Absolutely. It's a lot like the 2008 situation with OU, Texas, and Florida. Give OSU a chance.

For whatever reason it seems that Bo has recruited poorly, especially on defense. Going to have to work hard to finish up on the 2012 class and make it a success.

2008 - 9-4
2009 - 10-4
2010 - 10-4
2011 - currently 8-3 with 2 games left.
am i the only one that has seen this trend? 10 wins is great, but 4 losses a year is unacceptable in my opinion. Especially the way we are losing games. I could be overly critical but a decade of mediocrity is starting to get tiresome.
Beat Iowa! GBR!
You're not the only one. I'm getting sick of just competing for division titles.

When multiple players are making similar mistakes week to week, it is on the coaches.

Think Carnes starts second half?
-
Plus we forced a fumble on our first punt.

What worries me:
Wisconsin safety Aaron Henry said the Badgers designed the simplest game plan they've ever had. They had only four play calls. The emphasis: Keep Martinez from running. Make him throw.

Against defenses with a pulse we are going to have to rely on Martinez's ability to throw. With as much as the coaches talked up Martinez before the season, he hasn't really shown much if any improvement in this area.

Can we stop doing the option please.

Some good news is that all the o-linemen that were injured are practicing now, including Jones.
Garrison said they are back to full health.

I am not going to buy into the hype just b/c he played better than Cody and Taylor for 1 day.
One day, in a scrimmage, in August, made Taylor the starter. Before that, he was the 3rd QB on the team.
Unless he has been kicking their butts all spring..
He has. It wasn't just the spring game where Brion has looked like the best QB on our team.
....and you know all of this how?
Considering that Carnes is having a fairly tough time understanding the offense, I'm going with too...
I'd have to agree with BigWillie here. Everything I have heard from people who are lucky enough to attend practices is that Martinez has had an unimpressive spring. I just hope Martinez can make a huge improvement in his passing and decision making, or Carnes gets the mental aspects of the offense down. We need a complete QB, or else we could see a repeat of last year.
-
Going just by the spring game today:
1. Carnes
2. Kellogg
3. Martinez and Green

how many penalties did we get?
There were two false starts and one fumble in 150 plays. I think that's pretty good.

Looks like a high of 47 on Saturday right now. Really hope that wont be the case.

I haven't bought tickets yet, but the only seats availabe on huskers.com are high up in the endzones. Should I pay extra for better seats from another site?

Ha, I always have to scroll quickly past his posts while at work. Gonna get me in trouble one of these days .

Well Bo picked his guys and there is nothing we can do but hope for the best. People are already saying it's going to fail before the staff is even officially announced. It isn't the first time we promoted a GA (see Tom Osborne) nor hire a high school head coach (see Dan Young). This is probably Bo's last chance, let's hope he and TO are better at evaluating coaching talent than us.
Smiled at the bold phrase ... that is amazing. Again, TO would have been fired real quick with this same thinking.
I don't see the Bo hire as anything like a five year time frame ... maybe I don't know my university that well ... could be. I don't see TO hiring Bo with this short of a lease. I think he hired him with a commitment for as long as he needs ... unless he throws it away.

Yeah you are probably right. I think I let all the doom and gloom posters get in my head.

Does anyone else think it's kind of strange that there is a job posting for an offensive coordinator position? I was under the impression positions were filled by whoever the university likes and wants to talk to rather than any Joe applying.
It's probably just a requirement of the university to post any open positions. UT did the same thing for defensive coordinator when Muschamp left.

I think most people's opinions on this would be different if we didn't have such a great recruiting class.
I can understand CJ being upset about the whole deal. He is kept in the dark about the coach who is responsible for his development and potential for having a future in the NFL. Maybe there is a legitimate reason for this, we don't know yet. I'm wondering what Starling's reaction will be if Watson is fired.

Aren't their profiles private? I looked them up and I have no access to their walls, where I assume they made these comments. If they are private, can they really be considered public domain? How could the Big 12 find this out without invading their privacy? Are they going to start screening the players phones for disparaging texts as well?

Guess how many of them live in Texas. I remember a discussion of how all the officials and the US Federal Reserve and Treasury Dept came from Goldman Sachs ... they call this type of thing "regulatory capture."
This was also the crew at the Missouri game that watched Burkhead get his head nearly twisted off.
That my friend was Iowa State
And that same crew was at Iowa State. The Greg Burks crew were officiating A&M, ISU, and Texas. I hope we don't get them against CU.

Something definitely isn't right. I was looking at some stats and made a graph to help illustrate:
Note that this is not penalties against Nebraska, but against the other teams. I don't like how it is trending. What are the chances that three highly penalized teams somehow play clean football against Nebraska?
-
Why didn't they show replays on most of the penalties? The only ones I remember them showing were a PI, Bo's, and the "late" hit. Eric Martin's two personal fouls for instance, I wanted to see what he did there.
Ponder this...

But you would need to do the same for all other quarterbacks for that to be a fair comparison.
