  1. I think she asked a very legitimate question.

Why would he stay out on that nasty slick field when the are up by 33 points, when an injury could derail his chance at a 7 figure payday plus bonuses in the NFL?

Suh basically said, because he wanted to be out there to make a statement, and it was the last time he would be playing along aside his brothers out there on the field.

I guess she should stay in the kitchen and be barefoot and pregnant. :sarcasm

I agree Sarge. The question she asked was one I was asking myself so I'm glad she asked it...then he gave a pretty good answer. No nits to pick here. Overall it was a pretty good TV production. I was actually starting to think they were laying it on too thick with the Husker/Suh praise but then again, Arizona basically gave them nothing to talk about.

  2. It's been a few weeks now. Anyone who wanted to see them lose change their minds? I personally still hope they lose, because I can't stand Mac Brown and think he is an incredibly overrated coach. Give Pelini Texas athletes and they'd be in the title game every year. As much as I like to see the Big 12 do well, I just can't root for Texas or Missouri anymore. Hopefully Texas plays close enough so our conference doesn't get embarrassed, but I still want to see McCoy and Brown with a big L to end the year.

I've had nothing but good experiences with the Texas fan base. I'll have to stick with the BIG XII and root for the Horns in spite of One Second-Gate.

  3. It appears to me some on here read only what they want to.

Yes there were a couple who made predictions of less than a close game. But most felt it would be a close game with their team winning. No blow outs.

Amazing a team board that thinks their team is going to win. Why would they post such nonsense.

We have several of our board over there just causing trouble.

Childish, and giving Husker fans a bad name.

They are hurting, and have been attacked far worse tha I have ever seen on this board. And my guess is it would not have been that bad had it been the opposite.

Time to grow up and understand what it is to be a Nebraska fan.

Tool, describes how I feel about your posts.

I agree with you. I guess I started reading about the Huskers on the internet about five years ago. I was absolutely shocked by about 10% of the non-sense that goes on (by all sides). I've seriously re-evaluated my notions about human nature <_< . I'm not saying the TS is that bad, but some of these fools that go starting fights must have some real issues. I need to do a better job of ignoring it!

  5. Weare thinking about going to Tiajauna (sp) the 1st day along with hitting the gaslamp district that night. The next day, we bought tickets to the Holiday Bowl luncheon with the bands/team (hope it is worth the $) and a trip to the beach late afternoon and back to gaslamp.

On gameday we are thinking about taking a dolphin/whale watching tour. We are staying at the Marriot (team hotel, wo we will also "player watch".... I am taking a 12 yr old daughter who loves to player watch).....and there are things called RIB rides put on by former navy seals. It is a 2.5 hour watch...... my wife and daughter love the water and especially dolphins... Any insight on this type of tour before we book.

I would appreciate it. The trip ends at noon and the game is at 5. Hoping, since the hotel is only a few miles away from dolphin tour and 8 miles from stadium, that we can pull tour off and still get to stadium by 2:00 to party with skersfan and KChusker and friends.

Is this possible.....asking those familar with San Diego or experiences like this.

    Thanks

Well, I guess my experiences were just bad. Like you mentioned, alcohol usually starts a problem. Probably my downfall. :wasted

DO NOT GO TO TIJUANA! That place is a scum infested hell hole. A lot of America tourists are being assaulted and robbed, some even killed. If you insist on going to Mexico drive straight through TJ and go to Rosarito. Tijuana is not like Cancun or Cabo. I spent a night in jail there once for peeing on a cop car while the cops were still in it (this was definitely whiskey fueled)...my friends and I each paid a bribe of around $300 to get out. Not cool.

Tijuana is really not that bad!! Just be careful. There's plenty to do down there: gamble, drink, clubs, strippers, shop, eat, whatever; and all at a much cheaper price. However, you just can't be stupid. Don't flash money or get so drunk you can't remember where you are. If you plan on being stupid though, I wouldn't do it in San Diego either. The cops and criminals here are just as bad.

well, maybe it was just my experiences there. Ha ha. I was usually drunk and surrounded by other Marines. So I could see how that could be a problem.

    :wasted

I went to MCT (Marine Combat Training) at Pendleton many moons ago. We had a weekend off with clear instructions to not go to Tijuana so of course we went straight there and didn't even look back. I had $800 dollars to my name (early 90's money), took it all with me, and had to have money wired to me to get back! I had an absolute blast. Seriously though, in case it's not obvious, Tijuana is NOT a family friendly place.

  7. I'm hoping people see the massive lack of an offense we have right now, and decide to come to NU because they know they have a chance to play right away.

