber a round.

    God Bless California....

  10. I'd hate to rain on anyone's California-gasm, but it's actually in California's Penal Code for peace officers to enforce citienship laws (i.e. send the illegal immigrants in the direction of INS). I do love the fact that Cities like Los Angeles always jump up and act out against so called "segregationist laws" when their own city, the "City of Angels" and the self-appointed capital of liberalism, is the most segregated city in the nation (i.e. Watts, East LA, Thousand Oaks, Compton, etc....). LA Mayor Villaraigosa doesn't live amognst his own oppressed hispanic people, he lives in a nice predominantly wealthy area...

We (Cal cops) are actually instructed by our Federal, State, and Local governments to detain and deport any illegal immigrants we contact, but due to our amount of calls for service we rarely get to exercise these duties.

  11. I once posted in a forum that my Huskers could defeat anyone and that my players were better than everyone else's... Then B*** C******* came along... I see KSUcks being better than the days of Ron Prince, but if you can't score on us you don't win the game.... I am claiming that idea as my own and will file it with the US Patent office.

  12. I'm almost certain I can kick my Dad's ass at this point in our lives, but I don't want to test that theory anytime soon... He still scares the heck out of me, but more like you'd fear a cop/firefighter/serviceman... he's friendly and loves me, but I wouldn't #$%& with him :worship He's still my hero and my best bud :cheers

Sounds like your Little Buddy is a heck of a kid, and he already loves his Huskers :bonez