Or maybe d-recruits see a lot of three and outs and think that they will get a lot of playing time since the offense isn't on the field. <_<

  8. WTF? The kid is out there trying and giving his all. How does that make him a moron? He's not the best QB around but he's out there trying to do what is asked of him.

For a kid giving his all, there are a couple of times I would have liked to see him lower his shoulder and get an extra foot or so.

Well, he's not a classic running qb, that's for sure. I don't know what he's been told to do by the coaching staff. Obviously some QB's are instructed to dive before being hit. That being said, last night he did collide with a Texas DB at the end of a run. I think it was the 4th quarter...very motivating.

  9. Zach Lee is the worst QB to ever take snaps at Nebraska, period. He is worse than Jamal Lord and Mickey Joseph combined. He slides on FKing running plays! He makes no effort for YAC and a pass play should be redefined in our play book as a 'forward fumble' attempt. This ass clown couldn't start at Metro Tech if they fielded a football team. The only reason he played in High School is because of his old man.

    JIMINY CRICKET!!!!!!!!!!! :boxosoap

  10. Stop with all the excuses! stop with ll the bitching and whining. Get over it. I am hurting as much as anyone but lets put it in perspective(later in this thread) and move on . now on the excuses....

    Excuse:officials throwing the game

The officials weren't paid off, they aren't aweful on purpose. I know one of those officials and have spent a lot of time with him. he doesn't get "paid off." there wasn't a "lets get TU into the Big 12 game" thing going on. for crying out loud, they get scored by the league a hundred ways from sunday by monday morning with video and a written grade/report by their peers, which then moves these guys closer to or farther from the door or going to the NFL. no official is trying to throw the game. these guys are trying to do their job like we do monday through friday. maybe a mistake here and there, but they are human. but no one is trying to throw the game. this is rediculous. the best of the best get the conference and NC games.

    Excuse : bad PI call

I thought it was, and yeah they got 3 points out of it...but maybe the call doesn't get made, they punt inside deep in out territory and lee fumbles in the red zone TU gets a TD ...who knows!

    Excuse:Adi costs us the game.

no he didn't he was trying like hell to kick it into the end zone and just came over the top ot it by 1/2". execution error plain and simple. he has been a great part of this team all season. he kicked balls into the back of the enzone and TU couldn't run the ball out.....

Excuse: the clock should not have been reset.

I see in the rules where it should have been, or maybe not. seemed fair to me at the time. my guess is Bo will drop his argument when he see's the tape. it doesnt matter though...

    Excuse: Watson has to go

where was all of this last year? Watson didn't have @#$t to work with this year. in the middle of the season we were all saying..run up the middle, start passing to our TE's. etc. Do you suppose Watson came on huskerboard and said, "geeze, these guys are right! what a great idea Ill get right on that!" No. he had Brukhead out, Helu hurt, a QB that panned out nothing like people thought he would, and Castille kicked of the team. he had no tools to do his job. I would have hated to be him with those tools. doesnt mean there arent better, but he had little to work with.

    Putting it into perspective:

My point to all of this is.... none of this matters. . when this program gets to a point where none of this matters , then we will be back, going to NC's! And the good news is I think we are a few years away with a young coach who may end up better than TO. I think 5 years from now, we will look back and say the 09 team was the foundation.

it has been an unbelievable transformation and if we get a few things fixed, we will be in the hunt for the next 25 years. yeah we have huge problems on offense, but guys, Bo hasn't been here 2 years yet. his initial charge was get the defense fixed. I think we and the entire sporting world can agree that has been accomplished. Hell, I just hope he doesn't go back to Ohio state some day.

the Big 12 North looks like it is lining back up to where it used to be(assuming Gill doesnt go to KS) with NU dominating and MU, KU, CU etc playing for second. These are losses that will build character .Last night woke a lot of people up around the country to the fact the NU is coming back and fast. I like where we are headed. now back to the hurting part...

I agree. It was a good game that could have gone either way, we lost, it sucks. But the future is bright.

  11. Truly Sorry Huskers - You guys got boned. If the standard is to stop the clock by replay EXACTLY when the ball strikes something out of bounds, they should go back and add all the seconds throughout the game where time ticked off waiting on the whistle and the clock operator's reflexes. Then add about 45 seconds and kick the ball back to you guys. Selective use of the rules it seems to me. And what's next, hundredths of seconds like basketball. :sarcasm

I know Big Red will be back - and glad we aren't playing against Suh - a man among boys in the NCAA. I look forward to his pro career someday.

    ---------------------

    Here's a little cheer anyway

Tide Fan, so are you guys licking your chops? Texas look pretty bad against a good defense. You guys looked by the best team in the country by FAR yesterday afternoon. I guess its good to be a Tide Fan these days. Good luck.

  12. Nothing I like better than listening to someone for an hour saying the same thing over and over and over, then a commercial, and then over and over and...... Hell! It's worse than being with my wife!!!

Exactly! I have him on in my truck, I'll get out to work somewhere for an hour, get back in and its like a time warp. I've seriously thought they accidentally started the program over. He does come up with some witty ideas but then repeats them like five times.

    Thank you.

We all love to love or love to hate.

All we need is love, da-da-da-da-da!

:dunno I am the Walrus? Coo-coo-ca-choo?

  13. Nothing I like better than listening to someone for an hour saying the same thing over and over and over, then a commercial, and then over and over and...... Hell! It's worse than being with my wife!!!

  14. Not their play - their ugly uniforms and butt ugly helmets.

I'd actually like to watch this. It's usually pretty good. Unfortunately no dice here in Tampa and for some reason my cable doesn't support ESPN 360 :dunno . I'm watching Florida vs. FSU but I doubt that will be very good.

  15. Seriously, I am considering taking all of our offensive plays and cutting them into a video that I can sell as a national sleep aid. Wow, we are boring beyond belief and next week is not going to be pretty.

Our defense will play well and give Texas all they can handle but I am afraid they will wear down as the game goes on as they will be on the field most of the night. Hope I am wrong but would take a miracle like Watson forgetting his playbook at home and maybe making some new stuff up...

You know, this looks an awful lot like Beamer Ball. Great D, Henery pinning them back all day, and a very boring offense. I'll take the win though!

  16. I have been a husker fan since birth. I live in Iowa and I cant STAND the Hawkeyes and their fan base. If they were on our schedule I would rather lose to OU or UT two times each before EVER dropping a game to these guys.

    :rant

This must be an Eastern Nebraska thing (I'm from GI). I've never had a problem with them. In fact, have we ever lost to them? I can remember a handful of games in the 80's and 90's that were one-sided in our favor. Maybe if we had lost I would feel differently.

  17. There are obvious problems with our offense that we have all discussed however I have a small theory to consider. Is our defense so good that it is in turn hurting our offense? I have seen this through my years of sports and even in college and professional sports today. I believe our defense is so good that our offense does not bare the weight of this team. They depend entirely on our defense to put them inside the 50 yard line in order for them to score. This may sound funny, but do you think if our defense was only average would that improve the play of our offense? Grant it we would have more losses then we would, but would the added pressure of not relying on our defense every drive push our offense to take chances and make plays? I see it most often in baseball, pitchers with extremely low era's have the lowest run support in the rotation. I think our offense goes out there game in and game out knowing that our defense will be there to correct their mistakes takes off the pressure for them to score every drive. I know there are a hand full of problems that explain our struggling offense, but I really think this is a small issue.

Well, I think this would be at best a hypothesis and nothing close to a theory... :) just kiddin', that's the scientist in me talking. This is a good point, I mean, my observations of human nature would support your theory. However, my opinion is that they are trying their hardest and a combination of inexperience, injury, and less than perfect play-calling (although I am a Watson supporter) has lead to a less than desirable offensive output this year.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

hilarious watching an OL w/ 4 new starters, a RB-should be LB or Strong Safety-playing WR, 1st year ever playing RB at RB, 5th year transfer never started BCS play before QB, and 5-5 140lb receiver putting up 300 yards on a defense loaded w/ veterans, 2 top 2 NFL DT prospects (Crick rated 2nd in his class for the draft) and needing slop luck punts inexplicably rolling out inside the 5, missed FGs, and a fumble at the one going in....

but yeah, Red, stroke your egos today because you're a great Big 12 North champs sort of team.

Again, see you in Manhattan next year. Me thinks Snyder makes a wee bit more progress between now and then vis-a-vis Bo Peep.

I was thinking earlier..... it must suck to be done with football season before most high school playoffs have concluded.

    :rollin

  19. Remember when the minimum goal for a regular season was nine wins. There was a time in the history of this program...not that long ago, where this would be a week filled with nine win talk and what a disapointment it would be to finish with eight wins and how Texas is tough and if we lost to Colorado and fell to Texas we wouldn't meet the program standard.

    Where is this talk now?

Nine wins represents a return to consistency and you have to return to consistency before there is much belief that you can take the program where we all want it to go.....ALL THE WAY

I would be quite happy. I think the frustrating thing for some people is that with a defense this good we really could have had something special with a little more offense. I'll be happy as long as we keep improving.

Also, as a side note, just think how bored Texas fans are this year. They haven't seen a good game (i.e. close score) all season! At least we've been entertained. :)
